Just Say No To Blurple Pics

I used to turn off my purple grow light and get a flash light and stand on my hands bending over backwards to get a good picture, but now Im good at growing weed so I’m too medicated for all that.
:passitleft:
day 8 no issues.

Glad u can medicate and be blinded by your pics

As stated

Blurple lights are good, pics are not..
U understand that some people really get hurt by the pics. And standing in the light with your plants is very damaging to your eyes

But hey...you be you.....

It's an epidemic of grave proportions!!!!

The amount of Blurple pics being posted, even worse, peeps asking "what's wrong with my plant"

ITS FREAKING BLURPLE!!!!! THATS WHAT

Someone said "Nice Pointsettia" think that will be my reply from now on

Please, please, please, we can't tell anything with blurple lights on, and as the photo taker, what do u think we can see, didn't u look at your own pic?????? Might as well take a picture in the dark........

Let's please save our lovely plants by joining the new revival

JUST SAY NO TO BLURPLE PICS!!!!!!
Hello. I totally get you on this point. But I wouldn’t want to mess with the lighting to take a pic and my plant is 5 foot 4 and in a 15 gallon pot so I can just yank it out. What am I suppose to do?

Nearly every camera has a flash. Switch off the light and use the flash. Doesnt cost anything. Costs less even ;)

Some folks just gotta be jerks...

Which one Urb...? I haven’t taken a blurple photo in over 2 years :hmmmm:
I tried that but plant is too big :p

It's an epidemic again of Blurple

Guess everyone is ready for Xmas and are dreaming of Pointsettias

I mean, can you really see a spot on that leaf under NEON RED LIGHTS

I need to invent a filter for my phone that blocks any blurple pictures or excessive blurpleness

Hmmmmmmm
Sorry to hear that. If I could find a way to get around that I would

 :rofl:thanks Chris! Best laugh I’ve had in a while. I hate the blurples too... also becasue i find them actually painful to look at (I think others do too).

SO KUDOS for the moment of activism that drove you to post this thread - i only saw it because it’s on the most recent list of most popular topics (the 420 email)... hopefully that means everyone is reading it and the epidemic will diminish

I used to put the green sunglasses that came with my blurple light over my camera lens like what Weaselcracker describes he does for hPS - it works... SweetSue used to do that too ...

:thumb: REPS
Cool the glasses tip! I will see what I can do for the future

I use HPS lights and an old phone for a camera. If I try to take a photo in my lighting it’s basically pointless because it looks like crap.

Some solutions-
Sometimes I take the plant outside, or use a flashlight or headlamp. Often I take them the few feet to the metal halide in the veg room , or hang a fluorescent bulb for photos. Mostly I use some cheap HPS sunglasses I bought online as a filter. You can get cheap LED sunglasses too. As posted earlier in the thread.
These sunglasses allow you see your plants a lot better in person as well. Phone camera app settings let you tweak the photo colour a bit too.

I assumed the purpose of the thread is mainly for new growers that are asking for help with their plants, while posting blurple pics. It’s about helping people with their plants. No one can diagnose anything with a plant that looks like radioactive candy. Yes they look great at a rave party, and if you happen to like blurple pics that’s just personal choice.

But- if someone actually wants help in the FAQ, then they need to post more natural looking photos. My personal choice is to just move on. I don’t have Chris’ patience to stay and point out the obvious.

Here’s a shot with the quantum board on

over all natural lighting is best for Diagnosis purposes. Or just generally looking over the plant.

What is the strain you are growing, looks almost like a pure Sativa....

I chimed in because I am guilty of the Blurpee! I am sorry if my purple pics drives any of you crazy. I have started my first journal and unfortunately it’s all I got for now. I will work on finding a solution to the problem. Personally if you can grow a plant like mine with LED over the recommended ways well I feel I should represent the light for the product I am proud of. Cheers
