Five Strains In 33"x33" - 600W HPS - Organic Soil Mix - 7 Gal Pots - Water Only?

Major, what's goin on my brotha...How's the booth , and stuff?

Good morning bro!

The phone booth is nearly empty. I'm chopping the last two (Blue Dream and Sour Diesel) this morning. Once I get them trimmed, washed and hung, I'll clean out the room and get ready to move the new kids in there. I'd like to make sure all the mites are gone, but I don't know what more I can do to it. No matter how I clean and bomb the room, the little buggers come back so that they become an issue somewhere in mid-bloom.

I also need to sex these eight plants while they are still in 1 gallon pots, pick the ones I will finish, and get them up-canned into their 7 gallon homes ASAP. I've never transplanted once in bloom. I don't like it, but I won't grow more than 4 plants in there again and want to flip them while they are smaller than this last time around.

I hope your weekend is better than the week so far. Cheers!

When you are cleaning do you pay extra attention to the ceiling? That's where they like to hang out. Your problem may be also a twin ovulation from house plants. I would suggest getting some coveralls and when you go to your garden strip down and out on the coveralls that will stay there by the phone booth. That way you won't bring the little buffers in from somewhere else. It's also why I tend my garden in boxer shorts.

Excellent advice.
I do clean the ceiling, but there are spots I cannot get to (like between the original glass blocks and the wall I built to enclose the space). My best move would be to make a new room that is more functional for my purpose - including easier to clean EVERYWHERE.
My wife loves to garden so I think we could easily have mites everywhere. She brings some of her plants inside for the winter. Here it is 40 degrees and we have a small Meyer lemon tree with at least a dozen lemons on it.

Nice turn around Major.......:goodjob:
Thanks Neiko! They look even better today.

That is excellent news. How sexy was it when you moved it? :cheesygrinsmiley:

The sad state of affairs. I'll likely close this journal this week. I hope to see you on the next adventure in the High Brix Phone Booth.

Weekend Update (week #15)
Post-Harvest Wrap Party

Happy Sunday Gang! :circle-of-love:

It's time to put this journal to bed. I will NOT hit my goal of three harvests before I spring back outside for a summer grow. I could do it, but I have plenty of produce and I'm more interested in getting something started for summer once my toddlers finish up inside.

I have final weights. I've only done this once before, so I'm not sure if the yield is decent under the circumstances. I have two limitations: space and time. Space is a self-imposed limitation. My current space lets me grow all I can use so I think I'll stick with the shower - at least through this winter season. The shower stall is 33" x 33", but the plants can hang out a little, especially by the door. I'm going to say I have a 3' x 3' space = 9 sq. ft. As for time, since the space is small, I prefer a relatively quick veg' rather than a lot of topping, fluxing, and the like. I think I can get an extra harvest each year that way. My legal plant count is 4 so a SOG isn't really an option.

Since space and time are my primary factors, I'm going to measure and compare my grow yields on a "per square foot", a "per day", and both combined (grams per day per foot) basis. Here we go:

Pitbull
PB_Weight.jpg

Blue Dream
BD_Weight.jpg

Ace of Spades
AS_Weight.jpg

Sour Diesel
SD_Weight.jpg

Total yield = 236 grams trimmed and jarred bud + 2 ounces of trim.
236 grams / 105 days = 2.25 grams per day
236 grams / 9 square feet = 26.2 grams per square foot (my goal is to double this number ... someday)
236 grams / 105 / 9 = 0.25 grams per day per square foot.

So, about 8-1/3 zips added to the medicine chest + about a gram of scissor hash and dry sift (yum!).

SD was a minor a disappointment in yield, but the stuff is absolutely KILLER! I felt like an idiot for trimming it. I swear all the sugar leaves are better than anything I've bought. Luckily all the trim went into a new batch of Cannaoil for the "War Department". The other disappointment is Shark Shock. Not a great yielder and a real pain to trim. Unless it offers excellent pain relief, I'll not try it again. Blue Dream was the best of the bunch - both for yield and potency.

On to some porn to finish off this journal. My phone makes these all look about the same. In person, they look and smell very different. Please note: I'm a very lazy trimmer these days. Since it for my consumption only, and I'm not in the NotM competition, I get rid of most of the sugar leaf and call it good.

The shower is all cleaned out and ready for the new brood. I added rigid foam insulation to the drain pan to help keep the roots warm. Also, I'm adding some 2x2 or 2x4 scrap to keep the pots off the floor. I'm hoping it aids in drainage and airflow. It probably won't make a difference, but it is free and every little bit might help.

Speaking of the new brood, the "tykes" are now "toddlers". They get their own journal, starting in a day or two. I hope you will join me once I get it posted.

They all bounced back from their stunted beginnings. The bottom set of single-fingered leaves will never recover, but all the later growth looks good and they seem happy. No drenches or water since their up-potting. I've given them their first Brix with a schedule of Brix on Thursdays and DeStress on Mondays. The pots are getting lighter but I think I'm still several days out from their first Growth Energy.

Before this journal is officially closed, I want to thank all "the Gang" and everyone at 420 who follows my grows and who offers me advice and fellowship. You know who you are and I hope you know how much I appreciate you. As I learn, I hope to be able to pay it forward with new growers over the coming years. New friends. A new grow. A newly legal state. A new year just around the corner. A world of possibilities!

Thank you 420.
That's a Wrap!

Hope all is well in your world.

Thanks for sharing this grow with us.

Please head over to the 420 Strain Reviews forum and post your smoke report there too.

I’m moving this to Completed Journals now.

Have you started a new grow you would like to share with us?

If so, please feel free to start a new journal here: Journals in Progress

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.

:Namaste:

Yep - we cook with coconut oil a lot. We made cannaoil with it in the MB machine. The wife doesn't smoke so that is part of her medicine.
New grow journal in the works. DBHBB this time around. :thumb:
