OK so I have been looking at going with LED I really like everything I see about the MARS-HYDRO but I'm just unsure what I would be happy with for the money I have to put out to get it. I'm not trying to sound picky or anything but I would like to only have to get LED once to be happy with what I bought. I don't really see that being a problem as I'm super happy now with CFLS lol.
 
For the money you plain and simply cannot beat M-H IMO... There product in great and their customer service is amazing... My first light was a 96x3w reflector... That would work great for you and I'm still using it btw... If you want you could start with a 48x3w and then get another 48x3w and have a little more flexibility in how you hang them... You can look all through my journal and there is everything from 48x3w reflectors to 144x5w reflectors... Mars II 400's and a Twilight Spider4... In a couple of my other journals you will see other lights... Don't go there...:thedoubletake: If you are going to stick with 2 or 3 plants IMO I would either go with the 96x5w reflector (all reflectors are 5w now) or 2 of the 48x5w reflectors... with the 2 you can veg with one and flower with the other if need be or use them both for veg or flower... you can also hang them at different angles than the 1 longer piece.... In my 2'x2' tent I used the 96x3w and the 48x3w reflectors to veg the girls in there now then changed it out to the 144x5w for better penetration but since they are all 5w not you wouldn't have to worry about changing them out or which one to get... The 5w does get a lot better penetration... Also with LED your not going to pull near the wattage from the wall as the ballast and things you are running now... You temp will only raise ~ 10 from ambient outside temps (temp of the room your growoing in) Nothing like the lights you are currently using... Heat is not much of an issue with LEDs.... Canna's right though... Your next purchase needs to be a temp and humidity guage thingy... You can get it for about $10 and if your in the high desert... You'll end up frying your girls without it.... Any how I will try and post you up a pic or 2 but my journal is covered with bud porn from Mars Hydro.....:high-five:....:circle-of-love:

I love the veg and bloom separate switches. :)

Dang Dude you need to be picky... That's a lot of money any way you look at it and especially if it mucks up in the middle of your grow...:thedoubletake: I have been growing with the same lights for over 2 years now and I have never had a problem with a single one of them :wood: {knock on wood} and have purchased well over 20 lights total from them... I also demo'd a light for another company that cost well over a grand... it almost burnt my house down....:yikes: so I want you to be real picky...:;):....:circle-of-love:

Not only flexibility, but also less impact from a single light failure. Not that you can expect to lose a light as quickly as I did, but it always pays to plan ahead for it.
 
Oh yah and that is some beautiful bud that you posted thanks for that it makes me want to go buy a light right now lol... plus I can use your pictures to maybe get the mrs. To be understanding when I try to get said LED... I told her this would be the cheaper route but.... well money is money so I have already been spending about 40 dollars every 2 weeks on this grow but I think it's growing great with the little money I have put I say little money because it was spread out over like 3 or 4 months. But she see every dollar spent when she looks at it I think lmbo. But anyways she is starting to come around a little bit since I have a tall female starting to flower now after all that time and money went into it with no smoke yet...
 
The start up is always where it's going to cost the most. Once you have all of the basic equipment in place, all you gotta do is germ a seed and grow a plant. Well, then harvest and smoke it of course. :laugh:

They are several different series of lights... all LEDs... the reflector series has little thingys behind the leds that reflects all the light.... then their Mars series... well they don't but they are stronger lights they say... I have both and I like my reflectors better... especially if utility cost are a large factor... there are switches on the reflectors for bloom and veg and you cna just run the veg when you are veg'ing obviously but it cuts out the reds and some of the wattage... I run them full blast all the time and find I get better growth in veg with the full spectrum and I guess it just boils down to preference and I like the reflectors.... They are easy to work with and are just basically plug and play... They have come out with a cree COB... I think it's a COB but anyhow it's a high dollar baby and I haven't been looking for new lights lately so haven't really paid it much attention after I saw the price tag...:circle-of-love:
 
Oh and now that I think of it I htink I read that they put the switches on some of the Mars now too... I like my Mars but they do get hotter... Not as hot as what your running by any stretch of the imagination but hotter than the reflectors and they are heavier... They too are 5w and are square like the 48x3w... so the footprint of your space will be differrent depending on the lights you choice too....:circle-of-love:
