Vapedogg223 Goes True High Brix

Damn...your plants are looking amazing already Vape!!! Loving how the leaves are already giving off their shine!!! This grow I already know is going to produce some amazing girls. :) Great job Vape!

Hungry, intraveinal chlorosis. I have a question, what is it that determines a high brix environment, and how does a person come to that determination? Almost all my plants have shiny leaves and are healthy as hell, the ones that don't are not shiny because they're covered wth trichs. I have the feeling that the soil that I'm using is stacked with the necessary components to give me a high brix READING on my plants. This subject interests me, and I'll procure a meter when convenient.

There are a couple way's of determination aside from the obvious refractormetor reading, posture of the leaves will look like they're reaching for the sky, the stem's will be a bright lime green and the waxy leaves. The best being the refractormetor but the others will let you know if you're in the ballpark.

Hey everyone!

It's been almost a week, and I'm sorry I haven't been around...I've just been really busy with all kinds of stuff around here! Anyway, let me bring you up to speed.

Last Saturday shortly before I took those last pictures, I had watered them with 1/2 gallon per plant...I was also starting to see some fungus gnats flying around, so I took the opportunity to BT the little bastards with a couple mosquito dunks. Other than the sprays, I've not touched them since.

Here they are now:

I just wanted to say that I was NEVER even the slightest bit concerned with them. We've all seen just what the kit can do with Doc's grows, and I knew it was just a matter of time for the plants to adjust! :thumb:

So...Doc, I want to flip them, and give them the give them the deep root soaking with 1oz per 5 gallons of Energy, plus 2.5 mils of tea that you recommended...but it's also time to spray them with Brix.

I might just be over-thinking this, but I'm planning on giving them their soaking, and spraying them with the Brix today...then when the lights go out in the morning, switching over to HPS and flipping them to 12/12...so when the lights go out that would start their first 12 hour period of darkness.

Also, these containers are BIG...the only bucket I could dunk them in would be maybe a 20 gallon tote...so I'd probably just close the drain valve and flood the tray for their soaking.

Anyway...I just thought I'd run that by you to see if you saw any problems with my plan...
:thanks: for all your input!

And :thanks: to everyone for taking a look...it wont be long until we'll have some bud porn now! :)

That's what I'm talking about!

OK...here's my suggestion, which answers your questions.

Top dress with Re-charge and worm castings (optional)
Do the deep root drench, but also add the remaining Transplant to the Energy and Tea.
Spray with Stress, not Brix.

Follow with the brix about 4 days later.

Wow! They are looking good! You're gonna have some very nice product.....just wait.

Thanks brother! :)

I was reviewing the instruction sheet, and my next question was going to be about the recharge! I'll have to forgo the EWC, just because I don't have any on hand, and no money at the moment...but I'm assuming I could add some a little later once some cash comes in.

Also, I used up the remaining Transplant I had during the first part of their recovery when I topped them the second time...otherwise, that sounds like a plan!

:allgood:

I forgot about that.....I'll have to add more transplant in the next version of the kit.

The plants are looking f'ing great!

Everything went as planned. :thumb: The girls were top-dressed with the Re-charge, and got their deep root drench and a spray with Stress yesterday. The only thing that caught me off guard was just how much they absorbed...I lost count, but they took at least 30 gallons.

Last night they had 12 hours in the dark, and woke up to a HPS lamp. All their leaves were reaching for the light within minutes of lights-on, and although I can't white balance worth a damn...so you'll have to take my word for it...they were the most amazing shade of green today. Definitely a noticeable difference from just yesterday.

Energy does amazing things for these plants... Doc touched on just what it's doing in a reply over in Curso's journal...

Yep. The "Energy" drench changes the ionic balance (CE) of the soil. It's not so much that you're feeding the plant, more like changing the voltage of the soil. They green up pronto when you do that.

I used to wonder why every now and then the plant would turn yellow, mainly from the top. A year ago, I surmised it was a sulfur or zinc deficiency....which it is not.

When the soil energy goes flat, the microbes go on strike. Give 'em some cations and some nitrate and in a few hours the color comes right back. They still photosynthesize even though they're yellow.

All I can say is :bravo:

Looking great Vape!!!! Those ladies are really going to blow up once you flip them.

Yup! I can tell they're champing at the bit!

Thanks for the reps bro! But Doc's kit deserves most of the credit! :thumb:
Agreed! But your doing a fine job. Not hard if you follow his directions I guess.
I am going to go rep out docbud now too..haha

Looking amazing I've never been good at soil seem to kill everything but hydro I can do wonders with go figure

Thanks for stopping in bro! I get as much enjoyment out of growing our plant as I do consuming it. It's my hobby, and it's very therapeutic for me...especially in the winter months. Because of that, the attitude I have is that every grower must find a method that they enjoy in order to do it really well. :thumb:

One thing I will say, is that after reading 4 grow bibles cover to cover several times when I first started growing, is that when it comes to soil, most growers are doing it wrong! That's not to say they can't grow some dank buds...but when everything is in balance, they pretty much grow themselves!

I played around with aero cloners and hempy buckets a bit early on...but it never felt right for me. Now I feel at home!

I hope you'll be stopping in from time to time to watch me play in the dirt!

:Namaste:

I have to agree, a high quality soil is REQUIRED, for plant growth and development, and sanity retention!...LOL

Isn't it fun watching your plants reach for the sky Vape? I would be doing soil wrong if it weren't for Doc :high-five: I probably would be one of those guys that needs a rake in Doc's instructions.
