I haven't fried in a long time lol

"fried"mean LSD? I only did that once. Just not for me. When I was in high school I knew a lady with a succulent garden. It was mostly peyote. Still, I always preferred herb.

Quick little update: Looking like any day now till the first chop. I should have counted how many that includes. Off the top of my head I think there's 29-39 about to come down. I pulled out two "typical, average" plants for pics. Enjoy.

A word of advice; don't eat a mussel that doesn't fully open. Shell fish bourne food poisoning is rather horrible.

I just took some picks of the mother plants.

This is the old Holy Grail Kush mother. Twice I've taken her down 1-2' in height. She needs it at least one more time before she gets to meet my HPS. I've started affectionately calling her Mrs. Piggy.

Damn, very nice. Such amazing plants for your growing style. You definitely are grooming them very nicely to take clones, especially that HGK mother. Good to see that NL x Skunk is looking good. Also glad to see another NLB growing again, that bud was dank last time I seen ya grow it. That PK is looking about ready to take a couple clones of as well, really excited to see you flower the Purple Kush out, make sure you give them prime positioning!! :) Good call on the basil, that reminds me I need to plant some as well.

Hope ya didn't get too sick, food poisoning is never fun and is best avoided as you said.
Cheers:cheer:

Yeah, everyone really liked the NLB; so potent and really tasted like Blue Berry. Now that I have my hermie issue resolved I'm curious to see what the sinsemila version will look like.

I'll be ordering an 18" bowl trimming machine hopefully tomorrow. Hand trimming has to be reduced. I have over 20 plants coming down this week. I have some other things that will also be purchased as soon as my tax return arrives. Some of those are a new flowering tent, new veg tent, two Mars II 900 watt LED lights.

I'd also like to get a Mars II 400 watt LED for the veg tent. I'll most likely wait on that one. My 600 watt reflector will fit in a 2'x4' tent and I have a metal halide bulb and a digital ballast. It'll be a definite improvement for the veg tent. I want to keep those plants as short as possible. Any form of training I try turns them into wide bushes. Trying to keep six strain mothers in that size tent seems to be a challenge.

I'm also going to buy an air pump and air stone for use in my cloning machine. I figure it can't possibly hurt. I read an article someplace else. The guy looked like he was getting roots in one week what takes me two weeks to achieve. I think the less time they sit in the cloning machine the less chance to get pythium-how ever it's spelled.

I found a website a few weeks ago that I should have bookmarked it. Can't find it for the life of me. This company manufactures puck for cloning machine. They were kind of a pink color. The weren't neoprene. I'm guessing silicone. The site said that they weren't porous and could be boiled or pressure cooked for sterilization. I want those two. It gets expensive using neoprene.

So, once I chop the first flowering gals I plan on flowering that 5 gallon Hempy HGK. I'm still worried about my height restrictions though. She's still around 4' tall. Once she's in flowering I'll have room to put my cloning machine to use. At time I will take clones from all six strains.

I'm thinking about going back to the 3.5 gallon containers. I want to reduce my total number of plants but have the same amount (heck, more) yield as I currently do. The catch is, I don't have the space for another or larger tent. Kinda a conundrum. I don't want to kill any of my strains unless necessary.

Our bathroom has extensive dry rot. I pointed this out to the landlord last February. Nothing has been done with that or much of anything unless I do it myself. Putting money into a rental is plain stupid. We will be moving as soon as we can afford it. At that time I won't have to worry about space restrictions.

Added: Thanks for the +REPS Lester. My wife pointed out that the camera has a touch screen. Using that produces a lot better pictures than pushing the button. It's a decent camera. It's major lacking is close up shots. Unfortunately that what most of the pics I post are.

:thanks:

Plants look super healthy. Yours always seem like a fricken bush compared to mine lol.

Your blue blood is quite a bit bigger now :) Did you top yours? I swear mine has the fattest leaves I've ever grown.

My NLxSkunk #1 is quite a bit behind yours as well. Think you may have started yours a little sooner.

The PK and HGK look amazing! :) Def need to get some purple in my lineup.

Those bowl trimmers look sweet but all the ones I found seemed really spendy. Especially when I harvest 4oz per month. I kind of like hand trimming tho. I'm sure one of these will be in my near future. I can now squeeze 64 2L plants in my 4x4 SOG. If I even get 7grams per plant that's still 16oz! :)

I feel you on having so many plants. It's really a pita watering them all. The trays make it a lot easier but still can't wait to do an auto drip feed. I think you'd do well with 3gal.

Psyched to see you run led. Heard lots of good things about the Mars.

Not sure if I misunderstood but sounds like you plan on putting a 600w mh in your 2x4 veg tent. Watch out for temps. Even running mh I had to dim my ballast down to 75% to keep temps down. That was in summer tho. Just a heads up. Sure your already planning for it.

I hate those damn styrofoam pucks too. They suck! Lol I plan on upgrading to better pucks as well. Great idea on adding an air stone to the cloner. Def plan on trying that one out. My clones average 14 days right now.

Boy do I feel you on shitty landlords. Our landlord basically acts like we own our rental. Great when you don't want him in your business but not so great when you need shit done. He tries to blame every repair on us. I don't mind fixing small shit but def not putting a big chunk of money into a rental. Were hoping to move to CO this year :)

Keep up the great work bro!

Keep up the great work bro!

Other than removing a few yellowing leaves, I haven't done anything to any of the new moms. I try to keep my CFLs as close as possible and have a fan blowing on them. The Blue Bloods leaves are pretty wide. I just peaked in for verification...they seem about identical minus the leaf curl as my Holy Grail Kush.

I'm trying my best to run perpetually. The heat at the end of last summer put my back a bit but I'm back up. I usually don't weigh anything. But I know I've trimmed at least an ounce dry in the last week and a half. Those were all smaller side buds and only from a couple plants. I haven't touched a cola yet.

I know the last larger chop was nine HGKs. They took over 24 man hours to trim. I use Fiskars model AA0713 trimmers which are spring loaded. Still, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Most of the time my hands are curled up, still, and swollen. Two nights ago I fell and managed to land on my thumb. Not sure if it's actually broken or not but hurts. I just don't want to spend days trimming by hand.

99% of the stuff I grow is for mine and my wife's use. My brother gets the lion share of the rest. I don't think anyone will mind if some trichs are lost. They will still make their way into either QUISO or budder. I just know having the trimming machine will greatly improve my quality of life. I've done a ton of research. I think I've watched every youtube vid on the subject. I spoke to an expert and he said that they are worth every penny.

Sure, if I want to enter the Nug of the Month contest I'll hand trim it. It's just hard to argue trimming a lb in an hour. I know I've pulled that much out of my 4'x4' tent at least one time. And don't worry, I plan on doing a complete product review, good or bad, once I get it.

I'd also love to have a drip irrigation system. I can't find a pre-made one that fits my needs. I'm a nuclear and aerospace pipe welder. A person would think I could design my own. But I'm fairly clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff. I've been trying to find someone else's DIY system and modify it to my needs. No such luck.

I thought about an ebb and flow table. It would be able to bottom feed Hempys. But then a person might as well grow in rock wool or take a more traditional route. Also, our power has been going out...I guess around three times a week...for the last couple months. That would be a total nightmare with ebb and flow.

For a few weeks last summer I ran 600 watts of MH in my 2'x4' tent. It was in our air conditioned bedroom with no exhaust hooked up to the cool tube. Seemed to work well. But yeah, I know that's not ideal, That blue bucketed HGK Mother was also 1/4 the size so she was out of reach if the heat. I plan on going all LED just the veg tent will have to be the last one. The flowering tent is my priority.

The veg girls look good. It's just a pain dealing with all the cords and having to re-position lights on the daily Also, I know I can get a lot closer internode lengths with proper lighting.

I was able to find those other pucks. They are made by PermaClone. They are definitely on my wish list.

Yeah, our landlord is pretty non-existent. Case in point, he has no idea that I have lived here for 2 1/2 years. When the Mrs. moved in he told her another person was another $100/month. He's been here twice in that time. Still knows nothing about any of this. I'm sure he medicates anyways.

Good luck with the move to Colorado. Oregon, Alaska, and I heard Cali are all supposed to be working on the same sort of laws we have in Washington and Colorado.

:peace:

Here's some bud porn. These plants have all been in flower for the same time. The size difference is due to 1: The two largest were held in veg for a couple weeks. Those two were also heavily sampled. 2: It is impossible to run consequent week age clones under one main light without some sacrifices. Some will stretch too tall, others will be little runts, while the other third will be just right. (These are all from the same mother). That's why I'm switching to two main lights in the near future.

These are the largest, the ones that had a veg time and were heavily scavenged from.

Some of the typical plants. Some grew wide, others lanky. It just depended on their real estate in the tent. I know I'll average well of 15 grams dried/plant. Should be closer to 20-25 grm/plant.

At any rate, the trim machine has been ordered and chopping will shortly commence. As always, pics suck.

its all good josh
sometimes ill just take a bunch of pics and just pic out the ones I like but that's not usually for journal more for
some kinda contest entry lol

Seems like I always take around 100 pics. I'll upload the best 50 or so to the hard drive. Then I'll upload what seems to be the best half of those to this site. Then maybe post on my journal what seems to be the best. Just rarely turns out the way I plan.

I just hope the few decent pictures gives a partial justice to what I'm doing. I'm due for a cellular upgrade. Maybe I'll just start taking phone pics. Seems like all the pics that I drool over are taken by an IPhone. I aspire to one day win the Nug of the Month contest. Just not going to happen with my current camera.

Plants are looking like they are almost there! I am interested in this bowl trimmer you are going to get! I have been looking a them as well. I was looking at the ones in the 135 dollar price range on ebay. I watched a good review on the same model on youtube and love the thought of cutting down the trimming time. I dont run a perpetual garden, but when harvest time comes it takes me like over 11 hours total to trim my plants from a 2x4 tent and I would love to cut that time down. hand trimming gets old quick for me atleast

I purchased the 18" non-motorized clear top bowl trimmer from our sponsor Perfect Gardens. I also bought a drying basket thingy. The trimmer is in the $300 range.

I know it won't duplicate a hand trim. That's fine for me. Honestly, I hate trimming. I loathe it. I prefer any other phase of the plants' lives. I realize that it's part of the game-I just hate doing it.

Hopefully this model will work as good as the youtube vids. As long as it doesn't act as a grinder I think it'll be a great tool to add to my arsenal.

I'm waiting on one last W2 before I can file my taxes. I'm getting giddy with anticipation with the LEDs I'll be buying.
