gently part the new tip growth a couple of times a day. I start doing this right away, so my third node and topping point is up really quickly. This also gets me to be able to top really young and on a very micro scale so the plant hardly misses a beat! .

Ok I've just done it. there was a tiny bit of new growth just hiding underneath thanks. i should of done that from day one, oh well.

I hit the third node and as soon as there's enough tip formed to bend down so it pops off, I go for it. (If like me your eyes are a bit shot then maybe under a magnifier)
The other thing I do as I'm always confident in getting the topping correct, is to take off all lower limbs. This focuses all growth to your 2 flux arms.
Please don't stress though, that's just me, I've done it a few times now lol

So are you saying cut the first set of leaves off now ? Or are leaves not limbs ? Sorry if that sounds stupid. Im confident with topping ive done it enough by now,
