Wanted to give @Melville Hobbes a shout out today as I do a kind of update post.

He had suggested, as I've mentioned before, for me to get a microphone holder for my microscope to help me capture those trichome and small object shots more clearly because of my unsteady hands.

Well, let me tell you guys that this gooseneck 3-6ft tall microphone holder is the best! You've already seen how it works for my general cannabis photography but it is also adding so much ease for me on my review photos!

Allowing me to do some cool shots of products in the midst of all the flowers.

For all those who love taking photos of their plants and being creative with it, I'd absolutely look into one of these. For $25, it was a steal.

The main plants seen in these practice photos for 2 of my current reviews are our Sirius Black and Zombie Death. Spicoli is completely absent from these and you can see just glimpses of our Gelato-K in Chunk.

I doubt I will get to Journaling later tonight or getting pics into my journals tomorrow as feeds are tonight and tomorrow and I'm going to prep all my food for Monday, tonight.

I know it's not a great update or anything but I figure I'll just hit you with a few things on these two sponsor products while I'm at it.

So 1st we have @DYNOMYCO. We know this as my innoculent. Since implementing this into my cultivation routine, we have seen phenomenal increases in bounty and expeditious growth.

I've been able to flip my plants to flower 2 weeks earlier than when I wasn't using this product. In fact, I've HAD to because my plants and roots had gotten too big to veg them any longer.

So what does this mean for you? Mychorrizal acts as a super highway as it colonizes and protects your plants from pathogens. The colonized mychorrhiza then attach themselves to places where your roots wouldn't normally go to, increasing both the availability and uptake of nutrients and feeds. In addition, this innoculent encourages the elevated presence of both Phosphate and Phosphorus throughout the plants life cycle.

Both of these nutrients are key to bud development and higher quantities are usually added in flower to promote bud growth. When using DYNOMYCO, your plants already have extra of these nutrients flowing through them from the vegetative stage-the result? Healthier, faster growing, bigger budded plants.

Now the Nova vape is something I have yet to even try yet as I was finishing up the product photos before diving into testing and writing my content. However, I will note some cool things their rep, Harlee, talked to me about.

1. It is a dry vape
2. It is a smokeless vape
3. It doesn't light up NYC when you take a toke, there is no illuminating function
4. It has a special feature that disallows the bud to continue to burn after a hit. It allows you to smoke puffs at your leisure!

These are just a few things. I'm not going to go deep into the specs until I'm sound on them all myself and have had the opportunity to try this unique vape out!

Other than that like I said, if you don't see me here after this afternoon, don't worry, I'll be back Tuesday!

Happy new GROW week tomorrow everyone!
Looking amazing as usual in here !!!!

If it makes you feel better, it wasn't frying, it was sautéing in avocado oil. I recently eliminated fried foods from my diet as well as red meat (with the exception of my meatballs yesterday-it was a holiday dinner) no shrimp and no butter or oils other than olive or avocado.
OK, but I consider pan-cooking in oil to be frying. Yes, avocado oil is a good high-temperature oil, but the nasty chemicals are still being created by the high-temperature cooking. They are HCAs and PAHs. If it's a grain or vegetable being fried (or baked), then you've also got acrylamide being created. Acrylamide forms at or above 248°F. That's a fairly low temperature, since water boils at 212°F.

Anyway, these revelations are actually fairly new to me, and it's a big leap to move away from customary and culturally-based ways of eating. I love tasty food just like everyone else. One thing for sure... beware of corporate industrial food, so called corporate food-like substances, and packaged food with a huge long list of ingredients. This s*** will kill you!

I appreciate you sharing your health routine with us. A lot of people's health would benefit greatly just from simple dietary changes and I feel as if you present this truth well here!
Well said, thank you. :)🙏

Highya Krissi,

I've never seen colas that big before! Simply amazing and awesome! Have you been feeding them Viagra? Looks like it! You're grows are still getting better!! Sirius Black - Last time I saw her, she looked platinum. Now, the color is more purple. Very gorgeous! Your whole tent is very colorful, and I'm sure it will be moreso before harvest!
oils other than olive or avocado.
Great choice. I only use olive oil for about 20 years now. I like fried food (frying pan). A big part of my heartburn, I'm sure. Happy Smokin'

The frosting on the desert looks like pistils and calyx's. Purposefully done I'm sure. Looks yummy!
It was either get creative (since I had my weed smoking family here and not TKs Irish half alcoholics (no offense, @CaptainLucky, me love you long time) or be boring. I'm not boring.
That new light really shows the purple on the Sirius! Wow! Looks incredible, so purple with green popping out the top.
Thanks! I got to tell you, I wasn't expecting the dark purple from her. I thought she would follow suit of her @Weed Seeds Express Sirius Black sister before her, being more rainbow. But heck, this is why I looooove what we do, it's always a BEAUTIFUL surprise!
Looking amazing as usual in here !!!!
Hiiiiii Jacky! Wow! I just love saying hi Jacky on my threads again! Thanks my buddy!

So true. We are what we eat......
Highya Krissi,

I've never seen colas that big before! Simply amazing and awesome! Have you been feeding them Viagra? Looks like it!
I think Sirius Black is producing the purple pills and slipping them to my GGSLH when Im not looking....she must have like a really lucrative side business going on in that tent!
You're grows are still getting better!!
I always like to hope its me but I dont think it is, I just think I am perpetually lucky with cannabis. Its the only luck I've ever had my entire life, everything else, I have had to grind for!
Sirius Black - Last time I saw her, she looked platinum. Now, the color is more purple. Very gorgeous! Your whole tent is very colorful, and I'm sure it will be moreso before harvest!
Well part of that is the use of the new light, it brings out the purple more but absolutely, last few days, she is getting darker and darker while the other girls are taking on more colors and getting lighter. It's a really nice mix in there!
Great choice. I only use olive oil for about 20 years now. I like fried food (frying pan). A big part of my heartburn, I'm sure. Happy Smokin'
I do, too, Bode! I won't say I don't like the stuff that's bad for me, cause I do, generally. Just all about balancing how much of those types of things we consume is so important!

So guys and gals, Days 101/102 Day 44 Flower is upon us!

What a difference in these two pics below: 1st one with the light in the background and the 2nd without....LIGHTING IS THE KEY TO BETTER PHOTOGRAPHY!

At early in Week 6, we have our Zombie Death, Gizmo, looking like she is done to me. I went in for a trichome check just for shits and giggles last night and low and behold, this heavily Sativa dominant is absolutely inundated with amber trichomes. I think she may be the fastest finishing photoperiod, ever-especially when her specs and her sister, both spoke and show us of a near 11 week flower cycle!

This girl is just for whatever reason, ahead of the game. These are probably the WORST trichome shots ever, I realized I hadn't cleaned the scope after I had already taken the photos, so we are a little blurry here buuuut I just wanted to drop a few to show you some of this amber. Mind you, on some other colas I looked at briefly, we have even more amber. Just one of these interesting and unique things we experience every so often in our complicated growing world.

Since I usually do a Plant of the Day, I figured we would do a Full Tent Day being we will more than likely lose one of these girls relatively soon in Gizmo. I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to drought her now or wait but I worry if I wait I'll miss my window. Ugh decisions. I'll make one sooner than later and let you all know what I decide to do moving forward.

.....I went ahead and got us some Marilyn's because, gosh, there is just so much fun in these.......

I did go ahead and grab individual shots of the other girls in the midst of this Full Tent Focus. Gelato-K, I took a sample off of the other day and she dried and that is sole great smoke! What flavor for a half-assed dried and uncredited bud. Just yummy! She was my sample this morning, in fact! Her colas are soooo long and dense.

But if you look at the length and girth of our Gorilla Glue Super Lemon Haze, you may get distracted with her filling in those massive bud sites.

We touched on Sirius Black and our Zombie Deaths already so I think this shall be all for today.

I feed everyone again tonight, it is Wednesday, right? Other than that, I'll check back in later with you my friends! Have a great grow day!

Oh damn! 😲

She's getting so fat this one. Who knew I was missing out on back building this whole time! Maybe it will be something I try to do moving forward on all taller plants or every plant, sheesh!

Hmm, I'm not familiar with back building. Just did a little searching for it and found LA's Quick Guide. So, those monster colas are from back building? Does it really create giant colas, or just better-shaped, fatter colas? How many times did you clip? 🙏

Two clips total of 1/8 maybe a 1/4 of an inch.

Seems bigger not taking enough off to make the difference there. It seemingly works very well! Maybe it is strain specific?

Does this make it seem more meaningful on the back building sense? We have a week of difference between these 3 photos

Highya Krissi,

So much to talk about! All those colors, the fat buds, long legs, oh my! Those trichome shots told quite a story. Surprising, isn't it? But they were pleasing to look at! And yes, GG x SLH top buds! Wow! You'll choke smokin' on those, lol! They don't need supports yet? They look topheavy. But, then, so do all your ladies! The long legs (tall bare stalks) pictures were ZDF? Their heigth doesn't show most of the time. And all those colors - Sirius Black is going to changed to a deep purple? She'll be gorgeous! She is gorgeous! Quite a tentful! And you had a testor from the lady in the back, and loved it. I'll bet you're pretty pleased with yourself! Well, I'm pleased with your efforts also! Love those trichome shots!! Happy Smokin'

So I'm back! Holidays are finally over! Our dinner was delicious, the conversations were great and we all enjoyed each other's company which was most important!
Here's a teaser into our main course and dessert.....

It is DAYS 100/101 DAY 43 FLOWER WK 6!!!

I went and did a mutli-focus entry for today. I didn't want to look at just one girl since I've been absent for a few days.

We will go ahead though and take a look at our Gorilla Glue Super Lemon Haze in Spicoli, as this back-building buds technique has proven to be a winner in my book so far. The size of these colas now after about a week and a half is insane!

Moving on, our Sirius Black is much more purple than my last. A deep purple, too. My seed ran before her had many many colors coming in on her foliage around Week 7. If this girl is going to follow suit it will happen by the end of this week. If not, we are looking at a plant that follows suit in most of the other Sirius Black grows. I had yet to see one with my coloring and wondered if it would happen again or if Falkor would follow more in line with the dark purple hues Sirius Black is known for. In a week or so, we will know for sure.

Contrasting, our Zombie Death in the back, Gizmo, finishing up faster than her sister, is beginning to get some foliar color. Getting those yellows and pinks and some purple as well on her leaves as her buds maintain that pink-purple sugar laiden look she has carried with her since early-flower.

The tent together, smells like I imagine Heaven will smell. It's a massive collection of stupendous aromas and the matriculation of those scents/aromas over the last week has been something to note. We are in over drive in this tent now friends and I can't wait to see what late flower is going to bring us!

That's all for today my friends. These shots are using my new ring light, It helps to pull those colors from the back of the tent from farther away. All these shots were taken with the camera outside of the tent between the ring light. Usually I have to get up and over and inside the tent to pull these colors as well as I did with these pics.

I just played with it for like an half hour last night so pics will get better as I work this light more but for now, I hope these will do! I tried to group the colored girls together and keep our GGSLH out of those pics as much as I could.

Enjoy your day friends! Wish we were all closer so we could share in smoke and food and laughter!

Food + Ladies all looks delicious as I would expect nothing less from you Jersey. Good food + enjoyable times makes life easier for when things aren’t as enjoyable. Personally I don’t eat very healthy but when I return to Florida it will be 90% fresh fish. Can’t wait to combine my new hobby with my favorite, fishing. CL🍀

No disrespect taken Jersey I know what my people are known for and coming from many generations of alky’s and being a retired one myself we tend to live up to the stereotype. CL🍀

Ah yes, excellent bulking-up!
I thought you would agree! It's amazing, I can't wait to see what another week does and then the next 4 cause my Gorilla Glue Super Lemon Haze is a long finisher! Plenty of time to make those even bigger!
Highya Krissi,
Hiiiya Bode!
So much to talk about! All those colors, the fat buds, long legs, oh my! !
Its like the Wizard of Oz but better! Oh My!
Those trichome shots told quite a story. Surprising, isn't it? But they were pleasing to look at!
Sure is but now I know!
And yes, GG x SLH top buds! Wow! You'll choke smokin' on those, lol! They don't need supports yet? They look topheavy. But, then, so do all your ladies!
You know, Gigi never needed support either. This GGSLH is super strong limbed. You would think she would but, nope. Branches are soooo thick!
The long legs (tall bare stalks) pictures were ZDF? Their heigth doesn't show most of the time.
That was everyone so yes, to the left were the ZDF girls. They are nearly 50in so they're pretty tall, too. I think the lolliopping accentuates their legs and height more...like wearing a mini skirt. (Although I need to shop in the kids section for a skirt that goes anywhere above my knees with my lack of height lol)
And all those colors - Sirius Black is going to changed to a deep purple? She'll be gorgeous! She is gorgeous!
I am loving her!

Quite a tentful! And you had a testor from the lady in the back, and loved it. I'll bet you're pretty pleased with yourself! Well, I'm pleased with your efforts also! Love those trichome shots!! Happy Smokin'
I tried a tester from Gelato-K, yes, and it was yummy! Still have some leftover for today in fact! Have a great day Bode! Always a pleasure!
Food + Ladies all looks delicious as I would expect nothing less from you Jersey. Good food + enjoyable times makes life easier for when things aren’t as enjoyable.
good food is the key to happiness lol well in group settings with lots of Italians...it sure as heck doesnt hurt. My sister brought me 7 layer cookies, might as well have brought me a gold block. Those cookies make me happy!
Personally I don’t eat very healthy but when I return to Florida it will be 90% fresh fish. Can’t wait to combine my new hobby with my favorite, fishing. CL🍀
Aaaah yes! Fishing and fresh fish. Mmmmm. So good and sooo healthy!
No disrespect taken Jersey I know what my people are known for and coming from many generations of alky’s and being a retired one myself we tend to live up to the stereotype. CL🍀
Lmao thank goodness, I didn't want to lose my robe buddy over this! Hope all is well Clover, been a minute my friend!

So hello one, hello ALL!

TODAY IS:

DAYS 102/103, DAY 45 FLOWER, WEEK 6

I have been wracking my brain looking for reasons for fast finishes from cannabis. I really haven't found what I was looking for, to tell me why this Sativa dominant Zombie Death is ions in front of her sister and close to the readiness of her tented Indica sister, Sirius Black.

I did a trichome check on Falkor, the @Weed Seeds Express Sirius Black because I wanted to, A. Compare it to Zombie Death, Gizmo and B. To generally check and see where we were in terms of finishing so I can gage when to drought.

Now normal droughting, specs say Week 7, do it. I've kind of adapted a different process over the last year, waiting til closer to Week 8 for most. I just feel like I've had great success in doing so at that juncture-the final last push.

Now, we are already seeing in Sirius Black what we see when droughting, the coraling trichomes. She is so full of them, it is really hard to get clear pictures of the trichomes. I may invest in a better scope because I'm not getting the quality I want, even with the gooseneck holder. It's better but not there and I think it has to do with the scope now more than anything else.

This was a decently priced scope but I can't use its magnification functions from anything over 1.0x. It immediately blurs the picture. Needless to say, I'm not getting the said 1000x magnification on the product label. I'm stuck at idk probably somewhere around 750. I'll look around this weekend and see what I can find.

I am thinking we need to drought Sirius Black next week at Week 7, as she is finishing early as well based off of these trichome shots. So come Monday, I will have 4 droughting...2 in this tent in our Zombie Death Gizmo and Falkor, our Sirius Black and my 2 Big Bulls in the 3x3. It's gonna be an easy week on me making jugs of feed! Woo-hoo!

I'll make up for the time not spent doing that though, trying my very best to document all of these girls. Ive never had so many droughting at 1 time. Honestly, never had more than 2 droughting at one time, so I need to be cautious in my approach and very regimented with checking in on all of them daily.

So since we have touched on a lot of topics in this journal, we have also discussed each of the strains parents in detail, we have done Plant of the Days we have done Full Tent Days, we have also even mentioned back-building buds as of late.

Today, I wanted to touch base on all the ways our indoor grown cannabis plants can finish early and why I think we have some early finishers, especially in Gizmo, this run.

First and foremost, at early flower, we had a cold streak here, it was bitterly cold. Temps dropped down to 60 a few times in the tent. I believe this triggered our Meditteranean growing Sativa, Gizmo, to say oh man, winter is coming early this year. Since then, temps have been consistently above average for this time of year but enough to continue to signal to the plant that she needs to get going.

Second, and I always do this, but running veg at 24 hours also helps to expedite the flowering and finishing process. 24 hours of light allows these plants to do a lot of stuff, including creating a foundation for quick development and optimal health. The plants take in that 'sun' and run with all the benefits the photosynthetic process offers them during the vegetative stage.

Third, flipping the lights sooner. As opposed to me running my plants for 56 days of veg, I went 44 days with this tent. In that time, we go back to point #1, where we had the early onset of cold days and nights come that flip to 12.

Fourthly, trimming them and pruning them regularly allows for the crop to signal its GRN to send increased nutrients to the bud sites, helping them to develop more efficiently and expeditiously.

Fifth, adding in @DYNOMYCO in veg and Humboldt's Flower Stacker in early flower, provides a lot of extra available Potassium and Phosphorus. These two nutrients are the go-to sisters for bud development and when moving through the plant's system, they trigger the plant to bulk and finish.

Lastly, just having the perfect mix of nutrients, evidently forces a plant to finish quicker.

Maybe that particular Zombie Death was just grown a certain way, her seed was predestined a certain way and she happened to personally like the mix of nutrients she received more than the others, just based off of her special genetic makeup that is solely hers.

So with all that said and all these heavily amber inundated trichome pictures to look at, I'll leave you with some bud shots of the lavender, crystalline flowers that Gizmo has been working on finishing up.

I did go ahead and snip off a sample tester to make sure we weren't getting ahead of ourselves. It hangs along with a little nug I cut off of the branch (for quicker testing) and I stand here typing this impatient to try its delectable super-sticky goodness. The little branch hanging, was a bottom bud and she is nice and thick already! Here is a really quick pic of the little bud I took off of the branch to test tomorrow!

OK so that's all for today, thanks for coming by and loving on my girls, they love every minute of it.

We saw Zombie Death and Sirius Black today, my goal is to get some nice shots of our Kannabia Gelato-K via @CannaPot, hidden in the back of the tent, tonight, so that we can do a Plant of the Day focus on her tomorrow.

Salute friends!
