Day 14 12/12, updated the journal today.
Can't wait till they finish and can squish them.
Just smoked some of the buds from the LA Express, yummly fragrance and taste. Two bowl high. Will turn this into Rosin this coming week.

Hey guys, When you strip your leftover pucks with ETOH, are you breaking them up? grinding? anything? Or does it fall apart when the ETOH hits it?

This is the last batch of pucks I did, just put them in the compost pile yesterday. I freeze everything and do a couple of quick washes. I do not attempt to break them up, as once they are pressed the filter is a bitch to try to get off the puck. I am not saying you can't do it but I tried and like I said it is a bitch!
I have a bag of pucks in the freezer now that I will be processing in a few weeks, may try again to break them up. I think you still strip the remaining THC from the pucks even if you don't break them up.

I don't know if the nylon filter bags are a good fit for compost.

Has anyone measured the yield /gm of pucks used when stripping? Or reference back to the starting weight prepress?

The mesh will not break down but will not harm anything in the compost. The meshes will but removed when I screen the compost for making tea, but if I am just spreading or topdressing with the compost I can pick it out as needed.
Mama needs more dab ! I got her a good one coming . This bud did 9 grams with the stem, made a four gram puck and after stripping the Bud the stem weighed 1 gram . This bud had a load of sugar in it . So 2-4 gram pucks @190degrees for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. I think I did something right color looks light !

Too much work for me. I quick wash the pucks or soak in alcohol in the freezer. I don’t break them up at all. The alcohol will get all the good stuff. Breaking it up just puts more contaminates into the final product IMO.

You know I was thinking those make perfect sense, the other day. All that glass area stays cooler and probably picks up easier. Plus you could toss it in the freezer for a few minutes.I love this one.

I’d hit it!
The buds squished taste like hash and the pop corn buds have a lighter taste of mint . Just did a dab with mama now in the neutral zone!
