Today's pictorial update

I added a generous teaspoon of Epsom salts to the 10 litre watering can today, I added some Epsom salts when I mixed the soil about 3 years ago, and today I was reading a great post by @Tokin Roll on Epsom salts, and I added what I considered to be just a modest amount to the girls water, along with their usual measure of worm wee!

So without further ado, here they today in the sunshine!

Be well and may your gardens be great! :yummy:

Like last year's WWG, that Godfather OG is stealing the show!
Thanks Shed. I am somewhat amazed that she has reached her current size from being germinated 6 weeks later than last year's WWG because I wanted to aim for smaller plants. After the late start I really regretted that idea, as compared with last year's, these plants in December were looking so small I thought I'd only get a couple of ounces off each of them, but now I'm feeling happier! I condensed the Godfather's canopy in training to keep it smaller so she also has the most number of cola heads by far out of the 3 plants.
You're gonna have yourself a feast at the end of this!
Thanks Sy, yes now I'll have to buy some more jars I think!

Flowering plant porn update - and 3 good viewing angles!

When viewed side on, the height of the girls has worked out pretty good from the LST and 5 rounds of supercropping. I started the supercropping 1 month earlier this year compared to last year, and that has been a good thing because it has allowed their canopy to sit lower and cola growth to grow more vertically taller, while overall, still being no taller than last year's grow. Height wise they are no more than 24 inches tall.

Bud close ups & spraying with Bacillus Thuringiensis (BT)

This afternoon I had a clear 'under the radar' opportunity when I heard the neighbours go out and the weather was good so I went about taking some closeup bud pics . I find enlarging pics on the screen is the only way I can see any detail these days. My vision all my life until recently was really good and sharp, but since I have got glasses I feel it's even worse :nerd-with-glasses:. I hoped that with the brakes on global travel because of Covid, that it might help delay ageing a bit, but unfortunately there was no delay, I still ended up departing for my annual, and 61st orbit around the sun.

Anyway, today highlighted a big benefit on viewing one's plants close up, either with your own good eyes if you've got them, or with magnification. Why, because you can get to see closely if there are any signs of pests. Up until now, my plants have been looking surprisingly clear and clean of bugs, but this afternoon on reviewing the pics I saw the first white butterfly caterpillar of the grow, a fairly fat one sitting on a Godfather OG bud, bugger! Nevermind, I'll just have to look out for where the bud shows damage in the coming days, with caterpillars it often doesn't appear until later when the damaged budlets start to die off, or worse rot. I immediately mixed up some BT and sprayed all 3 plants. BT being the bacterium Bacillus Thuringiensis - it kills caterpillars and is not toxic to their natural enemies.

The first pic shows the caterpillar that was spotted.:lot-o-toke:

However, overall they are looking pretty good and I'm loving their progress!:ganjamon:

Those caterpillars are the same kind I had last year- they ate the hell out of the leaves, but didn't go near the buds, so maybe you'll get lucky...
Moth caterpillars are a different story- they burrow right into the buds, and then the buds rot from the inside out- that BTI is a real lifesaver, especially if the plants stay outside at night.
Beautiful budshots- Nice 'n frosty!

Another sunny day picture update!:cheer:

2 cola pics from each plant, closer in and further out!

I can't wait to test some of this out when it's ready, I tried some popcorn from the Godfather and it was already very impressive for being still so immature.
All the best everyone! :surf:

Very tasty looking girls on the balcony! :yummy:
We get budworms here so I screen in my girls outdoors. I think the BT spray has to touch them to work and budworms eat deep.
You are going to have sore scissor fingers in no time! Smile and stay stoneder
