Green Knight Berry Bomb Experiment #2 - LED

We're now starting week 7 from 12/12 and she's beginning to look nice. And smell nice. When you squeeze the buds (which are really dense) you get a proper berry smell. Couple more more weeks and then, boooom.......!!

Thanks Vick, and cheers for the reps mate. Yes, much denser buds this time round. Should get a much better yield hopefully through denser buds and more of them. I wanna smoke some though! But a couple of weeks to wait!

Hey AJ!!
How you been man!!
Haven't seen you around lately.

Hope everything's gravy!

Wow GK! The change with LEDs is awesome! :high-five:

AJ!! Hope all's well mate, haven't seen you around for ages! Thanks for the reps, I hope all's well at your end.

The led is the nuts mate, I would highly recommend one. Higher initial outlay admittedly, but only 75w more than the cfl in leccy, but a crazy difference. And no heat, less even than the cfl.

Looking sweet GK, its definetly a different pheno than mine the nugs are a different shape. I think im going to pop these other 6 bb seeds I have next round and see if that pink pheno really exists or not, I have my doubts:)

Thanks for the reps Jon. There seem to be a few berry bomb phenos - hank's also got one and it's completely different too - I think it's quite a variable strain. I love the purple thing but I reckon it's pure marketing if I'm honest. It's the pistils being purple in their photo. Never seen purple pistils. The calyxes or sugar leaves having some purp I could get, but the pistils? Makes me think food colouring, lighting, photoshop or something.

see what I'm sayin!!?

wiw!

Glad you figured it out..

:Namaste:

photo's and buds look beautiful.
It really makes a difference when you can accurately show everyone exactly how you're seeing your buds.

If everyone took the time as you did to learn how their camera's white balance worked.
We'd have some serious bud porn up in here.
*quick tip- when you take a white balance, take it up close with macro. it gives you an overall reading of the subject under the light that's cast upon it without being infected by the background light.. Then the camera will be set on that balance.
Move back out, and the next shot will be looking like you shot it under a MH.
say bye bye to yellow HPS photos bro!

Sweet! I've since read your post about setting the wb with a cfl really close and the led in the background for colour. That's my next job!

What I don't understand is why this isn't more common knowledge? I've got a canon ixus, a reasonable digital camera, but not a proper camera by any means. I didn't think it would have wb but there it is, tucked away in the menu. And it's so logical and simple, but bloody clever....

My pleasure guys!
And thanks for the reps!
:high-five:

As I've said before, pretty much every digital camera from a Linux to a Canon rebel will have manual white balance settings.
If it doesn't? it's probably over 15 years old..
The cameras automatic white balance does the best it can, but since most consumers aren't going to mess around setting white balance on every shot while on vacation, nobody bothers to read into it. And since most of those consumers aren't shooting HPS photos but more likely their baby's first steps, or the grand canyon, the cameras do a pretty good job of adjusting to slight color shifts, (tungsten, flourecent etc..)
Another cool thing about it, is that once mastered. And your camera has a decent macro? then there's no need for the 100x scope to check trichs!

:Namaste:

i wish my tablet had manual wb, i miss my polaroid you can see how good my pics used to be,going back to 6 months ago i had some nice wb shots i discovered it on my own trying to find a way to stop the evil hps yellow monster, but when we moved i cracked its lcd and cant see to use the menux sucks! im on a mission to get a new camera! after new bulbs sigh, those are your best shots by far gk ty for explaining it vick! :bravo:

Thanks bid, I'm gradually getting the hang of the camera, all with the help of Vick! Sucks about your camera breaking mate; your photos are still great though!

My pleasure guys!

Yes! And it's much nicer being able to actually look in detail, without a shaking hand trying to peer through a little lens!

You've motivated me to take some photos and do an update....!

It will be the start of week 8 from 12/12 this Saturday so I'm going to start the flush - Final phase tomorrow and then fresh water and Boost for 7-10 days, see how we go.

She's starting to fill out quite a bit now. Some wb photos and also some purple ones, just cos they do look cool! I'm really pleased with how she's turning out this grow, much nicer, bigger, denser buds, and a much more berry smell. Don't know if I'll grow her again though, we'll see. I've got a clone to play with but the Super Lemon Haze is just popping her head up.

This one's filling out. I don't think she will, but I'm hoping she fills out fully: a nice big stick of frosty bud would be sweet:
