Rifleman's - Multi-Strain Auto Grow - 600W - Hydro

I thought Choppy was your middle name?

I'm not really sure on any of it OG. I was in first grade before anyone called me anything other than DamnItBoy. The teacher thought I was hard of hearing because I'd never respond when she called my name. It took me half a year to realize she didn't know my name and kept calling me some other kid's name. I just played along for the next 12 years.:rofl::rofl:

So much for Exp. I'm reading that as male...anyone want to adopt? :) I must have 2K of these bag seeds and every dang one I've grown out has been male. Tomorrow will be a busy day, killing Exp and cleaning the bucket and hydroton, transplanting AL, marking gallon levels on the giant tote, prepping for a Sour Crack, and finding a good formula for canna-coco oil. Almost too much for an old pothead to get accomplished in a day. :biglaugh: I see the oil getting made...and some brownies. After that anything that gets done will be icing on the cake. yuuummmmmmy cake and brownies

People are making their way with feminized seeds, you can be the first for a niche in masculinized seeds...big suckers! JK :)

Day 96 photos of ST and BK. Still no amber. During the water change today I diagnosed the problem with BK...her roots. The root ball is so large that it completely fills the space between the bottom of the bucket and bottom of the basket. The air inlet is blocked with roots. A 6 inch taller bucket would be the answer to that problem. Rearranged the tent so that the upcoming dda will be closer to the light and to make it easier to move around without getting grabbed by a sticky limb.

Amber patrol resumes on Monday... <sigh>

How long have you been flushng for?

TBH Ozbud I don't flush. I haven't gown anything long enough to find a strain I *really* like, much less get one dialed into a time line where I can predict when it'll be ready. I might try to flush ST, but more likely I'll get ripped and chop her down on a whim. I envy soil growers that can mostly go by a breeders timeline.

With a slick enough 30 minute high pressure infomercial, a web site with hairy ass claims and a paid endorsement by a "C" list celeb, a man could make millions selling "Super Size Porn Star Masc Seeds" before the well dried up and the word got around. Newbies alone would account for 3/4 of the purchases. A full page ad in HT and in six months I'll be able to retire my whole family.:rofl:

That got me laughing with tears now, and I am sitting here all alone. You are too much RM :)

OK Sir

As promised, here is how I make coconut oil extract for capsules and cooking. Thought I would publish it here rather than a PM in case somebody else might be interested. You have a great day dude and thanks for the great laugh last night :)
Ok, so basically my recipe revolves around both trim and AVW (already vaped weed). I have never added kief, but would love to.

Hand crumble your well dried trim into small pieces, put an even layer in a shallow baking pan and cover with aluminum foil

DecarbTrim - at 250 degrees for 30 minutes in an oven. Not sure about kief decarb. Let cool to room temperature while still sealed with aluminum foil,

Fine grind the decarbed trim. I use a coffee bean grinder. Weigh your ground trim.

My formula can vary depending on the material, but as a general rule it is 3 parts decarbed plant material by weight to 7 parts coco oil by weight. If after cooking awhile I think it needs to be a little looser, I'll add more oil and cook a bit longer. I use my AVW material the same way, only don't have to decarb it :)

So, if you need 1/3 cup (76 grams), round to 80...

80 gr / 7 = 11.4 x 3 = 34 grams of plant material needed. Probably a good idea to use more of each just to be sure you have enough for your brownies. Leftovers are always good if you don't use it all.

Put 34 grams of decarbed plant material in a mason jar. Add 80 gr of coco oil then lightly seal with cap.

Prepare a "double boiler" pot with water and heat to 190 - 200 F. I use a double boiler so there is less likelihood of the jar coming in contact with the bottom of the pot where it gets too hot. I monitor the temp with a candy thermometer in the water. Place your sealed jar in the 200 degree bath for... I have never heated too long, but I have heated too little. I'd say at least 4 hours, I have gone as long as 12...longer the better IMO, but never over 210 degrees. Open the jar and stir occasionally and if your gut tells you to add more oil, do so. This oil amount seems to vary depending on the material and its resin content, ie the more resin, the less coconut oil needed.

In the end what I look for is about 1/4" of green oil visibly floating over the plant material. With 34 grams of plant material, once squeezed with a press yields me enough for about 30 capsules. My doctor says "take as many caps a day as needed for whatever ails you". You need to be able to squeeze the majority of the oil out of the material in order to have a good final extract yield.

Here is how I get it out of the jar and into an empty canna oil jar. The YouTube video dude used handkerchiefs to strain the material. It works better than anything I have ever used and you get a very clean extract...no pant material at all. Walmart has cheapy handkerchiefs I buy and cut into 1/4s.

I take 1/4 piece, put it over the mouth of a small mason jar and poke in a little pouch into the jar until the edges of the handkerchief barely surround the lip of the jar, then lock it on with the lid locking ring (without the top. This creates a staining pouch where you pore your plant material into and the oil strains to the bottom of the clean jar. I apply light pressure with a spoon to the plant material being careful not to push the handkerchief into the jar (that can ruin your day). This should get about 1/2 of the oil.

I then remove the jar lid ring (or whatever it is called) and carefully fold the edges of the chief over the material, put the little surrounded with chief plant material ball into a lemon/lime hand juice squeezer and squeeze the hell out of it to get the rest of the oil in the jar. I got a sturdy squeezer at William Sanoma that works well for this.

Then voila! Canna oil. For caps, I use an eyedropper and a capsule holder I made...and a steady hand. I use "00" size veggie caps I get at Natural Grocers. My caps are potent!

Wish I had pics, but maybe I can send that next time I make a batch. Good luck and have fun RM!

I started this project way back on post #253 of this journal. It's time to finish it. I modified the 7 gallon airpot so that the drip ring will fit through it, graduated gallon markings on my water level indicators, and made room for the pump's elec cord to fit through. With the ten inch net pot taking the place of the airpot bottom the DIY top feed dwc combo is ready to be put together. For less than $100 US. The airpot and pump accounting for 80% of the cost. I'll put AL into this soon but continue to hand water her until ready to put her into flowering. The transplant etc will be covered in my new journal, link below. :)

Bravo on a top build! :)

Thanks LA. I'm too frugal to go out and buy ready made kits and nobody is offering any sponsored items so I just wing it. :biglaugh: Seriously, thank you. I appreciate your comments.:)

Day 53 for Exp was his last. I chopped him off at the base today. BK is looking worse and worse. She is yellowing and getting crispy and showing different deficiencies in different areas. Her roots are choking off the air inlet and she is killing herself. Anyone who has even done hydro in bubble buckets knows how loud it is, well all you can hear from her bucket is " fwipp, fwipp" , and when I remove the airline the water is slow to rise in the tube. She gets only water from now until Sunday, and then chop chop.:) I'll continue with ST as long as she looks well and there isn't any amber. She drank 4 qts today. I was hoping for a staggered harvest and it looks like I'll have it.

Day 99

Another 3 quarts of diluted nutrient solution for ST, 6 quarts of plain water for BK today. Spent the rest of the day sitting in the sun on the porch. Last night, in a slightly medicated state, I put my harvest, butter maker, and Ghirardelli brownie mix to work. So after taking care of the watering needs this morning, breakfast was a glass of oj and a 1 x 3 inch brownie. Feeling good I was an hour later, sparked a doobie and damn !:yikes: If the brownie lit the fuse the doobie was the expolsion. I had trouble walking for the next couple of hours, and could barely read 420 for the blurry vision. :biglaugh: Good big or go home....and sit on the porch crosseyed.

Sweet Tooth is waving at you. :byebye:

Hey Rifle! Yesterday was a good porch sitting day over here too! Unfortunately I'm trying to get my waterline dug in from the well. I'd have it done if I didn't keep on hitting limestone boulders! We are almost out at the farm full time. I have been living vicariously through your grows until I get my own thing going on again! As always, Best of luck in all you grow!

I hope you've got a trackhoe or some det-cord. :) Im glad you're enjoying the grow. BK has been getting plain water only since last water change, and her final surgery is planned for Monday evening. Chop! Chop chop! :partyboy: Have a surgical nurse friend coming over to assist so it'll be a party. :hmmmm: I wonder if we can eat a brownie and finish before....well, before we can't. Brownies might have to wait until half way through. I can't even read 90 min after one of them, much less harvest and record weights and photos. Stay tuned.

Always nice to have help at that phase. I like growing but harvesting in my opinion really sucks. It is kind of like with fishing, great till you land them and have to clean and cook them, then the work begins

Still no amber to be seen on either ST or BK. The water only diet continues for BK. I smell her fear each time I open the tent. :biglaugh:
You sure that is BK's fear you smell or one of Roscoes old stale farts still lingering from the other day?:laughtwo:

My WWs are on schedule with your BK. I only have time for a 1 week flush. How long do you flush RM? I use Sour D carbs in the water. Do you add anything to the water or just straight up?

I don't normally flush JW. And BK isn't really getting flushed. She got nutrients last water change and plain water since then, so I expect to her ppm to still be somewhere in the 400 zone. Right now ST is still being fed m,g,b, bud candy, over drive, and a couple other things from the AN line. If I ever see a smattering of amber on her I might try a true last week flush on her. I'm basically winging it like a lazy grower does. :)

Oh its fear OG. I do my best to keep the mangey mutt away from the garden. He isn't shy and will piss anywhere he takes a notion...and that is pretty much anywhere he hasn't been lately. Ergo the garden is a no fly zone.
