Question - is a 10x loupe enough to get a good overview of the trichomes? Feeling the microscope is too close - it's hard to get an overview of the percentage of amber trichomes. I read that in most cases they don't recommend that you get a bigger loupe than 10x. But the info I read was for goldsmiths

I generally use a 16x for overall viewing. I picked up a couple of them for like $2-3 each. They work just fine, and you can see individual trichomes. I do have a 60x that mostly sits in the drawer

Great news! I noticed some amber today in the microscope. Will buy myself a cheap jewellers loupe tomorrow so I can get a better overview. I do however believe I can harvest in 4-7 days Thinking maybe 4 days more with light and then 48 hours of darkness.

Cut a few popcorn buds off the bubbleicious plant. It's very close to harvest as well now. Really nice stoned feeling from this. Can feel the couch lock come creeping over me. The strain is a creeper. Smoke a joint, wait 10 minutes and BOOM!

So I got a cheap digital USB microscope from amazon ($12) and that worked ok. It wouldn't work with windows10, but my old clunker laptop worked it well enough. I nabbed a jewelers Loupe and it works pretty well. It has 2 settings first is 10x, and the other is 30x

I know these aren't the best examples, but it's the closest thing I have. Hope that helps!

Can't wait to try Bubbleicious after curing. The decarbed stuff taste horrible. But holy fucking hell! I'm glued to the chair now. Am actually a little noxious, it's almost too much. Hope I won't build tolerance so fast on this one. That's the thing I don't like about big-bud. The stoned feeling it gives you and how tired you become and then how well you sleep - love that! Sadly you build up tolerance really fast so you kinda have to save that one for bedtime if you want to keep getting stoned. Big-bud is also a creeper. They have a lot in common. Bubbleicious is fantastic. Love it!

Things are starting to look like something in the main-room. There is very little to tell except that all trichomes are now milky white on both strains. We're getting really close to harvest time. I guess we should give them a few days more, then 48 hours of darkness and then harvest. Today I just want to show you some bud-porn! Enjoy!

While we're waiting for harvest day We're almost done with week 9 and still no signs of amber trichomes. Guessing we'll need to wait yet another week. This part of the grow is horrid. That horrible waiting. I pick a few popcorn buds every day now, which I decarb and then smoke. I can feel them getting stronger every day so I definitely have to be patient and wait. Very exciting Mars-hydro photo contest going on right now. How are all of you good folks doing today?

Regarding my breeding project. I have started planning other crosses as well and to get more genetics to use in this project. The main challenge with breeding here is the legality status. I could risk after spending years developing a strain, to be arrested and have all my work confiscated. Therefore I want to invite the 420 community to join me in develping these strains. I'll send out seeds to a few people around the world to make sure the genetics exist in more than one place. This will also allow for more plants to be grown in a shorter amount of time. Anyone up for this?

I'm in! Give me a few rounds to get something going and we could strain swap - a couple for growing and a couple for archiving . I'd dare say my first attempts at strain creation will have a WW parent.

Thinking about harvesting the two auto's today. They're 86 days old now. The loveryder should have been done weeks ago and the Jack Herer is supposed to be done after 70 days. To be honest I didn't check it at all. Took them out of the grow-room yesterday and they're now standing in the sun. Do you think they're done? I do - Check the amber! Don't even need a microscope to see these are done - a little overdue actually

I am thinking that because I use 15 liter autopots, the roots doesn't get as developed as they should, meaning I don't get the full potential when it comes to grams per watt and usage of the grow-room. Thinking that a sea of green would be better than a screen of green. So to maximise the yield in that room, I will use all 12 autopots in future grows instead of 8 like I do now. I believe that will give me a lot more than today. That means I will put my old hydrophonic Wilma system to use in the 120x120x200 tent. There 4 plants in a scrog system would be perfect. With an airstone in the reservoir, you can allow the roots to just grow into it and that way there is no limits when it comes to how big the root-balls can become. Pity I didn't think about this earlier. Now two autopots are being used in that tent under a net. Since they're 15 liters, yield will suffer also there. Thinking that with 15l pots the max yield will be 120-150 grams per plant no matter how I train them. Next round I have 10 free autopots so I'll do a 10 plant grow. Then the next round after that will be a 12 plant grow - Possibly the first "The Devil's Widow" round?


Anyone with opinions about this?

Nah - But I have a couple that have been with me for a while. It's time to move on for me though to new strains. But first I want to create a strain or two out of the ones I have Then I pollinate all the plants with themselves so I can make seeds of all the strains I have here. That way in 3-4 years I can go like "Hey - remember that big-bud I used to make the devil's widow? I have some seeds laying around. Let's grow it for old times sake!" Or "Hey! Remember Pure power plant? That would be perfect to cross with this .........! Let's grow 10-12 and find a good speciment"


Or something like that
