Old Fart's Grow

I have a ph meter, no ppm meter yet, that's next on the agenda. I also am going to get some ( fabric ) dirt pots and maybe a bit of coco to mix in for my next grow. I also added a few pieces of aluminum under the pots to help dry the soil a bit, help with drainage.

I love my fabric pots (smart pots). I know there are some that don't care for them, but they have done me well and my girls. I don't care for plastic pots... and well, you know what happens if you give your ladies plastic.. wait, that's a whole nother story.

. Now that is funny, but perhaps we should leave the plastic stories for another day!

Sorry Old Fart for slipping a little off topic, but was mostly praising smart pots over plastic pots.
I will try to control myself in the future.

I think I am winning. Probably only 3-4 weeks from harvest, the buds are slowly fattening up, and while it may not be a large amount I don't believe I will be able to do any permanent damage To them in that time. They really have a strong smell, glad I got a filter. Here in Canada our govt is in the process of legalizing it ( news expected tomorrow actually ). While it still will probably take another year it is good to see that it is finally in the works. I think that once the bill is introduced, while it will still be illegal enforcement will be minimal.
Not that I am too concerned anyway, as I am an Old Fart and we tend to fly under the cannabis radar.

Pics aren't great under led but I have company coming over and if I take them from the tent they will stink the house up. They have an odd lemony chemical type smell, not something I am familiar with but not unpleasant, just very strong.

Those buds are looking good, Old Fart! :goodjob:
So you don't think your guests will like your new lemony fresh air freshener? Guess you just can't please everybody, eh?

Day 61. Pistils are turning orange, and I believe it will be harvest time soon. Due to poor planning on my part I have a two week holiday planned but I will have them watered sparingly while I am away and harvest when I get back. Despite only being one day apart one is farther along than the other and it will be interesting to see the difference in potency. While I am pleased with the results I will definitely be changing a number of things in my next effort. I am going to try some industrial plant auto cbd.

Looks good Old Fart. Have you been checking the trichomes? They are your gauge for harvesting. :allgood:

I have a hard time holding my little micro steady but it looks to me like they are just starting to get cloudy on the plant which seems to be a bit farther along and clear on the other one.

Yeah, My hands aren't the steadiest either. When you start to see amber you are close to flush time. They just might be ready by the time you get back from your holiday. Enjoy, my friend.
:high-five:

Day 80. All the fan leaves have died off and the trichomes are cloudy so I harvested my plants this morning. I actually dried a small bud on my barbecue yesterday (low heat, about 125) and it was awesome, not harsh and as good as anything I have smoked in a long time. I am hoping for good things once it is dried and cured properly. As far as yield I have no idea but it seemed ok, the shorter stubbier plant had bigger buds. Once it is dried I will weigh it to give me some kind of a benchmark for future grows. All in I have really enjoyed the whole experience and am pleased with the results. A big thanks for all the help and encouragement I have received. It makes a big difference!
