Anyone able to give tips about caring for a mother...Basically I am planning on having 4 moms each of a different strain. The moms I have now are just unruly and wild, i dont really have much knowledge on trimming them and keeping them purdy. I know how to TOP and FIM....well sorta. When ever i have topped a mom i literally just cut a chunk of her stalk off....yea im a noob and don't want crazy mothers no more this 4.5ft by 3ft wide one i have now for my PW is just nutty.

Each mother needs to be able to produce 40 clones at one time...and each one will have a 12 week recovery period...so based on that i need to figure out how big each mother should be as well. Just a couple thoughts I am trying to iron out for the new set up. Much mahalo!

If you want to grow 40 plants at a time may I suggest using a staggered harvest. Assuming you want a perpetual grow, you could add 10 new plants every 3 weeks which would also give you a 10 plant harvest every 3 weeks versus a 40 plant harvest every 12 weeks. I would suggest using a 1-3 litre pot

Funny you mentioned that Bonsai Mom thread, i just found it earlier today. Currently one mom is in a 5 gallon and she is just this big ole bush of a bitch! The others are in i think 2.5 gallon pots lol which i think I will keep them in and use the bonsai methods. As for the staggering crop....oh it will be...40 plants every 3 weeks LOL! But that is for the next journal.


And a slight change of plans, I flushed the ladies yesterday and today and tonight she will go into darkness until Sunday morning and then chopped down. I was hoping to get 450 grams from the tent...but I dont think that is going to happen....yet. So we will see, if i get 10 ounces ill be happy though since that is 4 ounce increase from my last harvest.

just chiming in on the mums. I have mine in 2L, they easy produce 15 cuts every 2 weeks each. And more if you Top\fim from the getgo! I just leave a node, kind of topping, every time i take a cut, and in 14 days 2 new ones have grown out In that way they are getting bushier and bushier, thus more clones! Easy, just remember too leave a node for new growth, with every cut, and if the mums are big, leave more nodes for more growth. I personnally just try too keep an even canopy too even out my lights. I know most rooting hormones are in the bottom branches, but my top branches root just as well, so no concern in that matter. I dont flush out nitrogen from the mothers before taking clones either. K.I.S.S.
Works great in the aero cloner just as is. But I do reccomend a weekly or 2. weekly flush with str8 water anyway though..

Ahh i have been terrible at the end of the journal! But here we are I cut down the plants on sunday....i feel partly failed and partly successful. Total yield was 231 grams...not quite where i was hoping. But I will count that to not keeping them single stalked and some not quite stretching to what they should have. Although pulling a half pound out of a 2x4 space....i cant complain to much and it is a 2 ounce increase over my last harvest. With that I think I am on the right track, and I wont lie this is some STICKY STICKY bud! The BPN nutes truly made up for my noob hands lol. They were cut down Sunday, put into mason Jars yesterday for curing. Small plants dry so quickly! Anyways i have 2 quick photos from when they were hanging and tonight or tomorrow ill upload some nice bud photos....hopefully find something to enter into next months NOTM contest!

Monday my buddy is coming over to take some High Res shots of the nugs Also my next journal...will be up tomorrow..i hope "Fun with 2l Hempys" were going to run a perpetual seeing how these babys do under my HPS again, under some Coral T5 lighting, and under LEDS! I rooted my clones under my leds this time and DAYUM!!! 10 days yesterday and the roots are insane!!! I am afriad to look today tomorrow when i transplant should be interesting!

mahalo Spirit! Yea im always torn because i was really wanting to shoot for that 15gs a plant, but I fell short. Then i got to remember, im still a noob and learning, and its a 30% increase over my last grow in yield, and a good 30% increase in potency(at least looks and smell LOL) Waiting for wed to try the first smoke. TOnight is hash making and transplant night, got some ultra refined butane, lets got BHO!

I did bubble bag hash and took my first try at butane extraction, which was pretty damn kool! Finally got some decent photos of the buds taken will post them when i get a chance tonight or tomorrow to close out this baby....gotta start on that new one damn it, day one of flowering is tomorrow!

in the end I can do better, and i think i can push a pound out of that tent! But its a 30% increase over my last harvest thus I am happy! Enjoy what little bud porn I can offer!

This is one of the clones I took from my aero cloner after 12 days. Under a 90W led...i actually had a lot of root tangling issues LOL should taken em out at day 10.

hi mate, ive got 2 x 2ltr hempies going but gone strait to 12-12 under my new 400 watt dual spec hps just so i can compare what i get strait from 12-12, when you grew yours how did you decide when to flip the lights to 12-12, did you wait till certain age or certain height before switching,
