So my two 40 watt incandescents were not just for heat after all! Yeah, I knew that all along...
In Rider's thread there were two different discussions of far red: one on Phytochrome trigger and one on the Emerson effect. Rider was using his red-only LEDs at lights out as Phytochrome triggers to run 14/10.

Yeah I totally thought of this week's ago, and forgot to mention it. It seems like 1 bulb in my grow space would work. Low wattage just for supplemental red to infrared wavelengths! No intention at all of using over 12 hours of "daylight". I think it's a good use if you are running any sort of white LED as it isn't typically tuned into the spectrum. And again 1 low wattage bulb for the entire 2.5 by nearly 5 foot tub could be worth a try!
