How to Make a Grow Journal

Excited to start my journal later today! I can use all the help I can get! So many unknowns and questions. I must say that this forum and community is hands down the best one I have ever been a part of.

With enough setup information in the beginning, your grow journal will be monitored and analyzed by master growers from all over the world. The more pride and effort you put into your journal, the more response, interaction and support you will receive from our members and staff.

First and foremost, please make sure to post your Grow Journal in the proper area for Journals In Progress.

Also, please make sure to use proper grammar and structure when choosing your thread title, your Name/Growing-Medium/Strain-Name/Year is a good start.

Examples:
420's Hydro Skywalker Grow Journal - 2010
420's Outdoor Skywalker Grow Journal - 2009
420's Soil Skywalker Grow Journal - 2010
420's Deep Water Culture Skywalker Grow Journal -2008

There are many journals hosted on 420 Magazine. You increase your potential number of subscribers when they can immediately determine the strain and grow method - right from your title.

Consider putting as much of the following information as possible to start the thread with.

What strain is it?
Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? What percentages?
Is it in Veg or Flower stage?
If in Veg... For how long?
If in Flower stage... For how long?
Indoor or outdoor?
Soil or Hydro?
If soil... what is in your mix?
If soil... What size pot?
Size of light?
Is it aircooled?
Temp of Room/cab?
RH of Room/cab?
PH of media or res?
Any Pests ?
How often are you watering?
Type and strength of ferts used?

This info will make it much easier for accurate help to be given when needed and keep the members interested in your grow.

EXAMPLE

Bucket Size - 3.5 gallon
Medium - 75% perlite 25% vermiculite.
Lights - (2) 400w HID
Nutrients - FloraNova Grow/Bloom, Floralicious Plus
Strain(s) - Blue Dream, Cannalope Haze, Lavender
# of Plants: 9
Yield : 14-16 Ounces.

The ONLY way to receive optimal attention, feedback and support is to provide photos!

Cant wait to start one up. Is there a section for commercial cultivators or? I'm a little at loss where to begin. Should I select 1 of my clones/seedlings and just start a journal on it, or can I do a entire 30,000 watt flower room, or 4? some assistance would be a great help. What would suit me best? Select 1, a few, a entire garden?

Go to Journals in Progress ("Grow" in the green menu bar > Grow Journals).

Click on the black box "Post thread", top right, create a title and your first post, click on "Post thread", and you're off. :thumb:

Hello, I did an update this week, my second week of a new grow journal and my first. My update shows up as a reply (only second of the two total responses). Did I do the second update correctly for week 2, or is there another way without my update it showing up as a reply. Just curious going forward, want to get it right. Thanks.

It is a reply to your thread, as you are unable to edit your posts after a short period of time (would be a Moderation nightmare otherwise if folks could change their posts weeks later ;) ). So it is just an ongoing thing posting in the same thread, just update it like you did when you want to update things or if you having issues you want help with (though sometimes better to start a thread for help as more folks might see it than a post in your Journal).

Hi, love the forum.
I also have ADHD and PTSD which I treat with THC.
The worst side effect being I am always slightly scatterbrained.
I was envisioning a checklist and schedule that would be put together before the grow even starts.
Then I simply follow the schedule, do my daily checklist and deal with things that pop up with help from the forum.
Maybe even an app?
My grow has been trial and error by the seat of my pants.
I generally drive my plants to the point of death before they recover in spite of my ignorance.
