Nerfbanes First Ever Grow 2013

Bombastically bushy bhang, brother! That's going to be one beautiful cake of buddage, certainly can't wait!
Looks like a proper good grow space to me. Maybe you could bend her a bit to the left, looks like you got a bit space left there, unless maybe you have reserved it for something else?

Thanks for the positive vibes guys :)

Yup going across there is plenty of room, but depth is the problem. Once I took out the branches that were underdeveloped it was pretty obvious that space had became an issue. It'd be easier to post a pic.

I keep wandering in there with a razor blade LA, but I can't see a leaf that isn't directly feeding a new growth site! It's just so damn tight in there. And my girl has *nothing* on yours! How many heads is she sporting now? 160? 180? :)

Thanks Chib :) I have had a lot of goth GF's over the years so I'm used to overwhelming purple.

It's that time of the week peeps, photo time!

First, the traditional purple starter. Notice the white bits what are new.

This shot here is why I need a bigger tent. This is what was left at the back of the plant after removing the toothpick sized stuff growing there.

It's horrible!

This ain't though.

I've been tucking leaves back in to the plant with the occasionally leaf cut when I though it was safe, and that's helped I think, but I really don't want to cut the wrong thing and stop a bud site getting it's goodness. But I'm gonna have to get knifey this weekend, which is the end of the 4th flowering week.

How's she looking experienced peeps?

Ok I dived in with a razor, followed this advice from bassman :

I start plucking leaves relentlessly! Damn near any fan leaf that is not directly attached to a new node that has developed it's own leaves gets plucked. If a corresponding node has not really developed it's leaf yet, I don't pluck that fan. Don't worry, you can come back to it later in the week.

Then I cut up a pile of old pastic coated coathangers and started bending, and this is what I ended up with.

I decided to pull as many branches around to cover it's bald spot (the Trump Technique). You can see the lights reflecting up from the white plastic so there is a lot more penetration, and the plastic reflects that light back up. It's still a bit crowded on one side, but a whole lot less all over. I found it weird but the tallest branch was one of the side ones and not the center one. Pulled down the bottom branches to the pot, then used them branches to secure the next ones down, so I keep any pressure off the roots, didn't want to pull them out of the hydroton and kill it.

The big problem with this plant is the total lack of symmetry with it's branch growth. It's worse than a Picasso.

Well, I can't argue with his and your results my man :) The bending doesn't phase me at all, there's a winery in the family so I've done a lot of shaping of branches. I wish cannabis had a longer life cycle, I'd try what my folks used to do with the fruit trees, and graft limbs from one plant to a different variety to see what happened to the fruit.

Greetings good people, sorry for the lack of updates lately, life has been a little hectic. Not much to report, all been smooth sailing health wise for the lady. So here be some piccies :)

I think she's coming along pretty nicely, but I wish I had of done some shaping earlier. Week 6, so not long now till she's ready. Gonna get me a jewelers eyepiece from somewhere so I can watch the colour changes in the trichs.
