Much appreciation 420inOregon... I am so far pretty impressed the way things were going, so far really smooth except for a slight nutrient lockup but now it should be handled... yeah i think after this round it may be time to upgrade to a better and larger carbon scrubber or refill these with GAC because even with 2 scrubbers, sometimes I feel i still can smell them when i walk into the room with the tent closed... I found that the little 1$ air fresheners work well in the 6" ducting, they last about a week and seem to give a fresh mask to the odor... opening the tent is another story though...whoa there strong !!!

Bud porn you got there icemud shame i arrived so late but i definately learned lots off of your journal, nice how you curved your mesh upwards at either end, did you know iv you wouldve made a V shape you couldve made over 30% more yield in the end, creates more surface area you see ive actually read this havent tried it out myself but apparently it works, what i havent noticed yet is how much it all costed, obviously it all varies but its the same in most places i guess... Anyway very nice grow cant wait to see how much you got out of it

Today is day 62 of flowering and the ladies are finally starting to look healthy and begin to thrive after I let the soil ph slip out of range...oops... I'm still a beginner so one can only learn right...

Not much to report on today, there looking healthy, and still not really showing any trichome color change...wow there taking a long time.. as they continue to swell, I smile...

I try to be as explanitory as I can because I learned from reading other journals, and so If I can put it all in one journal, where someone could read it, replicate it and have good results...then I've passed on the knowledge and helped us all

I was thinking about doing a complete V instead of the more U shape that I have going, but I'm happy that I didn't... even though the elevated sides work well in increasing surface area and light intensity, they don't work to well in maximizing your plant to branch out because of gravotropism, which is part of what causes the side/axillary branches to reach up... when the surface is flat and the branch is bent on a 90 degree angle or close to horizontal, it tricks the plant into thinking its "broken" and forces hormones into the secondary branches to reach up to the sun to collect light...but with the V/U shape with elevated sides, its very hard to replicate the SCROG effect because the branches aren't forced to bend as much horizontally, because even as they grow up towards the light/and then bent, they still are more on a 45degree angle which doesn't seem to encourage the secondary branching as well... for it to be as effective as mine is, I had to do tons of LST pre-screen in order to have multiple branches in place to fill up the screen....

The total cost of my setup, nutrients, including electricity and water for startup and my 1st cycle cost around $2000. Most of my equipment was bought 2nd hand on craigslist, if bought new, I imagine you could add another grand to that total, thankfully I found good deals and saved...

I ended up with around 1 1/4 Lbs of dry bud, actually more if you counted the 3oz of one that hermied on me( used for edibles) and the oz or so pulled off pre-harvest as test nugs...pretty decent for my 1st grow...

I actually listed in my 1st grow journal an itemized list of everything including price that was used... Ill post the link below...

Won't really be able to tell until all said and done.... as far as smell, they all are very pungent.... the one with the most sweet taste is the kali kandi...I just quick dried a bud to try it...I'll let ya know in a lil while..

Today is day 63 of flowering and my plants are still showing sign's of lockout issues and don't really seem to be getting any better...I took some distilled water..ph was 8.0 and reduced it to 6.5ph with humic acid...barely took any..maybe 10ml total... Flushed out my back holy grail og which seemed to be getting worse...and sure enough...the run off was at 5.8Ph and over 2000+ppm....I guess its time for another trip to the store for water...man I really need to get a R/O system for next time around...

I will most likely flush all of the plants again with a higher ph water...probably adjust it to around 7.2ph with humic acid and flush the crap out of the plants... I hope this helps...

I cut a small bud off my Kali Kandi today and quick dried it to give it a test run...I snapped some photo's of the bud with my 30x lupe for some close up's of the trichomes...

Well I was going to wait until the pots dried out completely before watering again, but with my holy grail OG in the back not looking so good, I decided to give them all a good flush today...

I wasn't happy with the run off from the flush before still sitting around 6.0ph so I decided to run about 3 more gallons of distilled water thru the plant, no additives, and watched the ph runoff. I kept flushing till the runoff was registering around 6.7PH... I did this to all of my plants that were showing stresses.

My XJ-13 showed runoff also around 5.9PH which for soil is way too low, so I again flushed her until the ph of the runoff was sitting around 6.8PH...

I did this to all my plants so hopefully they will start looking even healthier and no discoloration...

I was removing some of the dead leaves off the OG101 on the right side of my tent and accidently cut this lil part of bud off...so I decided to take some close ups to show... using my camera on macro, with 30x lupe...

Wow even with the lockout your buds still turned out killer. I love the bud formation on the XJ-13.. It's so distinctive and just looks like bubbles Lovely.
