you guys are neck and neck looks like any ones game. there both amazing plants! Quick question. What is a kit plant?

listen2marley..."kit" plant is what we call member Doc bud's method of growing High Brix cannabis. It's a AG Lab designed and doc bud adjusted slightly for our herb group of organic amendments and drenches. We like to say the three M's. M.M.M. (microbes ,minerals, and magic.) There are alot of us growing like this and if you dig into it a little, you will see just how "special this produce is.It's on another level ! Cheers eh.:blunt:

That wasn't the best description ....any of the "gang" wanna jump in and explain further ,please feel free! Doc? ,Graytail, Curso thecanuck, tavosvo...! I've only bin at this method for three grows now ,so i'm still learning a few tricks and things with the "kit".Curso has alot of tuning experience with the soil and is real good at that ,Graytail ,is just pumping out the harvest's of fine H.B. produce at a an incredible rate ,all while keeping the most awesome journals on here.Tavosvo and the rest of the HB guys and gals really love growing this H.B. way. Cheers!

Yeah, what's a kit plant and what happens when we have equal votes at the end of the contest?

:smokin:

Amigo,
The kit you get it here, yaouu it be The Kit,
Start to think the Earth and all of the lord given Organic deposits, think earthworms, bat droppings, sea shell and sea organic matter, compost from hundreds years of aging. The end result is a healthy living soil like matter that has micro organisms alive and massivley working and that be the model of the earth rich in life but on a smaller scale where we grow our fruits of desire.

Have a good 1

What a weird name for how I already grow... strange. Why call it "kit"?

Dr. R.....Doc bud's "kit" Is strictly geared and designed for growing High Brix produce, not simply organic soil. The produce grown ..if done properly has a very high level of minerals and sugars .If youve ever had a tomatoe in the fridge that just seems to not go wrinkly or soft over time....the brix levels in it are high and it can resist desease and strife along with most other stress factors in nature.Bugs don't like high brix plants, plants stay healthier ,longer and the flavour and effects are amplified with plants that have a "higher Brix reading. That Mk of mine didn't have one burnt tip or one bad leaf a full 8 days past the breeder's longest E.T.A. I've been growing for just about 30 yrs. now ,and not once have i had that happen with any plants i have grown! If you do a little research on Doc bud's stuff you will see exactly what i mean.He has a few threads on here that are some really good reading and i highly recomend everyone that hasn't heard of "kit" plants take some time to find out.Cheers:circle-of-love:

Weird, I just don't get why they call it a kit plant still. I thought all organic gardeners grew for high brix levels, mineral content, and microlife.

I have my soils tested. I have test results on FFOF as well. I mineralize my soil with glacial rock dust, crushed granite, crab meal, oyster shell flower, etc etc. and water with teas, molasses, etc. etc. I just never knew it was someone's sales gimmick with a weird name, haha.

My plants look perfect too when they are repotted properly, have balanced Cal-Mag content with a little more manganese too and are not crawling with root aphids and fungus gnats. Three things I am currently working on without resorting to chemicals.

Its no gimmick. I buy a bale of promix hp, 30# bag of ewc and the kit and thats it. The kit is $75 and lasts well over a year. Since starting growing with docs kit i havent checked ph ppms or anything else. I havent added anything or adjusted anything. Its literally plant, feed, water and spray and if i feel so inclined to i check the brix levels every now and then and we (kit users) usually get high brix numbers. So theres no "gimmick" my friend, just top notch cannabis that is unrivaled in mine and other kit growers worlds. Oh and we never have bugs, molds, mildews or any other unwanted things happen in our rooms. We've become snobs to our own produce and we're proud of it. Make no mistake, those of us who use the kit would never resort back to any other style of growing...because it makes absolutely no sense to do so.

Can you link me to the kit? I got lost in all the jargon and posturing on that website I couldn't even find the product, I guess.
Or just tell me what's in it?

The Kit:

The End User will need the following:

3.8 cu ft bale of ProMix HP myco, or Sunshine #4 or Promix BX myco. Perlite can be added to the BX in order increase porosity for indoor growing.

20-40 pounds of organic worm castings that show an NPK of zero K. (1-1-0)

A proper growing environment, basic gardening skills, 7 gallon pots and a sprayer capable of putting out a fine spray.

The Products:

Drenches

Growth Energy: This product provides vegetative growth energy and bulking of fruit and flowers once formed.

Transplant: This product, being organic, slightly favors reproductive growth of seeds, flowers and fruit. It is used to feed the microbial colony in the soil and is used when tranplanting.

Cat Drench: This product highly favors reproductive growth and provides cations and the ammonia form of nitrogen, which strongly stimulate fruiting and flowering, as well as seed production.

All drenches are mixed at 1/2 ounce per 6 plants(30 sq. feet of garden space for those in raised beds) Applications up to 1.5 oz can be applied without harm, but very few plants require this much. Heavy feeders might try .75 oz before mixing stronger.

Foliar Sprays:

Brix: Sprayed every week to 10 days, this product encourages reproductive growth and essential oil and resin production.

De-Stress: This product helps plants heal, deal with stress and provides a broad spectrum of trace minerals. This can be sprayed 1-2 times per week when there are signs of plant stress. Also, mixed at 50% strength it helps high brix clones root much faster.

Both foliar sprays are mixed at 1oz per quart of RO. Use Brix immediately after mixing. De-stress can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Soil Amendments

Amendment: this product is mixed into the bale of Promix, watered, and allowed to "cook" in a barrel for a minimum of 30 days in order to get the soil ready for planting. Please note that the most recent version of amendment has the old "conditioner" added to it already!

Re-Charge: This product is similar to Amendment, but has a few additions and ommisions. It is designed to be top dressed during the 3rd week of the bloom cycle. Outdoors, apply re-charge when buds have set.

Roots!: This is a microbial inoculate designed to work with in conjuction with Transplant. A light dusting on rootballs during transplanting and a small amount at the bottom of the hole where seeds are planted is the proper use for this product.

Tea: This is a liquid humate product loaded with beneficials. It is mixed with each feeding at the rate of 2.5 mil per 6 plants (30 square feet)

So, how does all this work together?

Upon acquiring the Promix HP myco, the worm castings and enough plastic barrels to contain 60 gallons of soil:

Carefully and thoroughly mix the following:

Amendment
Promix
Worm castings.

Place the above dry mix into barrels and water with 3-5 gallons of water. Stir it, mix it, turn it over....and let it sit covered for one month. Temps must be no lower than 62 degrees and no higher than 85 degrees. Lower temps can take another week to "cook" while higher temps might be ready sooner. 1 month is usually spot on.

Once the soil has cooked, it's now time to plant!

Seeds:

Using a gallon sized container of newly cooked High Brix soil, make sure the soil is still slightly moist from the barrel. Not soaking wet....but moist.

Using a pencil, or chopstick or a non-functioning vape pen, make a divet in the soil about 1/4 inch deep. Add a small amount of ROOTS! in and around this hole, in which you deposit the seed and lightly cover with surrounding dirt.

Clones:

Pretty much the same as seeds, but use enough ROOTS! to completely dust the roots and put a small amount at the bottom of the whole. Water with 1 pint of Transplant Water.

Upcanning of larger plants:

Vertically score the roots, dust all roots with ROOTS!, place some in the bottom of the hole, gently position rootball and soak the medium with Transplant Water.

Water All seeds, all newly transplanted clones and newly tranplanted vegging plants with Transplant Water.

Recipe for Transplant Water

1 oz of Transplant per 1 gallon water. Use in the following manner:

1. Seeds and freshly potted cuttings/clones: water with 1 pint of transplant water.
2. Upcanning of larger plants: thoroughly soak medium with Transplant Water.

Use of Foliar Sprays:

Spray Brix and De-Stress 1 time weekly, not on the same day! De-Stress can be sprayed twice a week if the plants continue to exhibit signs of stress.

Mix each spray at 1 oz per quart of RO, using a fine mist try to get the underside of the leaves.

Using Drenches:

Tea: All drenches are "served" with 2.5 mils of Tea. No execptions.

In High Brix growing, drenches do far more than feed the plant. They signal the plant to grow or re-produce, and they keep the biology in the soil happy and productive. This is where the magic happens! Water with straight water between drenches with one exception.*

Growth Energy: used nearly exclusively in veg, with the exception of Transplant water. This is where strong stems and healthy leaves come from. It is also used during the latter half of the bloom cycle to bulk up fruit and flowers. Mix at 1/2 oz per 6 plants. Stronger doses can be used if needed, but generally you'll just waste product. Finishing the growing cycle on Growth Energy results in a sweeter produce.

Transplant: used as Transplant Water. Also should be used during the bloom phase alternating with Growth Energy. It is used at 1/2 oz per 6 plants (30 square feet.) Some growers have found that essential oil and resin production can be increased by using 1/4 oz of Transplant evenly distributed to every plant with each and every watering....whether with a drench or with just plain water. Please note, this does not mean 1/4 TO EVERY PLANT, but 1/4 oz divided equally to all plants.

**Cat Drench: This is used right when buds set. It is strongly reproductive in effect and if used at the wrong time will result in stunted growth and lower yields. Used at the proper time, unprecedented resin formation takes place. It is used twice in a row (no water in between applications). Using Cat Drench late in bloom may increase certain flavors and smells, but it also results in a more "gamey" flavor in produce.

These are the basic instructions for using the kit! A few pointers:

When in doubt about which drench to use, use Growth Energy.
Stay tuned for instructions on how to recycle the soil for an improved second and third run. This saves money AND produces better results!

I read through the brix journals and many final reviews were of low flavor plants that had faint tastes. It was then refferenced to a high end bottle of vodka or bourbon. Don't get me wrong doc has definitely found his recipe and his plants speak for themselves. I just enjoy the flavors to be pronounced and smooth. after reading a lot of it and watching icemud(..I forget his name and think that's close), his video on brix soil, I think it's close to what I use + & - a few things but my buds have flavor. It seems the Foliar sprays are basically same idea of beneficial tea except those r geared toward different points of the plants life to "send commands" or prep it with what it needs just before flower and different stages of maturity. I don't understand the low amounts of N-p-k. I did read guano and manure can negatively effect
The micros life (in the brix journals) except I put this in my tea and the tea is definitely alive. So is this kit really more about having a thriving bacteria colony to help process minerals and calcium in the soil and why wouldn't n-p-k of guanos, seaweeds, and meals help?
This isn't ego I just want to learn. It seems like a mineral rich soil with everything in moderation and Benny tea would do the same? Did this kit give u guys the yield u wanted? Did anyone test cbd or thc levels? If these r all positive I am interested in doing a side by side grow of clones from same mother.

Yes ..please do a side by side! The most important thing about Doc's. "kit" meaning, the drenches and foilers are balanced and in the correct ratios. AG labs has perfected these amounts to provide the optimum conditions for high brix produce. If you do a little more research you will see that there is absolutlely no guess work in creating the amendments and foilers. It is a purpose built method ...there is NO guess work in the soil make up or the rest of it.When most organic guys add stuff to there soil mix...it is just guess work...they don't REALLY know what the stuff will do ,they're puting in...they hope they know, but they really don't. Doc' has a degree and has done an enormous amount of research and work both in the lab and with his work with AG labs in the US. He is also the cannabis rep for AG Labs! Have you noticed that there is very little "K" in these products...just thought i'de throw that in here.Too much K will throw it all out of wack! Just a little thing i'de thought i would mention. It's called a "kit" because that's what people order...Doc's. kit. It comes with everything you need to grow ,except the promix hp and the ewc's.
Thank's canuck for doin this for them.Doc's full instructions should be all they need to get them interested! Look at all the growers using it and raving about it...my god man take a look at us all. Did i say NO GUESS WORK! As far as the low NPK with the "kit" stuff. Growers ,including myself have always had this misconception of having to force feed plants with lots of guano's and other plant foods.....with this H.B. method...we do not feed the plants anything,really....we keep the soil alive with a very energetic micro heard that feeds the plants. The "kit" provides these microbes and bacteria what they need to thrive in containers. Thanks again Canuck for trying to explain our passion to all! Cheers Dr. Rosco....i encourage you to ask more questions about this.Sorry Blueball...this was for you as well! The more research you guys do ...the more you will want to do....for sure!:peace:
