I forgot your new to my journal, WELCOME! I grow with ROLS and my girls get nothing but rain/ spring water and homemade organic nutes consisting of Aloe water, green coconut water and black strap molasses. No flushing necessary here . but yes, I am going to wait a bit longer before I chop. I gave her a good bit of water day before yesterday and now just letting her dry out. I like harvesting my girls nice and dry...ready for a drink.

Grand Purple Dragon F1 (GPD) - For those who don't know or remember, this is my F1 cross of Blue Dragon (Sour Diesel x Blueberry Kush) and GDP I grew out this spring. This was just a trial run as I knew there wasn't much time left for outdoor growing. It went 12/12 naturally from seed. With that being said, ill be growing

She's still putting out a number of white pistils so I know she still has a little longer to go, but not too much.



-Here they appear some clear, mostly cloudy and some amber.

What do you all think?

You have some white, crisp, happy looking pistils mixed in with the mature pistils.

You have a lot of clear trichomes mixed in with the amber and lanky, wonky looking trichomes.


When you girl stops producing new white pistils and the existing white pistils start shrinking back into buds - I'd take her then. By trichomes she looks darn close to ready, but if she produces more new pistils my trichomes just sit there rather than turning more mature. So for me, I'd wait for the pistils to change and then double check with the trichomes.

No science behind that approach - just what I do and the family enjoys the results

I agree with you again Rad.

I'm thinking wait another 4-5 days and hopefully she'll be about done producing new white pistols and most of those still clear trichs will have gone cloudy. I should know better by now but this new strain has me really excited and I'm starting to get antsy. I truly believe this is one of the most impressive plants I have ever grown and I cant wait to grow out a number of these next spring & summer and work on stabilizing the strain.

Pics taken this afternoon. She's really starting to pack on weight now and clearly foxtailing; but ive never had or seen a problem with that. Leaning. Sticky. Stinky. Loving it

She's getting more purple by the day like I was wishing! I was finally able to capture some of her beautiful colors today with all of her glory! We're finally getting some cooler nights and ive been adding ice cubes at night to supply water and lower the temps around the root zone to hopefully help bring out more colors before chop.

High def $2 trichome pics. Still a lot of clear, some cloudy and some amber. This is a tricky one but I'm up for the challenge! She's so covered in resin, I'm not worried about some degrading because as you can see, there are soooo many still clear.

Good Evening 420 Family!

Hope all is well in your worlds. I didn't even realize, things have been so crazy here with work, another hurricane and everything, I didn't even realize it had been 8 days since my last update! Well, here we are, and its harvest day for Grand Purple Dragon (GPD)!!! So excited! My pistils are now 80 Orange/ 20 white, and my trichomes have finally matured to about 70/30 cloudy to amber with a few pesky clears still in there but she's coming down! I took these pictures early afternoon, went about my day and am just now remembering to post. As soon as I hit "Submit Reply" I'm headed to cut her down, trim, wash and hang her! Will update with those pics later as I'm sure ill be tired by then but here they go!
