The Stanks Do Stankberry & DTF

I gotta say, I dropped the Stankberry sample off at the Harvest Cup drop off point and when I gave them the sample they were extremely impressed with the appearance and smell. The girl from the lab couldn't believe how crystally (is that a word? well it is for a stoner like Stank) it was. Those buds were so coated with crystals and so freaking solid.

We will have the lab results back on it in a week or two. Samples will go out to the judges along with the lab results and then the judges will start smoking them all over the time before the results are announced. When its time to turn in the results, the judges submit their sheets and take turns discussing their favorites and why they liked them (in appearance, smells, highs, potency). No strain names are known, only the #of the entry (something like #00175). After they talk about them, they take turns sampling the judges favs. Aside from that, I guess the winner should be determined based off the score sheets and hopefully have no influence backing the money entries. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if there was some influence in the judging, its the norm it seems anymore.

Why another Journal Stank's?

We are breaking this journal off from our perpetual as it will allow us to showcase our own crosses. We will post updates of all our Stank Genetics stuff here as a focal point.

We started 8 beans, 4 Stankberry and 4 DTF about a week ago.

What is a Stankberry?

Stankberry is 50/50 hybrid we created from crossing a fantastic smelling Blueberry girl with our monster Alaskan Thunderfuck (ATF) male. Its an aggressive growing F1 with an amazing sweet blueberry muffin smell with towering colas of painkilling buds. Its a great balanced hybrid that will hit you with the initial rush of energy from the Sativa side of the ATF before settling into a very relaxed Indica body buzz. Worries and aches disappear, leaving you about 30 min up to an hour of productive time before you will want to sit back and relax for a movie or a nice meal.

What is DTF?

DTF, also known as Durban ThunderFuck, is a cross of Dutch Passion's Durban Poison and our monster Alaskan Thunderfuck. She is a 90% Sativa that should leave ya ready for whatever life might throw your direction. A few others have grown out the DTF and love the Sativa nature she loves flaunt. She should produce spears of fantastic meds.

How are you growing them?

We are growing all of them in our own homemade living organic soil, under a combination of lights. They were germinated and started under a T5 and will be moved under a Perfect Sun Dwarf Star for their veg period. For flower, they will be grown out under our Spydrx Plus from Fluence. No nutes are used....our soil is loaded with everything it needs. We will water with rain water and the occasional ACT treatment. There will be the occasional top dressings with EWC, Kelp Meal, Seabird Guano, Glacial Rock Dust, Basalt, and Gypsum for any additional soil energy needed.

How big are you growing em Stank?

Well we are expecting about a 50/50 ratio of males and females so that would give us 4 plants to work with unless we find a superstar male. We will grow them in solo cups for a few weeks before moving them to 2 gallon pots for another few weeks. They will either be up potted and flipped immediately after up potting if they are threats to grow out of the tent like the last Stankberry. Other wise, we will give them a week or two to get used to the 10 gallon pots before flipping.
The DTF sounds like a great hybrid. those are 2 of my fave sativa strains!

Grow on!

Stankberry Veg Day 6

Today we are updating these girls. They are growing nicely though they are showing a few side effects from the rough shell shedding experience. They got a drink yesterday and were nice and perky today. Its looking like we have two that want to be aggressive growers, one normal grower and one slower grower. So far its showing that three are showing green stems and one is showing a purple strain. The last Stankberrys had green stems starting out. Should be interesting!

DTF Veg Day 14

A quick update on these 4. They are growing very very nicely at this point. Very uniform growth across all 4 at this point. All the stems are showing the same colors. Nodes are staying nice and tight under the T5. Roots are developing nicely and hopefully the soil will get us another 7-10 days.

Stankberry Veg Day 14

We are showing two mutants which are growing incredibly fast right now. They are definitely the faster growers out of the bunch. I know I read somewhere that leaf issues like in #2 and #3 aren't uncommon in Blueberry strains so perhaps thats it. Either way we are going to let them run their course. Speed of growth is speeding up in these now that the roots are spreading. Going to need to give them another drink of rain water later today.

DTF Veg Day 21

Gave these babies another drink of rain water today. Very pleased with the uniformity of the strain so far. I know 4 is a small sample, but they are almost identical. Will likely be up potting these in a day or two to some half gallon pots to await them showing their sex. Cheers!

Stankberry Veg Day 21

These are growing very fast except for #4 who is still a bit of a runt. They outgrew their T5 light and have been moved into the main veg tent for more room. Gave them a drink of rain water yesterday. All these are looking to be up potted this week as well....possibly tomorrow. Cheers.
