1st Grow, Bagseed, CFL's..

ya will follow you and do the same unless some thing goes wrong
Awesome dude, I love seeing people perform bondage on their plants ;)

It's super easy to do, once they're like 4-5 nodes tall, just tie the base down to support it, that way when you bend the top down, it prevents the pressure from uprooting the entire plant.. That would definitely suck if it happened. Then just bend the top down the opposite way and train it around the perimeter of the pot. If you have any questions about it, just let me know

Plants look great! I'm another first time grower and am learning a lot from your journal. Thanks for sharing, bro.

Awesome dude! post up a journal if you haven't already, it's the best way to get any help you will need. We're all here to make sure your plants go from seed to smoke :rollit:

wat is the big purpose of bending and tying plant??

yeah that's exactly why. When you tie down the top, the plant redirects its growth hormones to start forming new tops, which will eventually fill into additional colas. Also, I'm only using CFL's and florescent tubes, so my light intensity leaves a lot to be desired. This way, I can keep my lights right on top of the plants, and give all of the plant even light distribution. If I didn't tie them down, there is no way the bottom buds on the plant would get much usable light at all.

It just helps the plant get more usable light and allows it to form multiple colas, which will give you more bigger buds in most situations.

it's a sad day today. I'm out of smoke till Friday and my plants aren't done yet. Make sure you guys smoke an extra bowl for me tonight!

Checked on em last night and they are really starting to fatten up. I need to tie them down again though as one half of the plant is about 6" higher than the other side.

For you guys who LST in flowering, do you know if typing down the budding branches affects the bud growth in any way? Since the plant is directing its energy to developing buds, I don't want to redirect that energy if the plant will try to continue to form new colas if tied down.

I think I'm gonna do some research on this subject and see what I can come back with. I'll let you guys know what I find.

Looking great :grinjoint:...My experience with tying down in flowering has been good...they seem to do fine where most buds are already established they just keep the power going on top most buds....Thats why scrogs work so well....everyone is on a level playing field ....hope that helps....keep it green brother grower :passitleft:

thanks bro, I haven't really found any solid info on it yet, so I'll take your experience over anything. I took some pics last night but haven't ripped them from my cam, so I'll just shoot some new ones tonight or something after I tie them down.

Don't worry bro, you'll live to smoke another day..... just maybe not today... or tomorrow.... hahaha

Sorry, I had to. :peace:

TheCriMsonK20, my experience so far is that the plants do well with LST. First, if you are tying down, tie off to the pot, not the main stem. I have found that tying off to the main stem when the plants are young can cause growth damage to the main stem if the tie point is to tight. Better to put small holes in the lip of the pot to tie off to. I use the plastic coated wire twist ties and it worked quite well, plus can reuse them over and over. My observation, that the individual branches are in competition with each other for resources. First I try to give them all the resources I can, and at the same time, try to level the field for all the branches, there by ensuring that even the smaller lower buds get as much as they can take. But that is just my opinion.

Well guys, let me start off by saying I have a weed problem lol

Nah, I wouldn't really call it a problem, I still get my shit done. But anyway, due to being out of smoke, I had the urge to clip a small bud last night and see if it would get me blazed. I cut 2 of the smallest buds off, they probably had about half the crystals as most of the others. I dried in front of a small space heater for a couple of hours, then threw it int he oven at 170 for 10 minutes and it dried it out pretty well. Packed up the bowl and smoked it with my girl and my brother.

The taste wasn't very good, as expected from a premature freshly cut bud, but it didn't really taste bad at all. The smoke was PHENOMENAL! Total couch lock Indica high. It took about 10 minutes after smoking it until it crept up on me, but wow, I was not expecting that from bagseed. The high lasted a good 2 hours also, which surprised me as I've seen many people say the duration is shorter when the buds are premature.

This gives me A LOT of hope for when the plants are actually ready for harvest!! They have only been in 12/12 for 4 weeks, and pistils have been showing for 3 weeks.

Bad news is, I think I have to take a drug test on Saturday for a second job interview, but the good news is, it's just a saliva test, so if i don't smoke between now and then I should be solid. It sucks though because I bought some blunts for Friday as I'm getting an oz then.

Update on the plants::

Tied them down yesterday, pruned off some of the dying fan leaves and gave them a good watering.

Onto the pics! I took a ton of them, so enjoy the bud porn! These things are getting so beautiful. It's going to be sad to cut them down.

thanks dude! The plants don't smell too bad. When I came home yesterday I caught a whiff of it when I walked in the door, but otherwise, they're pretty scent-less unless you stick you nose in the bud.

:goodjob: Really TheCriMsonK20 your Plants have been very healthy the whole grow. Great work be you. P.S keep the clippers away! I know it is very tempting, No weed and those lovely little buds :yummy: staring at you! It is hard not to. ;)

GMT1975A made a great point about not tying to the main stem. i tried this with hemp twine, as the stem grew, the twine constricted the man stem and stunted the plant. fyi. they're looking great man.
