Kanno 26 - 2x ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO - SIP/Soil/80x80 - 2x Purple Queen

Hello all growers, I'm back and the purple queen has leveled up. I let it dry and gave it a good rinse with clean PH adjusted water and I think that helped it. Today she is at the end of 9 weeks in vegetables and I will switch her to flower today. I ran the @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO at 100% power and we'll see what that does to it. Here are some photos.

That yellowing is a cal mag deficiency starting in my opinion. If it were me I’d try upping the cal mag. She could also be greener. Maybe some kelp or seaweed type product?? Her canopy is sweet. Big plant. She’ll be okay. Just needs a little tlc.

Still looked a little unhappy, hope flipping can change the situation. :goodluck:

Hello everyone, I hope you are well? The Purple Queen has leveled up and started doing her job and is starting to reach for the @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO which is running at 100% and I have to say it is working great, I was afraid that 300w for one plant would be too much but so far it looks like I was wrong and it will work. Otherwise, the RH in the tent is 60% and the temperature is 26.5 degrees Celsius, which I think is an ideal climate. This is what the queen looks like on the third day in bloom. What do you think about it?
Here is one view from below and is really dense.

And this is how it looks from above, it may seem a little yellow, but I think it distorts the light like that.

Hello all growers, I'm almost at the end of the first week in bloom with my purple queen. Which flew out to meet the @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO and even my "X" from @Jon couldn't hold it. But I think it is nicely laid out and light falls on every piece. And this is what it looks like today after watering, she only got clean water with adjusted PH, 2 liters went through the soil and another 2 liters into the reservoir.

It looks great @Kanno26. I think the X helped. Your canopy pretty much fills the tent, which was the point. You’re going to have gigantic colas on those gorgeous long stems.

Hey everyone, just a quick update on the Purple Queen halfway through her second week in flower and here's the XS1500 PRO giving her something to do.

Wow. Great job. So I know you want to keep your leaves. For what it’s worth, here’s one thing you could do at this point that would improve your yield and buds without having to take a single leaf….

If you took some small stakes of some sort (you’ve seen my skewer/plant wire ones) and made the wire part long enough, if you wanted you could stake along the edges of the pot all around and then attach the other end to individual branches. Then you use the stakes to pull the branches out some and make the plant even wider. It’s super easy, you’ve seen me do it ad infinitum.

What this would do is get significantly more light to each branch, and more light to the lower buds of the plant - all without taking a single leaf. It will also help a lot with air flow and humidity maintenance. One plant in a small tent like this can sometimes sweat so much that RH can become an issue. The bottom line is you’d get more, better, and denser buds, as that’s what more light does!

Just a thought for you @Kanno26. She’s amazing as she is.

Hi @Jon thanks for the tip. You have in mind the skewers with the binding wire at the ends. And what if I used a net on the top of the plant to spread the queen it wouldn't work the same. What do you think?

Sounds like six one and a half dozen of another to me. You get it. The idea is to spread her. The net would work great!

Hi @Jon, what do you say? Could that work?

Hey @Kanno26 …. Yup, sure will. You can use that screen to spread them out as wide as you want. Are they still stretching? If so and you stretch them wide enough you may still get some extra branching. If they’re post stretch, then just open the plant up as wide as you like using the screen and however much you’re comfortable. I would suggest that the wider you go the better, both for potential side branching and also to eliminate the need for defoliation while allowing light to the lower buds, which is pretty much the point of this whole exercise, lol. It will also help with air flow (respiration!). Good job! I’ll be psyched to see how you do with it.

So far they are stretching and the ends of the branches are quite flexible, I will continue to do this and see what I can achieve. Thanks for the tip @Jon. :high-five:

gr8 job k. Amazing call you made deciding to flush... and you were correct. Well done. I've not been around but am now. plant does look a little hungry for some N. I like to spike P at flip. But you're there and I'm not, plus you have great judgement.

Welcome @ReservoirDog, I'm glad you're here in my journal. She was before the dressing she received today. So let's see what it does ;).

Hello everyone, so here I am with another update on the Purple Queen which has successfully completed its second week in bloom. And so far I manage to fill the 80x80 tent and @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO helps a lot, which thanks to the expansion started pulling the branches from the bottom of the plant and fills it beautifully. Well, this is what it looks like there.

You did a really good job with this plant, especially when you consider that you tried a new and untested training method with the X. Can’t wait to see her bud out.
