Almost there, can get those feet up soon 👌🤣 did you say you was going to cull a couple and scrog the rest of them?
Some nice branching more than ready for clones too 😎
Nah I'm going scrog on all of them, let's see what they'll do! I will probably let them stretch and then install the scrog net. I think some of them will take off during stretch and will need supercropping.

We'll see maybe I need to cull one or two that doesn't stretch and fill out as the others.

Morning and feeding to runoff! 400ppm / 0.8 pH 6.0-6.5 EC three times daily. I raised the light all the way to the top and increased to 400w which will be final wattage this run. Got temperature up which was the goal, it will increase growth and let them acclimate to the new light before flower.

No undesired stretch, two of them are way picky on food and are very low feeders like sativa dom. Give them a little bit to much food and they start to complain.

Hope everyone is doing well! Cheers!

Morning and feeding to runoff! Took two cutting of each last night and put them in the cloner tray with a little bit of bloom nutes and 3ppm chlorine. Let's check back on them in a week! Doing the flip today!

pH is running low so I adjusted to pH 7.0 and checked runoff. Runoff reading confirmed that runoff is 0.8 points below input at about 6.2, that's with some of the old plant food left with lower pH. I aim to have a runoff of 6.3-6.5 with a downward drift.

I've been seeing some minor Mg def symptoms that's a tale tail of low pH in the medium. If had friend who after we troubleshooted for a couple of weeks needed to feed at pH 8.5 to not see any pH related deficiencies. That was in peat/promix. Coir is a little more forgiving but it takes a long time for the medium to really settle.

I will keep taking pH readings on either from the runoff trays or straight from the plant pots.

@NickHardy represent eh?

Clones are perky and happy in the cloner.

No more watering by hand and doing the flip tonight! Love auto feed, watering more even than what I would ever be patient enough to do myself. Still feeding 400ppm / 0.8 EC at pH 7.0.

I will setup the timer today for the irrigation. 30 seconds 3 times during lights on and one during lights out. Unsure about the volume to each but they get enough runoff at every feeding. The most important thing is to keep cycle the medium and not letting it go dry in coco coir. Feedings will be as follows:

16:00
21:00
02:00
10:00

I will have to increase that in a couple of weeks but this is were we start.

More sourcery! I just looked back as I thought you was in larger pots 🤣 so your up pot pictures you said your up potting into 1gal pots but the effing rootball to hand ratio looked like a 1gal rootball already 🤣 but now your saying your watering for 30s to get run off 😮 them pumps must move some water!

Q: how do you guage your fertigations at this stage? do you measure time to run off or give them hi Freq to get them used to it?

I go by how the new growth looks, weight and surface of the pots. I take runoff readings a couple of times a week from the pots to know if I'm in range(pH 6.3-6.5 and 0.3 EC) above input, otherwise I check the runoff trays which is also a good point to monitor and measure pH. The more often I'm able to feed the more stable pH and EC are in the pots.

When they start to look lighter in color I try to add another feeding instead of increasing nutrient strength. It's a play of finding the lowest optimal in my point of view to promote mineral sensitivity and as a result better growth rates in the plants. Less is more!

Cheers brother, I was actually thinking to add another fertigation during lights on to try balance my run off PH.. so glad you mentioned they 👍 Im still on the lower 5's but still refusing to feed at over 6.4 🤣
Changing my timer tonight so first reading tomorrow night 👊

So buy the guides I read which make sense and work. Fertigations can be calculated by pot size and time for correct amount of run off. But I'm really pushing for the more tailored side of things to a plants needs. Cheers

I keep taking runoff readings on the control plant and runoff still comes out low. I'm increasing input to 1.6 EC from 0.8 until the medium settles, that usually take some weeks of feeding. They are eating more and look hungry.

800ppm / 1.6 EC in, 425ppm / 0.85 EC pH 7.0 in pH 6.3 out.

0.85 EC is still withing range for this stage but I want to increase that slightly. I put them on 6x feeding a day right away to faster let them settle and to make sure they're fed enough at this stage. They are gonna take off in the upcoming days.

Steam punk Control panel, oh well as long as it works well! Push the switch to ON god damn it! 😂

They're being fed as follows:

16:00
19:00
21:00
01:00
04:00
10:00

Happy girls, albeit slightly hungry!

Cheers!

Man they are looking great!!
Thanks bud! Your girls are filling out great to!

I'm mixing up some plant food. Start with the 5-12-26 and add boiling water:
IMG_20240315_170758000.jpg

36g 5-12-26 mixed. Then add that to a 3 gallon bucket with source "base" water:
IMG_20240315_181248498_HDR.jpg

Only 0.12 EC.
IMG_20240315_170921426.jpg

24g Calcium nitrate
IMG_20240315_171000297.jpg

Almost completely clear when mixed.
IMG_20240315_171133133.jpg

12g Epsom salt that looks like water mixed.
IMG_20240315_180652014.jpg

4.6 EC on the 3-2-1 mix.
IMG_20240315_181344960_HDR.jpg

Potassium silicate in a pet bottle. I add about 50-75ppm of this which gives me 25-35ppm residual silicate.
IMG_20240315_181859159_HDR.jpg

Potassium silicate added.
IMG_20240315_181909822_HDR.jpg

Ca/Mg solution up to 0.35 EC. Continuing in next post... To be continued! Cheers!

IMG_20240315_182251622.jpg

Ca/Mg added.
IMG_20240315_182728065_HDR.jpg

Then base up to 1.6 EC, sorry for the blurry pic.
IMG_20240315_182811942_HDR.jpg

Humic/kelp 5:2 mix. Two capsules to 3 gallons.
IMG_20240315_182901244.jpg

Always liked the swirl!
IMG_20240315_182946639.jpg
IMG_20240315_183051831_HDR.jpg

1ml of 5% bleach to 6 gallons of nutrient solution, 2ppm residual chlorine.
IMG_20240315_183645401.jpg

Close enough. I don't bother pHing at this stage since pH is falling in the medium. I'm upping the feeding frequency to raise pH of the medium and also to faster saturate it with minerals giving me higher EC on the runoff.
IMG_20240315_183904270.jpg

Plants before second feeding. Updating with EC pH measures in 10 minutes.

First runoff from the control plant came out 0.7 EC out. Way off from input 1.6. That's from me not setting the timer correct last night and they missed two feedings when I was asleep.
IMG_20240315_190023572.jpg

Timer finally works!

Second runoff reading came out better and with a upward curve:

800ppm / 1.6 EC in, 500ppm / 1.0 EC out. pH 6.7 in, pH 6.3 out, also stabilizing. Both are still within range at this stage.

Updating in 3 hours with third runoff reading for the day!

Cheers and all the best!

IMG_20240315_220100792.jpg

IMG_20240315_225152319.jpg

Added some side support to combat negative pressure. Third runoff reading came out:

800ppm / 1.6 EC in, 550ppm / 1.1 EC out. pH 6.7 in, pH 6.3 out.

I decreased the pump cycle time to 25 seconds from 30. I get more than enough runoff so I'm backing off. Still dialing in things, first time using these pumps.

Cheers!

Filling out! Looks happier and more vibrant today! They have really started to take off! Taking third runoff reading in a couple of hours. They are taking the increased strength and frequency well.

You are like the Macgyver of growing weed it's awesome 😄 you must be an engineer or something? My stoner ass wouldn't be able to figure out all that automation and switches but I love it ! Makes things so much easier which is awesome, I'm loving how the plants are coming along also :rollit:
Loved Macgyver growing up! Watched it everyday after school.

I've always been curious and I work with machining and electronics.

Thanks bud and great to have you follow along!

Cheers! :peacetwo:

WoW Wastei you have some nice- and healthy-looking plants. :thumb: 🍋
Thanks Keith! They are really stretching their legs for sure! I have a lot of work a head of me in the upcoming weeks!

Cheers bud! :rollit:
