Emmie's Berry D'licious 2019 True Living Organic: No AACT, SCROG, COB, SuperSoil Production Grow & Seed Run

Bulking nicely. I agree about the low maintenance of soil or even soiless mediums. I went away for a whole week. I came back and one was a bit dry but she recovered nicely.

Yes, coco/perlite only requires mixing you nutrient solutions once a week. A DIY autmatic watering system lets me take off for the week. It would be longer if I used a bigger reservoir. Using Mega Crop, it will cost up to $7 CAD per plant, and they say it's good in solution for weeks, if not months. GH nutrients cost several times that.

Soil may not be my choice at the moment, but I sure appreciate Emilya's approach to growing.

Bloom, Day 21
Hi everyone! I hope you all have had as fun of a weekend as I did!

I have come back to the house to a bunch of very beautiful plants at the beginning of the 4th week. I can note no troubles and everyone seems to be growing the buds with abandon. It is really starting to smell fruity when I open the tent... this batch is going to be very fragrant.

Tonight I will let the pictures tell the story, and I will start off with one of our pollinated buds so you can see what is happening there.

Then some canopy and bud shots. Please note that on this message I have employed the color balance feature of my camera so you can see the actual colors.

It is so nice to be able to study photos of healthy plants and to know what I'm shooting for.

Beautiful progress.
Thanks! It has been such great progress that here on day 23, the day after I watered, every one of the plants suddenly had a problem holding themselves up. If it were not for the walls of this tiny grow space, most of the branches would have been drooping down to the floor.
Emergency actions were taken this evening to get everyone back on a vertical footing. With a combination of bamboo and twine wrapped around the circumference of each plant, I believe that we have steadied the ship... at least for now. Pushing the bamboo stakes into the soil confirmed that there is a thick mass of roots underneath, the vulx plant being the hardest to push the stake to the bottom in with a crunch crunch crunch of roots snapping. Getting in there all intimate with the plants, wrapping them in their corsets, it was clear how heavy and sticky these buds are already getting. Now over the next couple of days I want to see the plants turn back toward the light and regain some degree of balance, and then we will readjust the restraint system for the long haul.
Please excuse the yellow at the top of the bottom 3 pictures... I had to use my flash down here and the white balance adjustment didn't like it. Here is the photographic evidence of the tangled mess I have gotten myself into:

Highya Emmie,

Very beautiful colas getting fat and frosty!! I like bud porn like that!

Isn't it heartwarming to look at your colas, knowing you found a way to grow top shelf product allowing you to more enjoy life yourself and your accomplishments?!? I know it is for me. So, now you (and I) can produce some great smoke, and not worry if "your guy/gal" has a dime bag when you get there (the old days, lol).

Bloom, Day 26
Today is watering day, denoted by a slight droop in the bottom leaves on all of the plants except the Vulx plant... it definitely can go a little bit longer than the others. Even so, it still seems to be using the same amount of water as the rest and never has been unable to take as much water as the others... it is just less sensitive about things if the water starts going low.
The buds continue to build well, and even the few that are now standing up at less than a foot from the lights are showing no adverse effects. I will give you some shots of these standup buds for you to decide. All the plants are standing up better now that they have a bit more support and because of the tightening of the canopy, a bit more die off has occurred in the darkness below the canopy as the plant pulls back the goodness from leaves that are not getting enough light.

Bloom, Day 28
Here we are at the halfway point. The buds still look amazing, so today I figured I would switch things out and try out the new WiFi microscope. The pictures are a little misleading under this light... there really are no amber trichomes yet and most of them are clear. There are a lot of them though!

Bloom, Day 33

Everything is looking perfect in there, the Recharge is definitely doing a great job providing the microbes that are supplying the nutrition to these plants. The buds are all filling in nicely and steadily getting larger. They are also rock hard... there are no fluffy buds in this bunch, even down low; these lights are making sure of that.

Look at those trichomes already here just short of week 5!

As we get ready to go into the 5th week it is time for the BackBuilding cuts to be made. I didn't hit every bud, but I did hit 20 or so around the room. By the end of bloom it will be obvious which ones had been backbuilt and which ones didn't.
Here are some that had their tippy tops shaved: (click on these to zoom in)

Lastly, a look at things from the canopy level.

M&M with Vulx:
DSCF7356.JPG

The Vulx has allowed M&M to continue catching up to the largest plants in the tent and now is sporting buds that are just about as high and certainly as large as Red is doing, and I believe that M&M's buds are more mature than the rest... I suspect she may finish first. She is at the moment the most colorful flower in the tent and certainly the one that is trying the hardest.
