Welcome To The Table Mountain Sativa Spectacular

Yeah they swarm it. Not sure if they hatch there but they will be here and I'll take some pics. Never had any issues with pests , likely because of the wind but the olive seems to attract pests yet I don't get on any other plant on the deck. .. so so far and fingers crossed

So talking about praying mantis, I managed to snap a Pic of the first one that's hatched or the last or whatever. It hatched ok. ...

Here is the seed mission
Tent looking good to me so far. Had two plants that hermed. ( risk when working landraces) so they got trashed. The donor plants, the mother and the receiving plants all in the compost pile. The more stable strains are cruising and now have a bit more space.

Looking stellar chom! I drove along beach road today and it's such a clear day I could see the mountain in brilliant definition from Strand too. I love how your seeds go into the barrels directly and how they thrive amongst the other plants and weeds that already live in there. I know you mix your own soil, so how do you get it ready for the next batch so that it isn't spent? Top dressing? Have a lekker day.

So a few things.. I don't mess around building rootballs in small pots. Not for outdoor growing. I get why it's a thing indoors but I want them to go as wide and deep as they want to go without restriction. Seem to always get at least 500g per plant so no reason to change what's working. The weeds are out and all the cover gets dug into the soil to rot along with a top dressing of worm castings. Other than that the soil gets conditioned throughout the winter season by growing nitrogen rich cover crops which fix the soil and also add their nutrients when they decompose. Most of what you see in the pots is clover and marigold sprouts and there should be very little weeds at all. In a week or two each pot should be carpeted in cover crops, mostly marigolds. Other than that its a top dress with some ground cuttlefish shells or cuttlebone (whatever the kids are calling it) for calcium. In about a month I'll tip dress with some compost as well and go from there. Soil looks great from the colour and vigor of the winter grow so not too much that still needs to be done :)

Quick update on the tent. Flowering has begun and in a few weeks hopefully all plants will be heavily seeded. Here the vibe currently. There is always one problem child as you can see she isn't ecstatic about life but she will pull through. The rest looks better since getting a feed and getting the lights at the correct height. Looks better to me unless someone can see something i can't. Have a goodie.

Update on the fem seed run. All have been pollinated and will get another round one by one next week. Here are some pics of the seeds developing.
Spider mites are outta hand but waiting until second pollination before I spray them down with pyrol or similar.

Here is one of my camping cupboards with another 110w LED. Busy with a reveg SSH x? With some Durban in there somewhere. She will go outside into one of the barrels in early November or late October. All depends on how balsy I am with the timing. Here she is
20221006_124207.jpg

Next up is Holly's Harvest. Probably my favorite all time plant. Just biding her time to go out into the biggest barrel. The one currently growing is not showing me enough vigor so likely she will get pulled and replaced with this stinky beauty. Just started training her. She was a clone.
20221006_124210.jpg
Then we have another Malawi landrace
20221006_124216.jpg

And finally in this tent a bud that I cloned at harvest from my winter crops. She is a top shelf high so busy revegging her and hopefully she can go out to flower in Jan. Here she is
20221006_124235.jpg

Everything in this tent has been sprayed with pyrol hence the leaves look a little too shiny.

Here are two buds from the different phenos that I grew outside over winter. First one is the same as the bud I am revegging and the second was the chunkier one which I also have a bud revegging but not pictured.
Both are electric highs that are super clear. The less dense (first pic) is a little stronger but the second one is nothing to laugh at and hits hard and instantly.
Here ya go

Heading out to the deck shortly so more pics to follow of the real action (well for me anyways as I like them big and heavy). Before I get to that here is a plant that grew late in winter that after smelling her I have to keep her. She smells sweet, really sweet and like jasmine. So I dug her up and put her into a smaller pot under the cfls to get her reveg on....
She simply smells too good to toss. She wouldn't have finished outside and I wanted the pot for an auto (shock and horror) more on that to come. The flowers are not stacked as she sprouted and grew through the coldest months .

Here is the deck
First up 3 Holly's Harvests. The bigger one was not performing to my standards so I planted two more. I'll probably take clones of the two sprouts or dig them up and finish them indoors. The one currently indoors will go into this pot.
I planted some sweetpeas Over winter and they are starting to flower now.

The Double Wild Durban is killing it and thisnis the type of growth i expect in my garden after a month. Anything less gets culled

I had a really strong SSH whatnot going that showed male so he got pulled. Now I am just rocking the cover crops until the reveg from earlier pics goes into the barrel.

Finally two Miss Sticky plants that popped up in the fabric bag with the big malawi.
Both got dug up and potted into their own pots just to see what comes of them. They were pollinated by some random pollen last harvest so curious more than anything
Here they are
20221006_131811.jpg
20221006_131805.jpg

They look a bit beaten as only transplanted yesterday so they should pick up in the coming days.
Here are two pots waiting for seeds to break the surface
One is a gorilla glue no 4 auto ( thought I would try one first time but don't see myself growing more) and then a photo strain called frosted marmalade which is a cross of deluxe sugarcane and Tropicana cookies.
It's bred by a local breeder so why not for some variety. She was planted two days ago in a makeshift fabric pot made with two shopping bags. Not yet broken but we have had some showers today which seems to really get the germination going outdoors more so than just watering.
Oh and for those that don't know me, I am ruthless with seeds. They go into their final pot and then germinated. Nature style no paper towels etc. Just into the soil before it rains and a light wetting. Get about 95% germination rate this way which is fine for me

Wow LR, so much going on. As usual they all looking like they're thriving, despite the spider mites on the plants going to seed. Does pyrol kill the mites? That purple on that little Malawi is interesting. The outside girls look so happy in their big pots. I have a particular fondness for reveggers and that little one is cute... can't wait to see what she becomes. Happy season LR, hope these cold days will soon be over.
