Stardawg17, Dutch Bucket, Photo, Fall 2022

All sorts of great learning experiences up there, and :bravo: for sucking up all the knowledge!
2.6 Oz of buds...they were nice and dense
Sweet!
and chock full of seeds
Oof!
I run it at 160F for 8 hours. Let it sit for a day or 2 and run it again. This batch I ran a third time just for an hour after I got home from the office.
I don't understand the reason for all that time in the MB. Folks doing something similar but calling it QWET will leave the flowers in the ethanol for 30 seconds or a minute, which is a heck of a lot less than 17 hours.

The Everclear will dissolve the trichomes almost immediately, and even if you want some of the plant matter (lipids, sugars, etc.) to add that certain something to the finished product, is there a lot more gained in those added hours like there might be for infusion in oil?
the MB press which screws right onto the top of a mason jar.
Whoa that's a cool gadget! I'm off to check out the pricing on it...$50 is steeper than I can manage now. :(
he leftover mash is dried and will go into my root salve.
:high-five:

IDK... I actually thought that was part of your process. Maybe I missed the part where you were using oil instead of alcohol for the extraction, but I thought I saw it in an RSO thread you were a party to. I read a lot of info on here and sometimes I get it twisted. Then there was also the I just got home from the office and don't want to deal with it so I'll just run it again effect. 🙃

Anyway, the report from the Mrs.
Yes honey, the rso is very nice ❤

I also busted up a small nugget and tried the vape at 350F

The bud was nice and dense and no seeds. It had a very pungent aroma but tasted almost like an earthy mint flavor. Very enjoyable. Mellow high, no paranoia or anything like that. Next time I'll try 400F to see if it's more psychoactive.

Trimmed NL1 and failed to post...

I plan to extract Green Dragon from this or I may try my hand at some oil.

Failing to trim it would have been much more of a problem.
I still have 3 plants to trim 🤔
Waiting to see the extraction/infusion fun!
same!

The oil will be for me. I've been using a VG tincture I made just over a year ago from the Durban Poison and Geist OG harvests and it puts the insomnia in its place :dreamy:

Final Update

I decided to not trim the final 2 plants. Since it will all be extracted into RSO or CCO it just didn't fell worth the effort.

All in all...just over a pound from a 4x4 tent. I guess we could call this a sea of green  My only real complaint then are the seeds.

Getting back to NL1 processing...I decided to go with oil. I'm not going to recreate @InTheShed 's pictorial, but, I followed the same process. The only differences were using Coconut Oil instead of EVOO and I forgot to decarb before I dumped the oil in the machine. So, I pulled the weed out of the oil and put it in the sous vide for 90 minutes @ 205F before the extraction. Maybe that's why it doesn't hit as hard as I expected. Guess I could've had some trichomes in the oil that didn't get activated. Perhaps I should put the oil in the sous vide or on the hot plate :hmmmm:

It isn't woeful and I got right at 360 ml of final product.

Great numbers from that 4x4! :bravo:

That's definitely the reason. 205° would take way longer than 90 minutes even if it was dry, but once the oil is on the trichomes to act as an insulator it would take even longer still.

Decarb dry is 240° for ~ 45-60 minutes in the open air.

Looks like I got work to do :thanks:
