Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Nice chop Carcass! :yummy: Congrats my friend.
Sorry, HH- I missed this one...

Thank You, HH- You were right about her being a record-breaker..she's really a heavy one...(as evidenced by her flop:))

And...a couple pics, just because..
Day 2- 5 rows deep in the drying box...plus, a pan-o-larf...(I saved it for the keif)
5 rows deep.jpg

One of her buds
bud day 1.jpg

That's all for today...
I hope you're all having a great weekend...💚

Time for a little follow-up to yesterday's harvest post...

Time to put the "vacancy" sign up, I guess...
a1.jpg

After all she's been through, her leaves are still green. ....both of 'em...🤪
2 leaves.jpg

Now that's a pan full...
5 pile o pot.jpg

Only found a tiny bit more rot.

A number of hours later:

I forgot to get a pic of her on the scale, but she weighs in at 3.7 lbs wet (1660g)
7- pans o pot.jpg

Into the odorless drying box she goes...this is about half of her..
8-half full.jpg

And, all of her..
I run the exhaust blower for 24 hrs. straight the first day, then I switch the timer to 5 hours off, half hour on, and it stays that way till she's dry- the longer it takes, the better...

The target is for it to take ten days, but it's usually dry in 7 or 8 ...with the cool weather we're having (45f night/55f day) it may actually take 10 days this time..🕰️
10-drying 2.jpg

Finally, a bud..
I may not have mentioned it before, but she smells like sweaty armpit.....yummmm:)

And there you have it!

@Barney's Farm Blue Gelato 41(from the Australian seed fairy:love:)
28" tall
142 days old
129 days in her SIP
Flipped 88 days ago
Flowering 75 days

Thanks for looking,
I really appreciate your support!

I'll post up a final weight once she's down to 62%rh or so..

The quotes!

Ha! There probably is- she was about a foot wider than that path...

Ha! I knew she was going to flop, I just didn't know how much...🤔

Thanks, GDB - This is my first real "flopper" 😁

I knew she was going to flop some, but I didn't think it would be as extreme as it was..

I had a few last week, got pretty damn baked..I'm gonna like this stuff, I think...:lot-o-toke:

Thank You, Stunger- easiest plant ever to grow, too..

Thanks, Nev! Great to see you out and about!
She really was looking a little rough by the end..

Ha! That's a great analogy, Stone- she did look a bit "deflated" by the end..😀🎈
Love the tray pics, those are some frosty buds & looks like you'll get some nice weight from her

Love the tray pics,
Thanks, con!- I usually only need one tray, so there's a bit more to this one than I'm used to...
Beautiful buds, @Carcass.
Thank You, Regrowth!
They're solid, too....dropped one on my foot and it hurt my toe...

not really- but they are pretty solid... 🤪

Thank You, Azi- She was a fun one to grow, and she sure loved that SIP!
I kinda stepped on the "SIPs grow stronger branches" thing...but they don't have to get very strong when they've got a wall to lean on... :)
Probably bad juju to change the box now!
22 days short of her 5th Birthday? ...bad,bad juju!

Thanks, Nev !👍
She filled the grow box, now she'll fill the stash box...:)

thats going to fill the stash box out nice. 🏆
But I'm gonna need a bigger stash box...

Good morning C Star Spangled Banner!

So when you ready to go again?

Omg if I can’t wake my bee I’m gonna cut sick!

IMG_9595.jpeg
Priceless, Tra! :thumb:

Huge harvests hanging. :thumb:
Thanks, Shed- there's definitely a lot of her...
And a larger collection of jars. ;)
How about just 1 more jar? (it's a big one)
Big jar 2.jpg

My son's whey protein comes in these huge jars- may as well put them to use...the hygrometer in the lid helps me keep an eye on the rh ...they hold apx 3 gallons.

Mmmm, hope the armpit morphs into something even awesomer! (👁️👃👁️)
Thank You, Stone!
Well, today's day 3 in the dryer, so she's smelling a little grassy...but I can detect a slightly sweet onion-like smell now... 🤏
So when you ready to go again?

Hi,T!
I should be ready to start again as soon as this one is dry, so a week probably!
I need to clean the box up a little too, but that doesn't take long..
Should I figure on dropping a Critical Kush next Sunday?
Next Sunday is 3/3/, so it should be a lucky day for you..👍

Priceless, Tra! :thumb:
Third time's the charm!
When you get a chance could you give a summary on how you built your dry box?

Here ya go, @g-one-three :

We bought a car seat for the granddaughter about 3 years ago, it came in a 24"x24"x19" box, which looked to me like the perfect size for a drying box..although,any fairly large box will do the trick..
This one sits on top of the grow box when I'm drying stuff.
1.jpg

So I rigged it up with a timer...
2.jpg

cut a few small intake holes along the bottom edges...
3.jpg

Then, I cut a 1.5" hole on the top, and mounted a small 12 volt computer blower to pull air through the box...
This blower runs very slowly on 7 volts- I don't want any turbulence in there, I just want to change the air in the box every 4 hours, and It works well for that..
A small (2") regular fan would also work, I just happened to have that little blower laying around...
sorry for the crappy pic:
4.JPG

I usually run the exhaust for 15 minutes every 4 or 5 hours to allow the weed to dry as slowly as possible...
The charcoal filter eliminates 99% of the odor...

That little white thing is a temperature sensor....and speaking of temperature, it was a brisk 47f in the garage this morning, which is really good if you're trying to slow dry some weed in there..:)
5.jpg

I used to make beef jerkey in a box similar to this, the only difference was that the jerkey box had a 100w incandescent bulb in there for heat..

The weed is hanging on solid copper wires, but you can use string, fishline, whatever...
There's 5 upper rows, and 3 lower rows in there, each row holds apx 10 buds.

So there it is- pretty easy to put together, with 15-20 bucks worth of parts!

Thanks for looking, and have a great Sunday👍

Sounds perfect.

Omg I’m so nervous mine won’t wake…. again.

From the looks of things, you could put nearly half a load of laundry in that Gelato vat! 😁

It'll be fine, T - what are the odds that another one will cut her own head off?
Pretty slim, I'd say...💚

Yeah, it's a biggie!
It should work alright for curing - some folks cure their weed in
plastic buckets so why not a plastic jar?
This way, I only have one jar to burp...

That's gonna' be a belcher not a burper! 😁

Another terrific Carcasstorial®! I am going to add the punch-through hygrometer to my drying box next time. :thanks:

Seeing as how RH is relative humidity, the humidity you're seeing at 47º will be different at room temperature.

"Warm air can possess more water vapor (moisture) than cold air, so with the same amount of absolute/specific humidity, air will have a HIGHER relative humidity if the air is cooler, and a LOWER relative humidity if the air is warmer."
Source

So if you're seeing 77% when it's cold it should be dryer than that when it's warm. Just a thought.
