Update:
Well the plants are looking mighty fine. They are really, really bushy at the moment. I am still planning on a defol this evening. I will not go batshit crazy on them but I will be trimming them back fairly well. I am very happy with how all of them right now. Especially the Tut. That plant has doubled in growth in the last 4 days. It really is cool. I had been thinking that it was going to be a 2 zip plant if I was lucky but now who knows. She is trying hard to get to a decent size. Even the stunted PPP has been growing now for about 5 days. It really has picked up in the last 3 days though. I do not know what happened to it. Why it was stunted and then why it took so long to get over the shock of being moved into the flower tent.

Also on another happy note, I looked at the root systems on all the plants and I am just blown away with how much they have grown since the move into the tent 2 weeks ago. These roots are about 3/4 the size of the roots when I harvested the last batch! And we have not even started stretch! I am not sure what is causing it. I am not doing anything differently as far as nutes or pH or PPM is concerned. These are clones of those plants so, yeah I do not know what gives. The roots are just doing a lot better this time around.

I have added nutes this week a couple of different times. Doing that to keep the PPMs at a constant of 850 PPM. Also to keep a good amount of Cal/Mag in the system. This set up uses a lot of Cal/Mag. I will do a res dump and change sometime next week. I am thinking in my mind probably around midweek. As I said earlier, I still plan on using the grow nutes for stretch but also use the bloom supplements from the AN line.

I will take some pics tonight and try and get them up tonight. Starting tomorrow, they go to a 12/12 cycle. I want to get some good pics of the girls before the flip so I have a nice point of reference.

Well it took me a while but I have the pics. I took them on Saturday. They were flipped yesterday. I will give an update after I post the pics.

The last two pics were to show the Tut. The second pic was taken on the 17th and the first one was taken on the 26th. That is 10 days of growth! She is about 5 times the size she was. I do not know what her problem was in the veg tent but she is doing great in the flower tent. I would love to give her another 2 weeks to veg but the other plants are way big and would be a problem late in flower. So the Tut will just be smaller than I would have liked. Anyway, I am proud of her and wanted to show why. Hope you enjoyed it.

Update:
I am doing a res dump this morning. Almost done. I wanted to get it done and give the girls a fresh res and nutes for the start of stretch. They were flipped yesterday, so we are in transition at the moment. Probably until midweek or a little later. Hopefully this puts on a harvest in the first week of March. We will see. I will not have any deadlines or anything like the last grow. I want to give the plants all the time they want to grow and I want to give it a good flush at the end.

The last grow was all about learning and getting a harvest under my belt. This grow is all about fine tuning and getting a great harvest under my belt. I want to increase my yields, quality of buds, and quality of smoke. So we will see. I will be keeping the PPM close to 1000 and of course the pH perfect will keep the pH in a good range. I will be using 25 gallons. That's about it for now. I will have another update in a couple of days. Thanks for stopping by.

Things look really good. I am sure this grow will far out perform your first. Everything is in better shape and things are all under control. You can definitely understand what I use to say about the first being a stressful grow but each harvest from there becomes more calm and easier.

Keep up the good work bro!

Thanks FE. Well other than the first couple of days when I had the lights too high, this grow has been super chill. I now know what they are supposed to look like and what they are supposed to do. So that takes a lot of the stress away (until they stop doing what I think they are supposed to do!) :)

All looks great my friend and I'm sure your gonna be rewarded at the end! :)

Cheers LA! I am glad you are having a look at this grow. What do you think about my little Tut? You being an expert at that strain, your opinion means a good deal to me. Also do you remember how long yours took to flower? On the last grow I did, I took them at the 8 week mark but I think it was too soon. This time I am planning on 9 weeks plus one more week for the flush. Is that about the same time you saw?

Also, you are the reason I am fluxing these plants. It was my first attempt at it and I have to say I love how the structure of the plant just goes ballistic late in veg. The plant looks all funny being trimmed back and spread out and then, WHAM just tons of side branching and leaves and they grow so fast. Plus all those tops are about the same level vertically. I am really counting on that to increase the amount of bud I get from a single plant. Any observations or opinions you have are very welcome.

Thanks again to you guys for following along. I really appreciate it.

Update:
Ok so happy new year's everyone. Hope it is a good year for everyone.
Today, the flower tent looks like it is doing very well. Stretch is definitely in effect. The plants are shooting for the lights. I am having a problem getting them to stay down. It is not as easy to scrog them as I had hoped. I am still trying but it will be a fight.

The Tut is doing well. It has grown a lot. I say that every post but it is true. Also all of the pruning that I did before flipping the plants, none of it is evident now. The tops have at least one new node now and the leaves at the top have fully opened so the canopy looks as if it had never been trimmed. The only think is there are a lot of tops at the canopy now. It is filling up and getting very dense with tops. So that is a win.

I am optimistic that I can keep the canopy even. I will try to keep the "runners" in check. I really feel like that is the key to doubling my yield. I have easily doubled the amount of tops at the canopy on this grow from the amount I had last grow. Now to keep them fairly even and hopefully create a significant amount of colas. The very beginning of flowers are starting to develop in the tops. I can see a few tiny white "hairs" in them. This was the same as last grow. It took about 5 days to see the flowers start.

I have added Cal/Mag as well as grow nutes base this week. I also added some B-52. I have already added 10 gallons of water and the system is less than half full at the moment. So I will do a res change tomorrow. It is a couple of days early, but the plants have drank a lot of water and eaten a lot of the nutes. I would pretty much have to fill it up again today and renute it, so I figured wait until the morning and just do a complete res change. A part of me wants to go ahead and start using the flower nutes. I know I said that I was going to use the grow nutes for another week, but I am thinking that I want to go ahead and get the flower nutes in there. It may limit the amount of stretch a little bit. Last grow the plants tripled in size on me, and this time I do not want them to stretch as much.

Anyway, it has been a few days so here are some pics just taken. The girls really do look good at the moment.

Hey my pal, OK so my Tutt got roasted to death by my HP's lol. Yet Cajun ran Tutt and mine wasn't far off done and I can say 9 week min for flower so another for flush sounds bang on, but keep an eye on trichs etc :)
On your other plants how much vert have you got going now? If you have good vert then once your stretch is over you've got to hit em really hard on defol to promote low down colas generation.
Apart from that my friend, crack on lol you look like your having fun! :)

Even though your tut got cooked that thread convinced me to get some Tutankhamon seeds for the gorilla seed giveaway. Your girl was gorgeous.

Bama looks like a nice full scrog! So many budding sites! I would switch to flower nutes too, they are super nice and green so I don't think it would be a bad idea. Loving your grow, it's getting exciting now!

Thanks for responding LA. I really appreciate it. I looked up Cajun's grow. I have about 24 inches at the very top of the PPP's. I was folding them over the last couple of days. They are right in the middle of stretch at the moment. So they are growing fairly fast. I did a pretty decent defol last grow. I am not so sure I want to do a defol this grow. I followed JoJo's grow and he did a SOG on some clones as soon as they sprouted roots. He had six plants total. 2 got a heavy defol, 2 got a light defol, 2 were not defoled at all. The 2 with no defol produced 28 grams, 2 with light defol got 22 grams, and 2 with heavy defol got 20 grams. I know it is a controversal issue. I have seen Doc Bud's grows where he does an extreme lolipop defol and gets amazing results. I was planning on doing a light defol to make sure the light gets down into my second zone of the plant once stretch is over. At that time I was also planning on removing anything that was below the 30 inch mark of the canopy. I was hoping to get the plant to concentrate on everything in the canopy.

I guess at the moment I am just waiting to see where these girls end up at height wise. I may have to change all my plans once they have their final shape. On the plants that I did the best job of fluxing, I am seeing the most even and explosive growth. The ones that were not fluxed as successfully, are growing more like beach balls in shape. I would really like my canopy to resemble a table top (like what you had in your fluxing central journal). We will see how it all shakes out in another week. :)

Looking good man. I haven't seen too many others growing this strain. I am currently on my 3rd generation. A couple points that I have learned over the past few months.

  • She will only double in size during flowering stretch, making her pretty tame and predictable
  • She is very hearty and can take some abuse, I keep my nutes at about 75% strength my usual cannabis schedule
  • Her stems are very woody and can break easily, so watch out when you are tucking your ScrOG
  • Cloning is very easy, always 100% success rate, just don't keep the lights too close during the first few weeks
  • Will give off some great blue hues if exposed to consistent cold air during the last week of flowering
  • This is an end of the day strain that will get your to sleep quickly, not recommended for wake and bake

I don't have any pics online here, but i'll try and post some later.

Best of luck :thumb:

Thanks for the kind words Shiggity! :) I am almost completely filled in with the scrog. Should be all the way by Wednesday. I did switch to flower nutes yesterday. Gave them the full line of Advanced Nutes supplements. I am going to have to order a few more supplements as I am starting to get low on mine. We have another 10 days or so of stretch and then it should get pretty exciting after that. Hopefully lots of great bud porn to come. :)

Here the original PPPO Mommy right before harvest on day 63. I grow in a bottom fed reservoir pots with the main root mass in a mix of coco/perlite.

And here is the second generation of clones under a ScrOG on day 43 of flowering

And the third generation of clones are waiting in the veg tent. The three in the front are three regular Blueberry seeds, I hope one turns out male so I can pollinate one of the PPPO to make a killer cross.

Thanks for having a look steppastyle! I have to agree with everything you said. The only thing is that when I grew the PPP from seed last grow, they tripled in size on me. I am hoping that they only double. This is my first time growing from clone. So I have a good idea of what to expect but not a hundred percent. I did not see the blues last grow but it was a pretty warm December. It is cold now, so they should show some color if they are prone to that. I have to agree with your smoke assessment. This is a real knock out. I love the deep relaxation and chill that it gives. A true stoner's stone. :)

Your girls look great! I mean holy cow! Please start a journal and let me know. I will def follow along. Your plants look so much better than mine did at the same points in flower. I would love to see how you are doing it. Again, thanks for sharing those pics bro! :)

That is such a wonderful thing. I almost wish my grow room had a more mad sciencey way of switching to bloom, like one of those old throw switches you see in the movies with a bracket and handle. Like "ok everyone put your glasses on!" Throw the switch CB change the nutes and pow!
I know you have already flipped but you know what I mean. Veg time over baby. Let the calyxes commence!!!!

LOL. I do not have the big throw switch yet. I do have a very nice big submersible pump that acts as my recirculater and dump pump. I just have to connect the dump hose and wait an hour until all the water is out of the system. :) However, I make my RO water and store it in 5 gallon jugs. I really want to get a big plastic drum. Then it would only take two pumps and a couple of hoses to do a dump and fill. I just do not have the space for that setup. That would be the closest I could get to a big lab switch. :)

Steppastyle,

have you grown any of the other Dr. Kripplings seeds? I have a good bit of the Kripple Shock that the Gorilla Seed Bank gave me. I am thinking about growing them or some Purple Kush from Crop King. I can not decide but would love to know what you think if you have grown them.

Always showing the love!

I keep it simple. I veg in 3'x3'x5' 400 watt MH. Grown in 3 gallon Eco Grow System Hydro Pots filled with coco/perlite. I top and and super-crop the hell out of the plant during veg. I will then flower in a 3'x3'x6' tent with 600 watt MH for the first three weeks of flower to control the stretch, then 600 watt HPS to finish off flowering. All I use is the GH Flora Trio and CalMagic for nutes, but I do add molasses to my mix starting week 4 of flower, after the stretch. This really plumps up the buds. This strain benefits from a long 3 month+ cure. It smells awesome during grow, but then gives off that not so pleasant fresh cut grass smell during drying and initial cure. But after three months, the pine and citrus aroma returns with a bang.
