Clean up on aisle 3!

Sorry about the mess but the flowers are looking spot on. :thumb:
Thanks @InTheShed

And nowfor something completely different...

I believe you use CBG. I've tried it in the past and it did seem to give me an energy lift. Similar to you I used THC back in the day but I quit in 2004. I've recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and I find THC extremely effective for the pain. Problem is, I don't really enjoy being high, except on a rare occasion. I have some CBG flower in a dugout that's probably 18 months old. Would that degrade into thca and thus decarb into thc if I smoke it? If not, do you think it would still be effective? If not I can go pick up some. If it's effective I'll probably drop a seed in my next grow. I found these tonight that look good and are reasonably priced.

I'm in the early stage of the CBG journey with my just harvested flowers, but the best way to tell what the 18 months has done to the CBGa is to fire it up and see if you get high (and of course report the answer in my journal :) ). I hope it works for you! And that DBL CBG (24%) is a lot more than mine has at around 14%.

I have to say that the best antidote for the high of THC is CBD, which at the right ratio will knock the high down greatly. The real question is whether a THC/CBD mix without the high will have the same effect on your pain. I know that @Amy Gardner found a 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD worked best for her pain, a lot of which was of a fibro nature but might work for you.

There are a lot of good CBD varieties out there now (Weed Seeds Express has some here) with THC under 1%, which is the type I use (Candida, which is no longer available). If Candida is something you're interested in, PM me your email address.

Pics are from the tent cams and they tend to get a bit washed out under the GIIXERs. No pics of the queens tonight but PQ2 has started putting out orange pistils. The NL flowers have that classic smell that brings back such nastalgia and the queens smell more pungent yet pleasant. Both types are starting to show frost...I'm getting excited. Unfortunately, I think they didn't like the super cropping and I'll probably take a ding on my yield..but who knows...they may recover yet.

Happy Friday :peacetwo:

I changed out the reservoir today so how about a report?

One of the side-effects of automating my report generation is the inability to scrub the anomalous data from the results. I should ask chatGPT to generate some code for that. I'm also experiencing some more sensor issues. The fuel gauge I use for monitoring the reservoir level shorted out, burnt some wires and fried my arduino uno...glad it didn't burn down the lab :O Anyway, that's all repaired and I now can tell how many gallons are in the reservoir. Unfortunately, I have no temp for the pH meter and no ppm ATM.

How about some pics? Day 104 Flowered 28

I really have been expecting to see more root development. It's like they've stalled out. Also, if you zoom in on the tops most of them started to flower...not sure when that happened. I don't recall them having flowers to begin with o_O

Speaking of flowers...All looks well in the the 4x4 tent. The lot of them are drinking about 3 gallons / day and the pH has been dropping steadily. Adding about 1 ml pH up seems to bring up the remaining 5 gallons about .1 units.

The smell smacks you in the face when you open the shed door. And the orange pistils are spreading. I'm hoping Saturday to trim. I'll probably also try backbuilding NL3 and PQ2. This will give me a nice comparison between NL2 and PQ1.

4x4 looks solid Stardawg. :high-five:

My cuts go into preflower sitting in a cup of water under 18/6 sometimes. Then when they root, spit out 3 blade leaves.
Thanks GG. My cuts are under the lights 24x7.

I have a couple of thoughts about the roots. First is that those tiny holes have girdled some of the stems. Second is that the light comes in through the holes and the gap in the top, which can curtail or slow down root development. That's why net cups have foam collars.

In terms of flowering, I've had that as well on some cuttings at 24/0, particularly if they've taken a long time to root. Something about the stress I would guess. Like GG said, they'll reveg after planting.

OK...a little adjustment on the clones...

Back left is cloned from NL3.
The other 2 in back are from NL2.
The 2 in front are from PQ1.

I have also covered the cutout in the lid where the sample pump sits in. The cutout is for my water sample probes which I'm not even using now

I also got my DBL CBG seeds today and dropped them in water tonight. So time to start the new journal :)

Week 16 Update...

My automation system is causing me more grief this week (surprise, surprise, surprise). So, while I generate my reports I'll start with the roundup. Unfortunately, life outside the lab has been hectic this week to say the least. I didn't get to trim today as I'd hoped and only snapped some quick pics inside the tent with my phone.

So a few changes to the nutrients as well. First, I ran out of Silica Gold so I returned to the GH Armor Si.
Next, I switched from sterile environment to beneficial bacteria. That Persephones Palate by Nectar for the Gods is a molasses replacement for hydo. After reflecting on the prices of those final 3 products I remember why I was using a sterile environment. The H202 is much cheaper.

Tonight I tried my hand at backbuilding on NL3 and PQ2. The purple queens are more mature with denser buds and the pistils are already starting to pull in. So the cut was a little different on each plant. On NL3 I just trimmed the top of the pistils off, but on PQ2 I actually ended up snipping the top of the flower. It's actually hard to see in the pics below, but there is a lighter shade of green where I trimmed that is quite distinct when you're looking at the plant live.

Both of these plants were just sticky icky and the aroma is so delightful. The Northern Lights smell sweet but they both have a floral scent.
