A few pictures from the weekend. Gorilla Zkittles, French Macron and Pink Kush. All very nice but the FM is just incredible. Best flavoured rosin I’ve had so far.

Thanks I’m on it on that bud , let’s see what happens! We are up to 4000 psi . Bubbling out the back. Six minutes right now .

6mins is a long time!
Try to start with a 1minute warm up with the bag at 1/4 pressure and then ramp up the pressure when you see the release of Rosin. When squeezing around 200°F I wouldn’t extend the press time pass 3minutes due to possible degradation of the rosin.

Smoke report maybe it was too big a piece , it’s couch lock with jelly legs . Didn’t knock me out so lm good . Thanks for all of the support you guys that was cool !

Rosin is a tasty treat but packs a punch! Glad your enjoying it so far !

Longer works better in my opinion. But I agree that there is a relationship between temp and time.

All that material is compacted into a small puck.

(Optional) I cut my bags at a 40/60ish split. I can now use one bag for two squish’s. Mind you puck size.

Press and cook it off for 5ish minutes.

Collect your spoils.

This morning country hippie and company wants in on a press hearing . They found me last night on GTs thread . I made three runs this morning, we are waiting on the two peckerheads from Arkansas .
First I did Chris’s 4 grams and I did 1-1/2 minutes at 1000psi then worked my way up to 3000psi in in 3 minutes 30 seconds total time .

Second I did BobbyZ 14 grams on the foot press ! 1000psi for 1-1/2 minutes and finished at 6 minutes even up to 4000psi.

Oops

Third I did 7 grams at 210 degrees at 1000psi for 1 minutes then slowly brought it to 4000psi in 3 minutes total.

MORE pressure in my opinion. But I don't go by pressure gauges.
You have to become a rosin whisperer...
Listen and feel what the puck, bag, and press are telling you, not a hypothetical pressure number. That's only useful once you fully understand your materials. Don't even pay attention to PSI until your nailing it! You have to bust a few bags so you understand the limits.

Hold onto your spent pucks for a wash, once you get enough.

Yield is definitely strain related. My Nightingale has a very low return, while Crown Royale had a good return.

As Old Salt said it is strain related, my Cheese, great flavor but poor yield, 0.8 grams average. The LSD is about 1.2 grams average and the G13 Haze is 1.6 plus grams, that's all base on a 7 grams puck.

This would be a combination of heat and duration on the press.

I would try to avoid pressing for longer than 2-3mins at anything over 200°F

When you Lower in temps you can squeeze for a longer duration

It's never happened... That's my point.

I usually run about 5min minimum

If it's still bubbling out I let it go till it's done

Usually at 200f, which per my $250 temp gun is really at 190f ish
