White Widow & Blue Cheese First Time CFL Closet Grow

A mutant bud, hehe.

I didn't read your entire journal, just the beginning and this page, so this has probably been discussed but why did you start flowering early? Seems like they still had plenty of space in that room.

Mutant Bud indeed, Ill have to get a few shots of the branch that it came from, but its too dense in there to take a good pic.
I might have vegged longer, but I was thinking of having it harvested it ready for December time so I can enjoy them on cold nights. I had a few growth stunts (nute burns and noob mistakes) or else they would have been bigger and filled the room. I vegged them for about a month and 3 weeks from seed.

Your mutant Bud site looks like a polypoid bud. It wont be but well we can all wish he he!

Lol Yea I was surprised too! Im gonna harvest it when its done and separate it from the other part of the plant to see how it smokes!

looks like i showed up late in the game, but your journal has provided me with some solid insight. sub'd for sure. i brew beer as well and for some reason the thought never crossed my mind to just carbonate water in a carboy for my ladies (probably due to the medication). thanks for the eye opener haha but dude your blue cheese looks amazing!:goodjob: im in the middle of my first grow as well and i have 3 blue cheese clones that i can only hope end up lookin as fine as those mamas. im looking forward to seeing how it all turns out for you!

Haha yea Beer and Weed production at the same time! Im making this right now Beer Making Mix: Warrior Double IPA

Thanks man, the Blue Cheese is really resilient with all the mistakes ive thrown at her. It suppose to be more indica then sativa, yet its the same height as my sativa heavy White Widows. You should make a grow journal of it so I can follow it too.

heres a link to my journal: Pizzajedi's First Grow - Soil - Indoor - Blue Cheese

im having some issues at the moment that im working to rectify, and i would love some input especially on the blue cheese.

oh yeah, that beer looks amazing. gonna have to try it some time!

My other half and I were discussing my making some "brew" just the other day. You just cut my surfing time down to nothing, as I see a couple of interesting brews on your provided link. I used to make a lot of wine, but never beer nor ale. Thanks for the link

Day 24 Flowering

Plants are doing good, the buds are really starting to develop the cone like buds.

Watered her yesterday with:

Nute Watering FF Week 8 Schedule (50% strength in 4 gallons of water):

Big Bloom - 6 tsp
Grow Big - 4 tsp
Tiger Bloom - 4 tsp
Beastie Bloomz - .5 tsp
Cal Mag - 2 tsp
Molasses - 2 tbls

About 5% soil runoff which I Ph'd and it came out to be average 6.3 for all three plants.

Now I don't know if this is genetics or cold temps(lowest it gets is 75 F) but Ive been having red branches and veins on all 3 of my plants. Any advice?

IMG_014130.JPG

Also the middle and lower fan leaves have been really yellowing fast. Get about 4-6 yellowing leaves ranging from small to medium everyday. is that normal?

It appears you are feeding your plants too few nutrients. the yellowing leaves indicate a nitrogen deficiency and are most likely from too little nitrogen. the leaves with the purple on the underside stems usually indicate a calcium and magnesium deficiency, some have suggested it may also be from too little phosphorus. I would increase the amount of calcium and magnesium to 5 millilitres per gallon. I would increase the amount of nutrients you are feeding by another 1/4 and see how your plants react. If you notice the tips of the leaves yellowing and browning I would flush your pots with at least twice the volume of pH adjusted water as pot size.

Ive been doing 1/2 and 3/4(mostly) strength nutes in flowering but never tried full. Ill try full on the next feeding, crossing my fingers though.

Definetely going to try to up the CalMag to 5ml per Gal. I think the Phosphorus intake for them was thrown off course since the low ph runoff which has now been fixed.

Thanks John!

Day 28 Flowering

I just watered them yesterday with plain water and they have been looking really good since the temps where I live have lowered. Temps are ranging now from 79-81 F and Humid 30%-45%

Soil runoff PH as of yesterday is at 6.7. A week ago it was at 6.3 according to my PH pen.

Im taking a risk here but I have lowered the reflector to 10 inches between the reflector glass and tallest top cola.

So far I don't see any signs of the plant lowering it self away from the light. Matter of fact the Sexy White Widow is pointing its leaves upwards, which i heard is a good thing.

White Widow Sexy

Do you guys think the canoing of smaller leaves is nitrogen toxicity?

:yummy:

Crap, I just a text from my roommate at 12 pm today saying that he saw light from my flowering closet! I was in such a rush this morning that i didn't go check.

I think it happened when I was adjusting the timer for daylight savings adjustment. And I somehow switched it to ON default.

So it told my roommate to go in and turn the timer off. I believe it got about 7 hours more light then it should.

I have it on at 5pm - 5 am lights ON schedule. Should I switch the lights back on at 5pm today or give it 24 hours dark?

when there is a disruption in the lighting schedule just ensure the plants in flower receive 12 hours of darkness. with vegetative growth it does not mater as much if the hours of darkness are reduced for 1 day.

Day 31 Flowering

Hey guys, so the girls seem to be recovering from that 7 addition hours of light yesterday. I havn't seen any nanners during today's watering.

Dog likes to admire the grow like me.

Nute Watering FF Week 9 Schedule (75% strength in 4 gallons of water):

Big Bloom - 3 tbl
Tiger Bloom - 2 tbl
Cha Ching- .75 tsp
Cal Mag - 1 tbl
Molasses - 3 tbl

This is the White Widow Sexy plant. And in the picture circled in orange is a really low bud. I'd say its located about 15% above the soil. And the bud does really have those white pistils and the fan leaves from it are getting yellow. Do you think it would be a good idea for me to cut it off so the top buds can get more nutrients?

IMG_004239.JPG

And here's the rest of the plants.

Looking great, real nice my friend +reps

Thanks Bro! ++

Good looking grow! +reps. I'd leave that lower bud alone, it's already 4-1/2 weeks, might as well throw it in a jar with the rest of them.

Yea nerd, they started to really fatten up over the past couple of days. Gonna leave them then.

Day 36 Flowering

IMG_008629.JPG

Buds have gotten a little bigger after adding the Fox Farms Cha Ching. The White Widow Sexy was originally the one plant of the group that was healthiest in the whole group and looks like the fans leaves and inner leaves are getting yellow and dying faster then the others.

IMG_008732.JPG

looking good!

Thanks B real!

Day 38 Flowering

So I kinda fucked up again. Last night power went out due to me overloading my rooms computer and peripherals and the grow rooms power into 2 sockets. So it got tripped and I took off and replugged back in the timer which the ballast is connected to. Apparantly, it also trips the timer back to "always ON" So it had about 9 hours of extra daylight which is 21 hours of daylight! So shes getting her same 12 hours of sleep after this mistake and then a shortened daylight interval.

Anyways here's some Bud porn:

Blue Cheese

This is the mutant bud I was talking about. Two stems joining together to form a mutated bud.

Look how much larger it is compared to the others.
