New grow (grow B) SD & ATF

OK, they are a bit late, but here is last week's pictures. They are some nice bud shots...

This is a multi-top bud in the group...

There we go... Since these are like a week old I will try to photograph them again tonight or tomorrow...

they look great man cant wait to see what they look like now!
:peace:

I am using 1000W Sodium HIDs. The particular ballasts I am using are actually rated at 1200W which basically amounts to driving 1000W bulb VERY hard. I have a single 1000W MH HID that I put a conversion bulb in if I need it for bloom. I also use a couple shop lights with grow tubes in them for cloning and a T-5 flouro for mothering.

Well, you just happened to ask a question I can answer. I have a degree in electronics and have been an electrician for years before... First off I think you may mean "how many amps do they use?". There are two main equations we use:

Ohm's Law and Watt's Law. The one we use for this question is Watt's Law. To figure amps we manipulate the basic equation to read: I=P/E. I=current (amps). P (watts)/E=voltage comes out to: 1000W/240V= 4.16A. If I were running them off of 120V it would come out to: 1000W/120V=8.33A. My sodiums are rated at 1200W, so 1200W/240V=5A. If they were powered by 120V it would be 1200W/120V=10A.

Well, I saw the comparison with the 100 watt hps and wondered how much more or less efficient the ballasts get as the wattage goes up. The reason the ballast may be 1200 watts is to get the 1000 watts to the bulb after the ballast has used what is needed in the ballast.

So they give no rating other then amperage?

I just looked up some specs on a 1000 watt ballast and it says 90% of the ballast is what you get in the lamp. So if the ballast is 1200 watts, 120 watts is taken by the ballast. Is this right? It must get more efficient as the wattage goes up if a 100 watt hps uses 38 watts for the ballast (or you could say wastes 38 watts) and a 1000w only uses 100 watts, unless the ballast was just badass :)

My hands have been full the last few nights with selective harvesting, but I am snapping a few photos here and there. As soon as things slow back down a little I will post them. So far harvest has been great, but as far as letting these plants grow larger this time around (4 ft. as opposed to 3 ft.) I am not noticing any real gains. This is due to the fact of light penetration through the canopy... It just can only penetrate so far, especially when they (plants) are all packed together. The addition of a carb synthesizer was a good move. Trichome development is very nice.

cant wait to see some bud porn from yah kick!
:peace:

i agree with Boss. you BETTER post some pron up.lol im feinding :thedoubletake:

lol 'there is a god of pot!'

OK, here are a couple shots taken during the current harvest which is underway currently.

This is a shot of the nine I follow (minus 1)...

Here is a shot of my "favorite" that I have been following...

And a shot of the "twins", the double-ATF I have been following...

I will post some of the hanging plants next.

oh my! great job bro!! i know youre going to take close up of the ATF right?:cheesygrinsmiley:fantastic grow man!
