Tyson's 4x4 ScrOG Feat: Mimosa In DWC 2019

8/15/19 11:30 pm Day 83 (15F)
temp 79 rh 65% ec 1.1 ph 5.8 co2 1150
night temp 69 rh 54% water temp 67

The budsites are underway! Changing out the res tomorrow to week 3 nutes which are the exact same except double the liquid koolbloom. I'll also change to the HPS Saturday. I lowered the day humidity to 65%. Everything's looking good.

in, this will be a great and helpful read to help me on my way!
Glad to have ya! I thought our grows were somewhat similar. I'm interested in your oxypot. Keep the screen as low as possible and keep tucking, and you'll be good.

That's the plan of I can keep it low I can have a better chance at a more dense canopy maybe, great thing with these oxy pots is they have a small valve at the base so I could flush with water ever so often to keep the pots super clean and fresh.

I added a 2nd layer to the scrog frame. I do this for 2 reasons. One is so that I have an easy surface to attach yo-yos or something in the event I need to support colas that are falling over. Two is to provide additional support against the tent walls so they don't suck in too much when the extraction fan is running. Its not that bad, but with colas wall to wall, I'm taking no chances.
I also included a pic of how I run my co2 line in the tent. Simply to the back of a pole-mounted fan. Disperses the co2 right above the canopy.

Looking impressive as per usual brother. :bravo:
Glad to see she’s kicking some pistils out, I am so looking forward to seeing tops stacked up in there. Can you post a bud pic again of your last Mimosa that you grew?
I was well impressed when I first saw it and it had me running to your journal to check your grow and I’m so glad I did.
How much co2 are you pumping in? I have easy access to co2 but never thought it could be worth the effort. Now that I’ve upgraded to a 4x8 I may consider pumping some co2 during bloom. What’s your thoughts?

8/20/19 11:30 pm Day 88 (20F)
temp 79 rh 65% ec 1.3 ph 6.1 co2 1150
night temp 69 rh 54% water temp 67

Hey everyone! It's been 4 days since I posted as I've been super busy with work and football starting soon, but I've also been tinkering with my grow so it's a good time for an update.
I had been lowering the ec in an attempt to find the plants desired range. At 1.1 ec (770ppm) after 3 days it dropped for the first time to 710. I knew this meant I needed to kick it back up. I raised it to 830 but after a day and a half it had slightly dropped to 810. So she's now at 890 which is roughly 1.3 ec and I will continue to monitor. Ideally I want the ppm rising slowly because it makes topping off much easier as you can use plain water to bring it back within range. It takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it, you only have to measure nutes once a week. I haven't gotten 100% perfect yet but I'm close.
I gave her another treatment of the fungicide, probably for the last time. I'm pretty sure you can use it up until harvest but if I'd rather not spray late in flower if I don't need to.
I switched to the 600w HPS on day 17 of flower, it has only added 1 degree F, to the temps, over the 600w MH, which I am pleasantly surprised about. My last grow it raised the temp like 4 degrees. Unfortunately the HPS makes pictures with my below-average phone look terrible, so because I love you guys, I'm changing out the bulbs when I take photos for each update. That way we watch the progress in real color. With my setup it's not as big of a pain as it could be so I don't mind. I also cleaned the glass for the hood. As you can see, they get dusty!
I changed out the booster fan I was using to exhaust, for a 6" hurricane inline. It does the job much better and is quieter.
She's still stretching. It was 1"/day for a while but she's only stretched 0.75" in the last 24 hrs so I'm hoping its slowing. The tallest tops are 14" above the screen.
The little budlets are starting the thicken up and there are plenty of them up and down the stalks. The smell isn't super strong yet but it is there, especially right after the lights come on.

Can you post a bud pic again of your last Mimosa that you grew?
I assume you're talking about the one I entered in June's NOTM contest. That was Mimosa x Clementine. I'll post it here, the next ones are of straight Mimosa. This particular nug is over 2 years old from harvest so a lot of her color has changed but she is sooo dense. I put her on the scale for reference. She's not a huge nug, so 3.65 grams is dense. I have a handful of larger buds from other strains, but none as dense as her. That's why I used this strain for scrog because of the yield potential. You can see a seed poking out from the bottom; that is a brother or sister of the current plant I'm growing.

How much co2 are you pumping in?
My controller maintains my co2 at 1150-1250 ppm. I didn't want to push her to the extreme until I'm absolutely dialed in. For my next grow I might increase the range to 1400-1500, but I would also increase the ambient temps by 5 degrees F.
I may consider pumping some co2 during bloom. What’s your thoughts?
Others will disagree, but I believe co2 is a waste if you're not using a sniffer and a controller. Using a timer is about as close as you can get but it's still crap in my opinion. You'll waste so much and it won't give you reliable, constant coverage. Co2 is one of those things that you either do right or not at all. I got a tank for $25, regulator for $30, and a Titan controller for $215. If you do it that way, a 20lb tank will last your 4x8 tent an entire grow if it's in a living space. If it's in a garage or something where people aren't, then you might need one refill during the grow.
Another big thing, is co2 is most beneficial in veg, especially when you can ramp up temps. A higher co2 concentration is only beneficial if the plant has a higher metabolism, we create this by raising the temp, which is easier in veg. I still use co2 in flower but pretty much discontinue after week 6-7. My grow room stays 900ppm or above tho even without supplementation.

8/23/19 11:30 pm Day 91 (23F)
temp 78 rh 63% ec 1.3 ph 6.3 co2 1150
night temp 69 rh 53% water temp 67

Time for an update! I changed the nutes out today for week 4's portions.

Per gallon,

1ml Armor Si
2ml Calmag
3ml Micro
1ml Grow
5ml Bloom
1ml Liquid KB
2ml Hydroguard
0.35ml pH up

She's still stretching, up to 17" from the screen now. It is slowing down, maybe another day or 2.

Just her. Little over 9 weeks of veg time. (planting to light flip)
Outstanding! When I saw that canopy I thought it was a couple of plants or so!

:adore:
