Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Just thinking outloud...
Cutting leaves on clones is used for a different reason. Clones have limited roots of water and nutrient uptake. They need less light and we are reducing their respiration/transpiration until the roots can deliver the goods.

Healthy mature plants have all the roots and leaves they need for nutrient uptake and photosynthesis. You could cut partial leaves that look bad on the tip or edges, but probably not worth the effort. How much they add to the plant's health vs. how much energy they pull from that plant is the balance I wonder about. Personally, I'd either remove them entirely, or leave them entirely. I'm interested to hear other's thoughts.

If you consistently have crispy leaves, look to environment first, and cultivation practices second. The first thing I'd consider is getting back to first run soil.

Leaf questions..
...I'm trying the Panama :thumb:

crispy/crisped leaves...get rid of them or do they function somewhat?

The semi clipped leaves on clones function, correct? Why don't growers partially cut the leaves like they sometimes do on clones, when trimming, pruning, etc. Do all lower leaves pull too much energy from the blossoms in ought to keep the leaves alive and working? Im thinking, Maybe this might prevent stimulation of leaf regrowth?

BTW, Im loving the Panama :)

Thank you in advance to whomever responds.

I remember from my research on leaf metabolism, that older fans are primarily sugar producers, pretty much out of the hormone loop. They don't "pull energy" - if anything they only add energy. :cheesygrinsmiley: I can't think of any reason they shouldn't be clipped instead of removed.

Glad to have another fan of Panama on the forum!

I can easily grow more than we can consume, but the restriction doesn't let me experiment or play with many genetics. IMO they should distinguish between seedlings and mature plants. Let us start with a dozen or so, weed out males or weak plants, and finish with 4.

Luckily that is exactly how medical grows work here. As long as I have my OMMP cards, we will be allowed 22 immature plants and 10 adults. That works!
Did they up the numbers and I don't know about it or do you have patients

No changes in the numbers and no patients.
After July 1, we can still have the medical grow of 18 seedlings / 6 mature.
Add to that the recreational allowance of 4/4 and you have a maximum of 22 seedlings or 10 mature.
The medical grow is mine. The recreational grow will be my wife's = 22/10 in this household after July hits.

Many people in my age group are starting to go on meds, statins, blood pressure, anti-depressants, sleeping pills and stuff for heartburn/upset stomach.

The people I know who take 2 or more of those drugs begin to age rapidly about a year after being on them. Those on 4 or more are usually quite sick.

that's me

I lost 40 lbs, didn't recognize myself in the mirror, I looked like a crack head, the left side of my body was numb.

I stopped everything but an occasional zanny when stress becomes a little unbearable. And since I retired in Jan it is less than one a week.

Just made my first batch of cannabutter last night and sugar cookies today, I feel like I ate half a Valium.

Although I must admit I think I am aging well, at least I like how I look in the mirror now.

Marijuana puts you in connection with the connection I think we lost a long time ago. Just that natural, earthy connection. I dunno. I feel it makes you more in-tune with nature, the way we were supposed to be. I don't think humans are on this earth to send 1,000 texts a day and play Angry birds.

Hey Boogs....Man...you said it brotha. OK, i'm gonna say a few things about that. Have ya noticed people seem to be moving faster...with a get out of my fu..n way..attitude. Rush, rush, rush...for what? Everyone's texting ,while driving ,shopping, walking, pissing, I want a t shirt that says , i don't yield for texters. Working at a local university , i am right in the middle of it every day. I don't see kids out playing anymore....they're all inside behind a screen! Oh, crap, i could go on and on. Anyhow Boogs and Gang I'm pretty sure most of us feel that way.Cheers eh. gotta grab a Stella....My ladies are a freekin mess...should see em. More pistils today...finally.:thumb:

Yep. Statins destroy the liver and the nervous system. Anti-depressants make you think inappropriatey and can cause suicidal thoughts, Ant-acids keep you from absorbing nutrients from your diet, which compounds all problems.

It's absolutely madness! It's like giving poison to a sick plant, except we're people!

Anything to make a dollar, doc. Unfortunately that's a huge majority of the way the country/world feels. Its a sad truth we have been conditioned to love money and ourselves rather than the people and earth around us. Glad to see some like minded people. Its scary how many people are not like minded and get very confrontational if you bring up anything of this nature. If its not on fox news they don't believe it.

Duggan you got it, man. Have a good night guys.

Doc I like your philosophy. I think there were many cultures on Earth that had that philosophy. It was in the Golden Age. At least we are on the upswing toward another one. I would love to be pleasantly surprised to see Cannabis legalized completely for any use in the US before I go. We'll see what the next 20 years brings. :)

We are on the verge of the technological golden age. The ancient golden age they were most definitely in tune with earthly energies and the spiritual side of life. Ever since the fall of that period we have been slipping into a dark age in my opinion. We are a very left brain species now.

Sorry gonna stop ranting lol

Personally I don't watch news unless its so big that it breaks into 420 Mag or my family asks about it. Then I'm like, "What are you talking about?" and have to do a google search about it. News=fear mongering IMO which is just more stress to live with...I choose no stress.

If "they" legalize cannabis, it will only be after making something equally useful and desirable illegal.

"The State has no power over an innocent man."
Ayn Rand

Instead of legalizing cannabis, we should make it a crime to be a busybody cop/politician minding other's business and engaging in theft at gunpoint for a living.

We should not look to the criminals to get their blessing for cannabis. We should behave as free men and women and IGNORE the cops and politicians. We should have a peaceful revolution that begins with simply defying them....everyone all at once. No killing, no attack or assault (that's what they do)....just a lot of laughter and backs turned. Ignore the M'Fers!

Hope this is ok, if not I'll delete or you can... test run with new P600s... Doc, I'm thinking these things would be perfect in my 4x4

Or, in that room with one more...?

, sorry guys, no plants/porn in this video ;)

Doc, what do few to no serrations on the leaves mean? i have 6 clones that were first started under 11/13 (it was the weed!!)
then moved outside...believe it or not, I even transplanted them into square pots. BTW, I do have pictures of the pots with the TRANSPLANTED plants....i think there are 2 males so i will chop their heads off and tort.. i mean play and learn with them.
There are 2 plants that the serrations are small, almost smooth, there are some w 3 leafs too.

thank you

No serrations usually means photoperiod stress, especially if you get single blades. they could take a while to get back to normal.
