Thanks Bass. :)

You'll be happy with the Blue Planet nutrients - I am extremely pleased so far.

:thanks: guys, I really appreciate that.

It was fun to get some pictures without the HPS making color a challenge. The BPN nutes and the Liquid Blue bloom booster seem to work well - they're really really sticky. I have to give props to the Flo N Gro, too. Really a nice machine and so easy to use. I just hope I don't screw anything up down the home stretch! :)

Got this new toy today:

My wife and I have been talking about getting one of these for a while, and she surprised me completely by buying this on her own and bringing it home tonight. The Magic Flight Launch Box is a really cool portable vaporizer, and I've heard some good things about it from a couple of friends and the folks at the local headshop. It's powered by a rechargeable AA battery (comes with 2 of them) and you just push the battery into the hole on the side until it touches the battery contact inside.

As I understand it, you just load the bowl with ground herb, push the battery against the contact and hold it until a vapor builds in the bowl compartment and inhale. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, and should be a perfect way to vape on the go.

I'm charging the batteries as we speak (wife was smart and bought a bunch of extra batteries and a charger with it, too). I'll let you know my impressions of it once I get an opportunity to try it - hopefully later tonight!

It's also available from a 420magazine sponsor, ezvapes.com:

Finally, Bassplayer (whatever happened to Bassplayer?) did a review on the Magic Flight Launch Box earlier this year:

Magic Flight Launch Box Vaporizer - 420 Product Review

I also have a Silver Surfer vaporizer as my home daily use unit, and it's made me a convert to vaping for sure. It's gonna rock having a portable one to take to A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas in 3D... ;)

Anybody else have one of these? Any tips/whaddya think about it?

:high-five::yahoo:

My buddy who I give all my extra plants to (As if there IS a such thing) Got one of those last year. It works well, although he doesn't take care of the batteries very well, which kinda ruins the performance I think.
Go easy the first time, lol. My first time I hit it, the damn thing hit me back! You're no rookie to the vapes, though, so I'm sure it'll be sweet! Good woman you got, enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback Quix, I've heard that the batteries need to be taken care of and charged well, so I'm really glad my wife was thinking ahead with the extra batteries and charger.

Yes, my wife is the best! :)

Initial impressions of the Magic Flight Launch Box...

Last night we broke out our new portable vape to see if it was gonna work for us.

It's a much different experience than the Silver Surfer, which - to me, is a better overall vaping experience. But... It should be. The Silver Surfer is far from portable, plugs into an outlet, and is a sturdy machine for the home.

Having said that, the Launch Box worked and worked well. It took me a minute to get the nuance of the proper draw speed and how long to heat the chamber before inhaling, but once I got the hang of it the hits were clean and smooth - and surprisingly effective. I didn't get to test it as much as I'd planned, because I got good and stoned in the process and melted into the sofa.

I really see the value of this for it's portability. It's not much bigger than the AA battery that powers it. It's small enough to slip in your pocket, and would be perfect for anything on the go. Combined with the vaping benefit of virtually zero lingering odor, this device opens up a world of possibilities. I thought it was interesting reading the customer quotes on the literature in the package - one of them read, "I used it in the movie theater!" I think you could probably get away with using it in the movie theater. Very little odor, small, discreet -- perfect travel companion!

We were able to get several hits before the battery lost enough charge to properly vape. It's a gradual process, by which the hits take a bit longer to build a vapor in the chamber as the battery loses some power. I should note that my wife got the hang of it much quicker than me (I burned some bud my first attempt - doh!). We were both pretty stoned before one battery ran out. (It comes with 2, plus a rapid charger). We also got an additional smart charger and batteries, just in case...

Anyway, just wanted to share my initial impressions on the Magic Flight Launch Box:

I give it 2 thumbs up and a permagrin - my "highest" rating! :thumb: :thumb: :)

Thank-ya! I was looking at this one as well. I'm glad you tested it 'cause I was leery about dropping that kinda cash only to be pissed that it wasn't any good. But with two thumbs up *and* a permagrin, I know I'm fairly safe in that purchase. . .

Thank you for the review. I now know what I want for a holiday gift! What better gift can be given, than that of happiness and healing?

Concerning the RO discussion.

I recently learned that my humble abode receives RO water in the kitchen sink! The maintenance man showed me the largest filtration system I've ever seen. It was attached to the end of the building in a shed. They said it was put in because there were a couple of families that lived there in my building a 15 years ago that SUED the complex, or the city(that part is unclear) because of poor quality drinking water. Of course, I was doubtful, so I tested. When everyone else in the city has 100 - 250, I have 40ppm out of my kitchen sink... 120 out of the bathroom. So. . . . HOLY FRIKKIN CRAP! They do need to change the filters though I think.

So that in mind, and given the low ppm of my water out of the kitchen, I think I will forgo the portable system.

I never knew~sorry.

Looking sweet my friend, I don't say much in hydro grows cause I don't have anything good to say (not even in soil or Hempy) so I just look at the pretty pictures and bob my head.

Great to see you doing so well with the BPN nutes, I'll be using them real soon!

Sisco, I just like having you around - you're a good guy and your pics, vids and comments are often the bright spot of my time here. So, say a little or a lot, it's just fun having you around buddy! :high-five:

Blue Planet nutes are producing for a lot of people, I love them, and I'm sure you will too. :)

As far as the Launch Box, it's not something I'd use as my every day way to vape, but it's a definite winner in that it is an effective way to vape easily on the go. I guess it could be decent as a daily user, but I prefer the sturdier plug in vape for home use. If that's what you're looking for, I don't think you'll regret it.

I was giggly high when I wrote the "two thumbs up and a permagrin" bit. The cheesiness of it just made me giggle. I'm still liking it a lot. My wife loves it - she's always had a harder time with the Silver Surfer (accidentally burning the bud). She was right at home with this right off the bat.

It has a lifetime warranty, too... Hope Santa treats you well this X-mas! ;)

Cool! What a bonus to have decent water out of the tap. :thumb:

Thanks for the review on the mini pocket vapouriser bro looks like a very handy tool! I love vaping and have a Pyramid Vappy 150 couldnt afford the 'volcano' works pretty well and gets me licked.. :D

:peace:

Hi Godspeed -

I breathe so much better since I started using the vaporizer, and I don't think I could go back aside from the odd occasion with friends or something. It's also a huge bonus that it doesn't leave such a lingering odor. It is a slightly different high, though - at least to me. I feel like I get a lot more of that paranoid feeling when I smoke as compared to vaping. I don't miss that either... :)

Yeah i agree on the high is diffrent i find it almost cleaner if that makes sense.. What do you do with your vaped weed?

Hi GodSpeed -

I don't save it but I know a lot of people save it for edibles (supposedly there is still some potency left). I only provide for myself, so I usually have plenty of sugar leaf trim for edibles, and saving it/reusing it for that purpose seems a bit gross to me somehow. However, people who do save it for edibles have commented that they like the flavor as it is somewhat nutty. I can see that - used vaped bud smells a bit nutty to me.

Good cured bud tastes really good in a vaporizer to me - and my sinuses thank me for it, too. I find the flavor to be cleaner in a sense, too.

Take care - hope you had a great weekend! :)
