- Day 55 in flower room

I played some puppet master for a few hours with plant ties & bamboo stakes today after I checked on my girls & nugs were dangling around. I guess the stems weren't strong enough to support the nugs but their all fine now. I'll keep checking day by day to tie others down as well before they snap but I got the majority of the large colas tied up safely.

Now i'd like to get some opinions on when to flush. I was thinking of starting to flush, but I'm not positive if its too soon ? I was thinking of giving one last dose of bloom,micro,k bud & molasses ? Or should I just start the flush now ?

This is only my 2nd grow so I'm not too familiar with when to flush, the buds are still swelling nicely. It seems like its a little early because some still look FILLED with pistils, but their still getting frosty & the stems are already losing support for most of the nugs so I figured I should start flushing soon ?

I'm just nervous, I don't want to loose a lot of yield or potency because I starved my girls in the last few important weeks ! But on the other hand, I don't want them to taste like shit. I'm using my organic nutes now so that should help a little with the taste.

Opinions ?

If you are organic in soil, just taper off the nutes, they won't taste like shit. There will be residual in the soil to feed them. I don't see many leaves yellowing yet, so it mean there is food there yet. You need to look at trichomes to determine when they are done (pistils help, but are not the test)

i would agree with him, all you leaves still look green and healthy, when they are ready you'll start to see the leaves yellow and most of your pistils will be brown, but you definitely wanna check your trichs for color change..all depending on how strong you want your meds, the more amber trichs you have the stronger the meds will be..heres a chart that might help you out..

Thanks man, I'll take a few leaves to test with the scope tonight ! I'm trying wait till I get like 80 % amber to see how much of a difference it will really make.

Don't let them go too far, cause they will still mature while drying. Don't overdo a good thing.

Update : 10/12/11

-Day 61, started flushing at 59

Things have been moving a bit slow lately unless its just me. They have been putting on weight rather slowly, but they have a decent trich production. I set up a 20 gal reservoir in the greenhouse w/ 3 air stones and a submersible pump w/ spraying wand to make watering a little easier, carrying 5 gallon buckets started becoming a pain in the ass ! I'm moving my Veg room into the greenhouse within the next few weeks so it's going to be quite hectic until I get things situated.

I'm going to be demolishing the little indoor setup in the greenhouse to make room for the Veg tent which arrived last night. I threw it together really quick just to get a better idea. I've never purchased a grow tent before this, but for $82 off of amazon this thing is built pretty decently ! The poles/plastic connecters aren't the best but what can you expect for that much, the material itself is pretty good quality. It has 3 duct sleeves, & 2 intake flaps along with a little floor cover that is pretty neat.

I also like that I will be able to water them all easily when they are in the same room. I know that tents, especially this one, aren't lightproof so I'm going to put a curtain of poly film around the tent. It will be quite cramped but I will have to make do, the shed is 6x8 & the tent is 2x4x5. I'm going to try to only flower 4 at a time (6 maximum) & keep another 4 vegging because I want to have a perpetual grow.

Since I'm using the Sun to flower my girls, when is to late to put them outside ? I want to have several harvests a year, and right now I'm dealing with 4 plants that Revegged which is EXACTLY what I want to AVOID. They have been taking up space in my greenhouse for at least 3 months if not longer & have less weight then my other girls ! I would HATE for that to happen again ! I'm guessing that since they would be used to the 18/6 schedule, that they would flower outside since they are mature clones ? I guess what I'm asking is are their certain months of the year that will cause a flowering plant to Reveg or stay Vegging ? Or will it flower outside at any time of the year if it is Vegged indoors ?

Do I have a Hermie ?
Went to check my girls today & my bagseed might be a hermie

It looks as if some of the swollen calacs have busted open, it looks strange. I wish i could get a clear picture with my cell phone, it almost looks lime greenish in a couple little spots. I cut off a little piece & opened it & it looks like 2 little tiny lime greenish/brown spots ! Could it be a hermie ? Please let me know if you have any info, i'll try to get some pics up later.

If it is I want to know asap so my other girls aren't in danger

you did a good job man, the one plant that is just covered in tops, where it would be smaller buds they are even tops, crazy!!!! like i said before, i would love to grow outside, i'de rather grow outside then grow in some big grow room with top of the line shit, i dont care what anybody says, you cant buy a light thats better then the sun, and again you did a nice job my man!!!!

Thanks a bunch Suka !!!! I know exactly what you mean, can't beat free light ! I would love to have a go at a full indoor grow, but I don't have the money right now & my power bill already went up enough. Shit It was too high in the first place !

I FIM'ed the one True OG in the corner

Right now my tallest is a PTW & the main cola is fucken enormous !! I have no clue how much it will weigh out to but I'm sooo anxious too see !!

All my plants in veg for the next batch are LST'ed so I'd like to see the yield difference in the coming harvest's

I love LST already, it's perfect for my cfls ! Soo many more tops without stunting

yea lst is some pretty cool shit, i still wanna give it another try my damn self, i tried it in both my first and second indoor grows and they both turned out males and i also wanna keep tryin the technique that i've been tryin by wrappin the plant around the pot as it grows, ohwell maybe next grow..

-Day 71

A lot has been going on lately so it's been pretty hectic! The girls are doing pretty good, my Veg closet (soon to be tent) has been switched to GLR thanks to Twelve12. I noticed a slight mite problem a few days ago in the greenhouse, I've since picked up a No pest strip that I'm going to toss in there for a few days. I got the Veg tent set up in the Greenhouse but I haven't moved everything yet.

The bagseed was chopped about a week or so ago. Most of it was moved to curing jars tonight. I chopped it a little early to clear some space and it wasn't doing too much anyways. I should have a final weigh in on the bagseed in a week or so

The Purple trainwreck is just stacking on the calyx's like a tower & it has such a dank potent smell. I can't wait to smoke it

The OG's are getting very dense as well

The headband is taking it's sweet little time but that's okay shes finally starting to pack on the trichs

The Vanilla kush is by far the frostiest in the garden & it has a very sweet pungent citrus aroma

TOG Thanks for checking out my journal. I think my setup has come a long way since the start, especially when I get my grow tent fully situated. I'm soo excited for my first decent harvest

And I know what you mean, the Revegging is very odd indeed. Was cool to see once, now I'm going to try my best to avoid it Lol

i think you did a good job re-veggin, i read about it in the grow bible and it seems like an easy technique to use, specially if you wanna find out what your plant is without takin clones, and then just puttin it back into veg, im sure i'll end up givin it a try one day.. and yes you definitely gotta decent harvest goin on!!! GOOD JOB!!!

-Day 74

Seems like I've been trimming for dazee already ! Got most of the platinum og done. Chopped top half of the biggest Purple trainwreck because I saw a little mite infestation on one of the nugs. Hopefully I'll get the rest done tomorrow along with the vanilla kush. Got the Veg tent fully setup with the 150w hps and some cfls. Took a batch of clones before transplanting my 3 keepers into 5 gallons, one which was placed into the greenhouse to flower last night. The other two are still vegging in the new tent until they get a decent size

The PTW & True OG were surprisingly showing a little purpling. I wish I could lower the nighttime temps to show its true colors

Great work on the plants. I like how you have the tent outside. The GLR will do wonders for your plants. Yeah, definitely enter those nugs in Nov NOTM contest they look great!
