First Timer, LandoC Attempting Indoor Purple Kush In Soil, 2020

If thats a 4 foot wide tent the light is at least 2 feet from the top of the plants if not more from looking at that picture unless you raised it for the picture. Have you actually measured it with a tape? I would run it around 12 inches unless I saw heat stress. You just have to make sure the light is covering the whole 4 x 4 area. Watch the shade line on side of your tent and lower it down until it gets close to the outside colas or your desired height.

I have marked your shade line and how far up your tent it is. The circled area is all wasted light for an example that could be going to the plant. Just some tips that may increase your yields.

You will know if its to close. You will start to see the ridges on the fan leaves curl up. I usually let this happen as long as its not bad and not burning the plant personally. Ive ran 600 watt cool tubes 6 inches from colas before with only mild bleaching on the very tip.

I’m OCD about details! I have probably measured that space 3 times/week for the last 3 months...
I like the tip about the shade line! I will watch this as I lower it tonight! Thanks again for the tips, always want a bigger better yield right!

I gotcha, yea pictures can def be deceiving. Didnt know if you were actually taping it. Yea I would still lower it down some and see how it does. Either way you are killing it and doing an amazing job. I see zero signs of heat stress at this point so you can for sure go down some from looking at your shade line and hot spots. Keep up the great work!

Plop,

with HPS 600+ i will go max 15-16 to the apex dippending on the heat of the box and the air circulation inside.
Also if its the first session of the bulb, be careful.

love pk. oh wait thats me

A wonderful day to all! Free time is starting to evaporate, work is slowly on the rise...I think I’m going to miss all the days off, doing whatever I choose to!

Here’s the almost start of 8 week update...I found what appeared to be a seed this morning? 1 seed on the outside of a bud? I poked at it and it fell free, and dropped somewhere...I may not find it to determine what it was? It sure looked, and felt like a seed...very light tan color. Does this mean pollen has appeared somewhere in my tent...hmmm?
I scrutinized what I could see in the small amount of time left before the lights went out. I will look again tonight, but found no traces of nanners or other seeds? There is a lot of biomass to look thru, and I’d never be able to look at it all.
Hopefully all will work out, as I think it’s very close to harvest time...what my un-experienced eye tells me is some cloudy, some clear...maybe 60 cloudy, 40 clear? Perhaps within a week or so?
I suppose I just need to keep checking every day or two...
I’m thinking about trying the 36 hour dark period before I chop them down? Also time to determine what strain gets grown next? I was going to try a top feed hydro system next round, but I don’t think I will have the time. It looks like it could be Pro mix HP again, but less plants, and bigger pots. With way more knowledge and understanding right from the start...first round has been a learning experience!
Earn while you learn!

Absolutely stunning work my Braddah from up northland. As I’ve said before your attention to detail (OCD like myself) shows and for a first grow I’d say it went smoothly. Being so close to the finish line I wouldn't trip over a rouge seed or nanner if there is any of either. Come harvest time you will know what’s what for sure.

Hope all is blessed my friend and congrats on getting back to work. I feel like I can actually notice growth and changes in my plants when I actually away from them and at work

Thank you my Big Island Braddah!
No trippin’ indeed, I’m going to ride it, then smoke it for the finish! All will be revealed as it’s cut up, then rolled up, then the inevitable...fired up! Can’t wait for the next cycle to begin, will drop seeds next weekend if all goes well?
Peace and Love to you and yours my friend!!

Those are beauties. At least your grow is wrapping up just in time to go back to work. Can't beat that timing. I really like the PKush and have added it to my list of future seed purchases. Can't wait to hear how they do in a bowl for ya.

Timing is...everything! I had a small sample about a week ago, it was impressive! I will make sure I do a smoke report on this PKush...I think it will be pretty Piney, with a hint of mint? The smell is a cross between coffee, and pine trees...

Good Morning, Happy Wake and Bake Sunday! Black Tuna for me today, a Canadian favourite! The stuff we used to get in tuna cans. Not stocked at your local grocery store, and it sold out quickly!

Anyhoo, I have never waited for the HPS to turn off for pictures? I did today, and was surprised at the colours! Mix up the Purple Drank, to wash down the Purple Dank!

Oh man you are in for a killa harvest my Braddah!! :woohoo:

Oh man you are in for a killa harvest my Braddah!! :woohoo:
Seeing the real colours without the HPS spectrum...I’m way more stoked now that I see all the Purple bud contrasting with the green leaves! I may get a few fat joints, and a little hash outta this 4x4 tent?
I found 1 more seed on another bud, still no amber anywhere...getting close!
What’s your method to trichomes? Wait for any amber? Amber Alert...

Yeah I like to see cloudy and some amber heads. The Trichomes will continue to mature during the cure in the jar. The killer kush I grew 4 months ago looks gold

Holy time flies when you’re having fun! Happy Sunday Y’all weed heads!
Lotsa things happening over here! Today is Harvest day...next round of seeds is in the towel, hopefully germination happens!
Back to work now, time is very limited...I will have a top feed, drain to waste Coco Coir in 3 gallon buckets...to help with my lack of free time. Hopefully it all works out!
The picture is the new set up from The Bucket Company, just running some tests in the dining room...first test I had one tiny leak, easily rectified....It’s been running cycles to test and clean, so far there has been no drips anywhere! It’s a pretty slick system so far, should be fully operational once the seedlings have a few sets of leaves...c’mon germination process....
