Since I've got quite a bit of buds on tap at the moment, despite selling on a fair bit I don't think it will maintain it's smell or taste for months to come so I decided to have my first go at making some quick wash ISO hash.
Took 4 grams of buds and ground them up
Popped the buds in the freezer with some 99% isopropyl alcohol.
Mixed and shook the buds for 30 seconds and burnt off the alcohol using a double boiler. I was left with around 1.5 grams of final product.
I'm pretty pleased with a return of 1.5 grams from four grams. If the final product is of good quality then I think I may turn four or five ounces into some.

For the next attempt I'm going to shake the jar more vigorously, I was a little on the gentle side. And use a flat plate for collecting as a fair chunk was left .
Sweet! How long did you leave it in the freezer? Days, weeks?
I created a tinture using Everclear. Left it in the freezer for 2 weeks, shaking 2-3 times a day. In retrospect, I should have burned off the alcohol as you did. The tinture damn near burn my taste buds and under tongue. Poured it down the drain. Lol

I left it for about three hours lol. Just long enough to freeze the ground up buds and chill the ISO. I think there is an extra step when making tinctures to purge out the alcohol.
It sucks we can't get anything stronger than a regular vodka here so I'm stuck using non food grade alcohol so got to be careful there is none left in the final product.
I do mine similar. I freeze 2 jars half filled with iso and 3.5 ground up buds. Mix buds in first jar with a good shake for 2-3 mins. Strain out and put buds in second jar another good shake for 2-3 mins. Strain and squeeze out all liquid before boiling off the iso. I use a flat bottom Pyrex dish with square edges, it makes for a much easier collection.

And hiddengrow, I generally only run the base canna coco nutrients, although sometimes PK 13/14 if the plant seems like she wants it.
Quick update tonight, the big girl has now done 17 days on 12/12 and all is well. I'm going to give her another couple of days before another minor defoliation .

A little look at the big girl, I'm going to remove some more of the shading fan leaves this afternoon to allow some more light to the lower buds. Also since we're getting close to three weeks on 12/12 it's about time to remove some of the lower branches which wont produce much to stop any wasted energy .

This girl had a trip outside the tent this morning for a heavy flush. I think i will give her another week before harvest.
Fingers crossed the purple kush start finishing up soon as I would really like to start setting up the next plants for when the big girl finishes up .
