Wrenn's Grow: x4 HSO Raspberry Diesel In DBHBB 10/2018

Looking good Wren. On the bud washing, you don't need to use the H2O2 unless you suspect mold/PM. Your Growth drench was on the very light side too. I would suggest doubling that amount at least. It will sweeten your produce.

:thanks: I’ll will go with the lemon juice and baking soda as per Docs instructions.

I was mixing my GE drenches for all 4 plants at 28-30ml GE + 3ml Tea to 5gal RO.

Then the last couple weeks some of the girls slowed down and some drank fast so they started to get feedings separately. I figured since I was only watering the single plant I would use 1:4 of that so yeah 6ml was light.

Do you think the fans are from fade or the plant is hungry for more feed ? I think I were on the side of light because I was unsure if that plant is just fading out or it was showing nutrient burn.

Thanks for the observation! If that girl makes it to another GE I will double it up.

I do want to cut them down fast to get them washed/hung and into the fridge. Also to help trichomes stay less amber.

What Neiko said! Your for sure in the window. If it were me, I'd give water in 3-4 days then GE in another 3-4 at 15ml per gallon of water then chop in 2 days. Or skip the water and do GE then Chop. Awesome job! They look great! :yummy:

Good Morning Ween and thanks :high-five:!

Other than that girl from last night the other 3 will likely need watering in the next 24-36 hours. I’ll give them a stronger GE Drench. I will likely want to chop them all this weekend or at the latest Sunday.

Will report back with a bunch of trichome shots and where on the plant they are from.

Have a awesome day !

So skip the water and just give them all, including the one you watered last night, one last GE, nice and strong.

Saw these amber tinted ball jars at Walmart. Quite expensive at $3.50 each but it says they block 99% UV. Maybe useful for someone. I just cover mine with towels.

Also have a video of some micro organisms when I did the last GE Drench in the saucer having a Royal Rumble lol. Are we able to upload a 30sec long video ? Or has to be a web link ?

I’ve heard of Duggans 15 ml to each Gallon. That seems like a lot lol. But I’m cool with it. I always thought Sativas usually like less feed. It’s just weird the two plants that are more Sativa in structure are the ones fading out fast. The Indica short ones are a lot more green and hardly any signs of a fade. Sort of has me confused. I thought Indicas would fade / flower out fast. My Bubba Kush were faded and gnarly by day 60 of flower.

Ok I’ll hit them with a 75ml to 5 gallon RO and 3 ml Tea again tonight and let them all dry out before the chop. Doc also suggested heavy GE focus to the end for bud swell and sweetening.

You probably don't want to water the one that got it last night. The other 3, you can probably fit 2 GEs in, 1 today and 1 Friday, chop on Sunday.

Yeah they are definitely drinking quite a bit slower. I’ll give the other 3 GE x2 if possible then chop sunday. Thanks for the advice guys.

I checked the Rh/temp Gauges I threw in the full size fridge. The main area is 30f and 20% RH steady. In the Crisper it’s 45-50f and same 20% RH.

Checked online and the dial that goes from A to G is temp setting. G is coldest. Going to set it at B or C and wait 24hrs to Check again. Hoping RH comes up some.

Also found these new Inline fans on Zon that come with a temp /RH sensor. He Dan has 10 speed settings and based on your desired temp or Rh the fan will speed up or slow down. Pretty cool although idk how well this would work to stabilize Enviro.

AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T6

If it does work well it’s quite a nifty inline. The controller also can be hooked up to 2 fans of this type.

Note only the 4 and 6 inch can control 2 fans. The 8inch fan needs a controller for each fan.

Cheers guys :ganjamon:

Cool I will have to go to WallMart and take a look. I actually paint the clear ball jars on the outside
Much cheaper but the paint gets chipped over time

BTW 1st and 2nd run amendments are the same, just like to organize things a bit over the top

Nice stash of rocks Zoo! And thanks for sharing I like your organization. My Kit stuff is still in the mangled cardboard box it shipped in doh

I need to spend a little time and get my precious rocks and dust into better storage. Thanks for the motivation !

Well guys it’s been a really busy week for me and as much as I would hate to admit it. I have neglected my girls for the last week almost. Barely checking in every 24-48hrs. Only to re fill the Huey. And check if they need watering.

The raspberries are at day 70 now. I wanted to cut them all down before tonight. But we ended up being away from home since Friday after work. I’m now home and brought 20 gals of RO with me :morenutes:

Just checked on my girls and they are thirsty but they are okay. They are ripe to cut down. I have my baking soda and lemon juice and have been reading a lot on the bud washing.

I have read many different details on how people here are doing the washing.

Some using hot water in the BS+LJ bucket. Some using all room temp.

I can confidently control my tent to 65-70f and RH 40-60% as needed. That is with the light off though.

My fridge in the basement for low and Slow curing reads 37.5f and 20% RH. In the crisper it’s reading just over 50f and the same 20% RH.

I have an assortment of shoe boxes. Paper bags and even some pizza boxes.

If I cut them right now (before bed) and wash them all I can have them hang drying to drip dry within the next hour or two.

Tomm morning or after work. 8-16hrs later I could move them into the fridge into paper bags or cardboard.

A few things ? Does the paper bags or cardboard need to be closed or can they be left open to the air inside the fridge ?

I fly out March 20th and won’t be around for a week. This is my major concern. I need to have these in jars where I can leave them for 7-8days without me checking anything. That’s only 16-17 days from now.

Any ideas on how to tackle my time constraints ? Or reassurance if I cut tonight I will be ok?

I really wanted to give them all one more round of GE but if I did they would not dry up for another 3 days.

Are we wanting to cut the plants down when the soil is dry. Moist or damper ?

Any thoughts will help. I’m in the worried parent stage right now for sure. :nervous-guy:

Cheers Gang. Hope you guys had a great weekend !

Main fridge area. I figure when 4 plants worth of freshly washed buds fill this up, RH will rise.

1738283

Crisper is a fair bit warmer. Still same Low RH.

Hey Wrenn! I was just reading a post today on the low and slow thread, Derby leaves his bags open for the first few days. Rh will go up once you add the buds. Can you change the temp. Turn it warmer and rh will go up colder and rh will go down. I got mine dialed in to around 50. Your timing is cutting it a little close but you can either finish drying and jar or leave in the fridge. I'll lost this over there.

Yea it gets nail-biting trying to time out drying and curing before an absence.

When I washed I used warm water in with the lemon juice, I've heard strong arguments against using hot water.

If the bags are closed it will slow down the drying process more than if they are open.

If it were me I would try and get them dried down to about 60% over the next 7-10 days not sooner. Don't rush drying it, it will ruin it.

It still leaves you plenty of time to get them into jars and burped for several days if necessary before you leave.

I'm not sure on a timeline for low and slow, seemed like a few weeks when I tried it. Maybe you could do your last drench thing and leave them drying in the fridge while your gone, ready for jars when you return?

Thanks Guys! Well I panicked and cut down 3 of the 4. Really sucks because it’s Sunday night and my wife and I have work in a few hours. we got it done but it took a lot more time than expected. Just over 3 hours. Mostly to cut the plants into branches and do a quick trim and defoliate any fans.

I appreciate the tips and advice on how to proceed. I figured I may aswell get them washed and hung ASAP due to my absence coming up.

The fourth girl is the smallest and least to show she’s done. She hardly has any signs of fading. And her big fans are also praying still just as nicely as ever. She also was the slowest drinker. All these girls are finishing on 1 if not 2 GEs in a row. One had a little water to adjust to the others drying out tonight prior to a GE.

I did a 3 bucket wash with 1 cup Baking Soda and 1 Cup LJ in the first. All 3 had 4.5gal or more of RO. All room temp water. Didn’t bother with running hot water. And read some who don’t like it but many who do with good results.

I failed to take many pictures this past 5-6 days. Sorry for that. The harvest of the 3 girls looks good. Two 8ft long clothes lines are almost full of washed buds. They look no worse for wear after 20-30secs of swishing and dunking in each. Bucket. My grow tent is very clean and my fans are cleaned between every grow. Most of the debris in the water was leaves from a quick wet trim of the fans. Lots of red dried up pistils. A few hairs here and there. And that was about it.

Overall I’m super happy with the bud washing. Seems this will help Slow down the drying a fair bit and allow them to dry out evenly. They will sit overnight to drip dry. The room is around 50% RH and 68-69f. Lights are off as I only have some 4ft T8 for laudnry area.

Hopefully I can cut the other girl down tomm after work and get her washed up. Wise I stick the others into the fridge. Going to be a rough day lol.

Here’s what pics I did shoot

This is the girl I didn’t cut down. She’s ya the most dense nugs I’ve grown to date. Also some thick frost. Tempted to give her a next GE lol. Hardly any signs of fading. She does drink slow though.

Drip drying after washing. Super frosty.

Still dripping wet. The smell of these with the lemon juice was great.

Will update soon with the low and Slow progress. I’m pooped and need some Z’s. Catch you guys later. :passitleft:

Don't count on them drying more slowly than usual. In my case, they dry faster for some reason. Jus' sayin'. Check 'em in a couple days.

:Namaste:

Oops! You're doing low n slow? I'm only talking about the hanging part.

Thanks for the heads up Gray. Yeah going to try low and slow. Hoping 2 weeks in the fridge is enough. If not I hope they take 3+ weeks so I can just leave for my trip with them in there. Return and proceed with curing.

Might pass by a McDonald’s or Pizza store and see if I can get some more paper bags / pizza boxes. I have a feeling the fridge will be packed.

Harvest Update ,

Chopped the girls March 3rd. In the fridge March 4th 24hrs later.

Left one plant for another 2days because I got busy. Chopped her March 6th. In fridge same night after 4hrs drip drying.

It’s been just over a week in the fridge for the first three plants. And around 6days for the last one. temps are 40-55f and 30-40% RH. Crisper is the higher of those values.

I’ve been keeping tabs on them and taking them out to inspect almost daily.

Yesterday night is the first time I felt any crispyness on the sugar leaf. The buds are still moist inside. They have all been in either brown paper bags or cardboard boxes. All closed with small openings.

I tested a small batch of nugs. Around 5-6grams. Put them in a air tight glass jar. With a Caliber VI gauge. After just 2-3 hours the RH was up to 70-72%. Too wet.

Back in the fridge. Will check again either tonight or tomm. You guys weren’t joking about the smell. My entire house is rankkkk.:oops:. The fridge must be cycling air out or in. It took a couple days for it to build up.

The nugs have some “fresh green “ scents that I hope will go away. With the low and slow I can see 14-21day drying times. Also I didn’t do much trimming so that could also contribute to the fresh green smell. Once I get them close to 65-68% stable over 24-36hrs in a jar. I will pull the trigger and do a final manicure. Then I plan too vac seal them down in 1-4oz packets. Is it safe to vac seal them in ziploc bags or will that crush the buds and stick alot of resin to the bag? I can buy a jar sealing kit if needed.

I am not sure if it’s my lights or just strain but the nugs aren’t as dense as I would like except on the small plant. Those feel solid. With any luck the rest of drying / curing and the vac seal will tighten them up a bit and I’ll be satisfied.

Some of the smells the plants exhibited while growing are still present although not as strong now. I’m hoping those return with a vengeance once curing happens.

I have tested a few small buds that I dried in a small brown paper bag left somewhat open. They dried out faster and were probably still moist inside.

Used scissors and let them air dry on a table for a little before I rolled them up. The smoke is not harsh at all and the draws are smooth and filling. A bit of the green type taste on the exhale. But not much to notice. The high was intense. Racy and sativa. Lasted a couple hours maybe. Not bad as I’m a daily smoker for 15years.

Here’s some pics ! Cheers Gang.

Sugar Land in here :slide:

Will give next update once drying is done and final trim / weight. Thanks guys this was a great grow for me. Learning a lot and excited to get another round going come April.

Have a great day Gang :green_heart:

Congrats on the harvest Wrenn! Awesome job! The plant smell will dissipate and the good smell will evolve with the cure, can't say it'll be as good as when they were growing but maybe...,? I just jarred some of mine the other day and they're hovering around 70 so I'm burping them 2-3 times per day. Just checked a jar that I closed an hour ago and it's at 62 so should be done soon.

Congrats again! Looking forward to your next grow. :yummy:
